We were in AP for quite some time, about 8 weeks after they received our additional information. Then the visa was approved and we had it right away. Be patient, Montreal is slowwwwww. Good luck on your journey

@ronnie28 - my date changed when they received my documents but the status won't change until they go through those documents and make a final decision. Hope that helps.

@Ronnie28 - Have you tried emailing them at montreal-iv-dv@state.gov? Whenever I've emailed them they have sent a blanket answer which does no one any good. They previously lost documents that were sent to them from USICS and we needed to get an ombudsman involved and then they found them all of a sudden. I do know that if they have not done anything in 4 weeks that I will be involving the ombudsman again and of course my senator. This I just maddening that it takes them so long to do anything with anything. I certainly hope you get some response soon. Best of luck to you on your journey :-)

Mailed in requested documents on 09/23/16, Montreal claims to have received them on 09/29/16. I contacted them via email and they told me I have to give them 8 weeks from receipt of documents to contact them again. How long as everyone else waited for them to touch the requested documents and issue the visa?

Thanks Jawaree. Do you know how long it takes for them to process the information they requested and issue the visa?

Ok so they finally got the approved I-212 and they requested the normal passport, passport photos, new medical, tax returns, etc. Sent them 3 weeks ago to Montreal but the CEAC still shows refused. How long does it take for them to get passport with visa back to us?
-
If you have a copy of approval send them a copy (scan & email)
Both the attorney and I have scanned and emailed them the I-797 approval but they refuse to accept it as it needs to come USCIS. I can even go onto the CEAC website and look that it was approved but it appears that is not enough evidence to prove it...they want it from USCIS. I am just hoping that NVC locates it and gets it to Montreal. At this point I think I need to involve my senator.

I'm sorry for you! I have no answer to your question, but I believe that someone will be able to help you! How long it took to pass your 212? we already have 15 months of waiting for our no news! thanks
Thank you Maria. We sent the I-212 to Detroit on December 16, 2015 and it was approved on April 8, 2016....but that's only after nagging them weekly.

Hi. My husband lives in Canada and I in the US. His I-212 was approved through the Detroit field office on April 8, 2016. They were supposed to forward that to the Montreal consulate but instead sent it to the NVC. Both my attorney and I have contacted the NVC regarding the I-212 but they reply to us both that they already contacted the Montreal consulate October of 2015...but that was before the interview where the consulate requested the I-212. Is there anything I can do, or anyone I can talk to that might expedite them finding this lost approved I-212 and get it to Montreal ASAP??? Thanks for any help

They requested medical and police record again. Because they didn't look at it soon enough we went past the year mark for the original oath. He went to re-oath, they issued his passport while he was there. I go to pick him up on 01/12/17 after 3 long years of dealing with this. I just know I am soooo happy and relieved to have this done and I wish everyone on here trying to do their immigration the right way the best of luck. Just remember be patient because the government moves at a snails pace and there is really not much more you can do but be patient.
