Sent my documents to the embassy, and they scheduled my interview same day - august 30th
Just trying to gather some evidence of relationship as we currently live together which somehow makes it harder!
-
Thanks I did ring up and got my case number, but it's still at nvc undergoing administrative processing?
But when I emailed the embassy I got this reply
The below mentioned file has not been received at post to date. It usually takes about 2 weeks for the file to arrive, once you have been notified by the NVC. As soon as we receive the file, we will send the applicant the pertinent information and forms through the post.
We will do everything we can to assist your travel to the United States.
I trust this information is of assistance.
Regards,
So I guess that means I can't do anything until they receive it.

Just a quick question
As far as I can tell, the new zealand embassy sends out all the medical, police etc forms when they receive the application from NVC,
So is there any point in me ringing up NVC to try and find out my case number earlier, or can I still do a medical before the embassy receives it
Cheers

Hey,
My partner, the us citizen, is currently living here with me in new zealand, and we both plan on going back together to the states, so obviously her income there is currently 0.
Her father is going to co-sponsor but is self employed so may be a little complicated, so I was wondering if my father here in New Zealand, could complete on also?
Cheers

If that email does actually mean the application has been sent and they send them in bulk. Then I guess I got in just in time as my application was approved, then less than 1 hour later I got the post decision activity email
-
It looks like the post decision activity email may be a utomatuc thing now, as mine came through only 1 hour after my approved update?

Our approval came through today!

Hey,
I used to think that the POE ( the place ill give my sealed envelope to) was where ever i enter the usa, which would be JFK in my case.
But then I saw a post where someone was told their POE was Dublin, Ireland as they were going from there?
The reason I ask is because, As I cannot leave nor work for 4 months once entering the US. Me and my fiance were planning on doing our round the world travels before hand and both arriving to JFK together. (so about 5 or more destinations after leaving new zealand before arriving in the u.s)
Or is it as simple as JFK being my POE?
Cheers

Thanks for that,
I read those two documents you mentioned and was still a little confused, do my personal finances not come in to play, and its solely down to my petitioners situation?
Will it be an issue if the process is slightly faster than planned, and she is still here in new zealand during my interview stages
Another question I have is as follows:
I originally moved to NZ from the UK 7 years ago when i was 17. I have seen that I will require a police certificate for every country I have been in for 12 months or more since 16. Can I use the police certificate I acquired 7 years ago to move here as I have not ever been back to the UK. Or will I need a new one.
Cheers

Hey,
So me and my American girlfriend filed the I-129f at the end of April.
We are currently both still new Zealand, were she came on her working holiday and we met.
She will be flying back to the states on the 1st September and I will follow.
I have a couple of questions I can't seem to find the answer to:
1. If I go across to visit for upto 90 days while we wait, at which point would it be advisable to return to New Zealand to complete the process? When we receive the NOA2 or when NVC has finished with it.
2. As she currently has no U.S employment but I will be selling my property here in New Zealand. Will enough cash in my bank (around $40,000 nzd) be enough to not require the affidavit of support?
3. Once we have completed the process , gotten married and filed for adjustment of status, we would like to go travelling for 6 months, a honeymoon almost. Is there any rules about me leaving and reentering the u.s in that period?
Thanks
Jack

Had my interview in Auckland this morning and after a 4 hour wait and a 3 minute interview we were approved
Didn't even ask for any evidence of relationship we prepared!
