  1. i was interviewed for immigration visa (I-730 Petition) on 1st June and the overall process was very smooth.

the interview with the CO was quite good and he told me "Everything looks good, i am approving this but we need 2 more months to issue you the Visa. if you don't get your passport in July you can contact the embassy".

its been almost 2 months now from June 1st and the CEAC status is Administrative Processing.

has anyone been in the same situation? can i expect my passport on time as informed by the Officer?

    please kindly enlighten me :)

    hoping for the best :)

Hi, my husband's interview was June 9. They didn't say approved (they gave him a white 221g form), but they did say to follow up if we don't hear anything by the end of July. You weren't given a form, were you?

  2. @JWA2016 yes you are right my husband's interview was on 6/15/2016 ,he was given white 221g slip with AP marked on it and CO told him he will get a call after a month just keep ur phone on ...... got only 2 updates since then 1st was next day of interview and 2nd was on june 28 when i sent them an email .what about you and plz keep me updated .

    Interview 6/9

    Update 6/10

    Emailed 6/10 (after update)

    Response (generic) & Update 6/13

Emailed 7/1 (just before the holiday week)

Update 7/12 (today, likely due to receipt of the 7/1 email)

No response yet. It will probably be generic when/if it comes, but I'm really hoping the case is moving forward.

Did they respond to your email from 6/28?

Also, about keeping his phone on - has anyone called?

  3. U have to wait bit more as mostly AP reslove in 60 days. Dont worry u will get ur visa.

@Khanuz...same here. Waiting on AP since interview on 6/9. Remind me, did they give you a 221g? We received a white 221g, no requested documents checked on the form, it just says "AP". They kept his passport.

Also, they were closed all last week, likely due to July 4th and Eid, and reopened today (7/11). That closure may delay us another week...

  4. Timeline

My husband had an interview today ,they kept his passport and gave him a 221(g) slip , he was told that his case needs administration processing and it will take 1 month . I am really worried it's been ages I can't do this anymore. Please let me know if someone else with white slip gets approval, and please pray for me ,i hope everyone of you get approval soon .

Same happened to us last Thursday, June 9th. Interview went well, the CO kept his passport and issued a white 221(g) and said that if we don't hear something, follow up in 60 days / end of July. The next day, the case status updated from 6/9/16 to 6/10/16. We then sent an inquiry using the email tool on the website and asked if they'd provide reasoning for AP and/or an ETA, knowing that we were 99.99% likely to get a generic, uninformative response. Alas, on Monday, that was what we got:

    Dear ..:

Our record indicates that your visa application is under administrative processing. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to predict how long this processing may take. The wait could possibly be quite lengthy. However, please rest assured that as soon as this processing is finished, we will contact the applicant using the contact information he/she has provided on his/her application. Thank you for your kind understanding.

    Sincerely,

    Immigrant Visa Unit

    Consular Section, American Embassy

    Islamabad, Pakistan

Case status updated again on Monday (6/13) as a result of them responding to us. No update since.

  5. My husband had his interview June 9th. All went well. No difficult questions. He had all of our paperwork and could even see that the CO had the NVC paperwork with an APPROVED stamp. Also present the entire time was an unidentifiable white form.

After the usual questions, the CO asked how much we talk. Before my husband could respond and show him our phone/chat records, he said "never mind", handed him that now well-known form: a white 221(g) with only the AP box checked. The CO said to inquire if we don't hear from them in 6o days and kept my husband's passport, medical exam files (cleared by dr so not the issue) and other previously-filed documentation. He did NOT say we were approved. Instead, he said this wasn't a denial but the case requires additional processing, no further docs required.

I've been reading the forums every day since and some people have been waiting months, others are approved in a matter of days or weeks. It all seems so random.

I'm curious if anyone else interviewed that day - or recently - and faced something similar. I'd also like to hear your stories if this experience sounds familiar to your own.

Please help...Hating this black hole but desperately hoping for the best.

    Thanks!
