  1. I am US citizen male petitioner and my fiance from Philippines has gotten her k1 visa and is now here in United States with me. When she was at airport at LAX the immigration officer kept her yellow packet that came with the k1 visa and passport. The packet contains her original birth certificate,NBI clearance and Cenomar. All are important documents we will need later. So we need to know what is going to happen to the documents. Will they send them back to our address automatically when they are through with them? Or do we need to contact someone to get them back? Or do they keep them until we get married or what?

  2. Hi my fiancée has her k1 visa in her passport and also has completed the gcp seminar and got her sticker in her passport. I'm a US citizen petitioner and bought her ticket to fly here to USA. At the seminar they told her that she will need to pay taxes for her ticket and that's all they told her. When I went to the Philippines to see her I was charged for a terminal fee on my way back home and that was unexpected. Is that the tax they were talking about at the seminar? Or is there another tax she needs to pay for. She leaves in 2 days on the 25th of nov.any info will help. Thank you. Also I forgot to mention she is in cebu city Philippines leaving from the airport there.

  3. I'm a petitioner from US and I received an email from ustraveldocs saying that we can make an appointment after paying a fee. My fiance lives in Philippines and we thought she would be getting a packet in the mail with requirements and other information. We want to do this interview as soon as possible but my fiance thinks she needs to wait until she gets the requirements packet in the mail. Can we just make an appointment without even receiving this packet in the mail? And can we trust this website because I thought it would be the embassy in Manila that would send us information.

  4. My fiance is now able to schedule her k1 visa interview at the US embassy in Manila Philippines. Our issue is that when you schedule an appointment you choose an avaliable date for the interview. But we don't know how to schedule the medical exam, and you need to have the medical exam before the interview. We want to avoid any mistakes. And how can we be sure that if we pick an open appointment day from avaliable dates that we will be able to schedule a medical exam before the already scheduled visa interview. And where is this medical center, is it in Manila? Thank you for your time

  5. Thank you very much. I thought it would be something like that because the visa is for getting married and not for becoming a permanent resident. I really appreciate your help. I do have another question. I got an email saying my fiance can make and appointment with embassy after paying a fee but the email does not mention the medical appointment I do right before the embassy appointment. Do you make both appointments at the same time?

  6. I'm a male US citizen and I got my k1 i129f petition approved and my fiance in the Philippines is able to now Schedule a medical appointment and embassy appointment after I pay the fee for the appointments. And I'm getting the k1 visa so we will get married here in United States so she can become a us permanent resident after getting green card but I'm confused about which DS-160 visa application forms she fills out. Is it immigrant or non-immigrant. Thank you.

  7. Another question. Does my fiance need to get all required vaccinations before she turns in the ds-160. Because on the questionnaire it asks if she has documentation for all vaccinations required by US law. So we worry if we turn it in now, it would say no to the question which could jeopardize our chances with getting the k1 visa.thank you for you time

  8. My I129f k1 visa petition is being sent to the US embassy in Manila Philippines. So the next step is to fill out the ds-160 visa application. I'm the petitioner by the way. One of the questions is if my fiance has documentation for vaccinations accordance with US law. I know the list of vaccinations on the list required for a permanent resident. But we don't know if we need to get those vaccinations before the interview at the US embassy. Or if she can get the required vaccinations from the required medical examination. I read that it needs to be done by the civil surgeon. And not sure if that is who will be conducting the medical examination.I hope someone out there has the answer. Thank you very much for your time.

  9. My fiancee lives in North cotabato mindinao. And we would like to set up the k1 visa interview closer to her home at Cebu city at the U.S. consulate there instead of going to the U.S. embassy in Manila. And I don't know if we have a choice or does she need to go to manila. On the I-129F k1 visa petition it asks where my fiancee will apply for a visa abroad at the American embassy or consulate on question 36a and 36b. So on my petition should I put she will apply at consulate at Cebu city which would be more convenient for her, or should I say U.S. embassy in Manila. I'm not sure if we have a choice or if she needs to go to American embassy no matter what.
