  1. You get those separately. Apply for SSN at the Social Security Administration (not sure if you need EAD for that, I applied way back when I was on F-1, so maybe not) and for the ID or drivers license - at the DMV (after you get the EAD).

    EAD doesn't have anything to do with domestic travel and doesn't really have any other use other than confirming your eligibility to work, as other folks mentioned above. You can travel within the US on your passport and then on your ID when you get it.

    And you'll need SSN asap, as you'll need it for employment.

  2. Just received an email saying my ead card has been shipped and I'm nervous. I'm not sure what happens next. Will I be able to travel within the U.S.? And what steps should I take upon receiving my card? Does this mean I'll have my adjustment of status approved? I haven't gotten an interview date yet either. I applied for I-485, I-765 and I-130 on March 11th and my interview has been ready to schedule since April 20th
