  1. BEWARE! If you have not gone to your biometrics yet....

... that they will take a picture there and that picture will be the picture on your naturalization certificate for all time! Sometimes they ask you to take out anything in your hair and sometimes earrings... sooo keep that in mind if you want a nice photo at your biometrics appointment that will end up on your certificate!

And btw, my wife Diana is finally a citizen!!!!

  2. Do you mean my online status with immigration or on VisaJourney? I have updated on visajourney but i'm not on the running timeline for March people.. or April... so that isn't updated, or even on it.

    ????

Question for people, the oath letter says to bring:

Reentry Permit (what is that?? my wife probably doesn't have it)

Immigration Documents (should i just bring everything i've sent and received from immigration?)

The oath is in a courtroom, so would it be ok to bring my 3yr,1.8yr, and 5mo old?

  3. I'd like to hear others who have gone through this also. Our application process has been flawless and speedy. My wife passed the interview easily and was recommended for approval. We have not heard anything since that date and it's getting a little annoying. By my reckoning from other timelines, she should have the actual Oath within 2 to 4 weeks after that and she hasn't even gotten the letter. Any suggestions? Hard not being impatient so close to the end... thanks1

  4. Thanks for all the help! Good advice too. The thing is that I've pretty much done all the immigration stuff for her, and just had her sign things. So, we'll have to go over the application so she is very familiar with it. She's completely fluent in English so i'm not concerned about any misunderstandings. it's just an important thing and never know what they'll want or say.

bummer about the no same-day-oath thing... that'd be nice. but how i figure, it'd be in 2-4 weeks. the interview is on Monday.

    again, thanks for that input!

  5. Sounds like some pretty poor "negatives". You're turning honors and duties into negatives. Though you already are a US citizen, if you had such a problem with, passports, jury's, taxes, being loyal and proud of your new country, why even bother? It seems more of a hassle to you than a privilege. It's an honor for the US to allow you to become a citizen, it's definitely not something any immigrant deserves or has a right to. While the whole "find 10 things bad about being a citizen" may be just a "game", it shows some pretty poor attitude about being granted the priviledge to live in the greatest, most free, most unique country to date.

  6. I've call people at USCIS about which number is the Non-Immigrant Visa number on the K-1 visa which you need to fill out the AOS form. The first lady told me it's the one that starts with an A and has nine digits. I told her no, that's the Alien Number and that isn't even on the Visa. Both her and the other lady i called (which the second one was significantly more aware and intelligent) said they could only say that it was on the visa somewhere but couldn't tell me if it was the Control Number or the Red number.. or some other number. IT'S THEIR FREAKING FORM!! WHY CAN'T THEY ANSWER THIS?

And then of course the National Visa Center is busy.

So... i've read on the forums that people have used the Red one and it works fine, or they'll put both down in the space provided. Does anyone have any DEFINITIVE answer on this from an official?

    THanks guys and gals!

  7. Hi, my fiancee is here in the states and we are getting ready to go through the whole AOS process. She completed the medical exam and everything in Spain but the vaccinations were not finished there. Now, in order to have gotten the K-1 to enter the United States in the first place, that medical exam had to have been passed and everything been fine, right? That means she doesn't need to do any of that again here in the states. But for the vaccinations, she would need to get that finished up here in the states. Am I understanding this all correctly?

Why is legal immigration so terribly difficult?

  8. Hi, my fiancee just got her packet 3 (or whatever the conventional title is these days) and in the checklist that she needs to have "everything for the interview", does she have to have the medical exam completed before she sends that in to get the interview or does she just have to schedule the medical exam and send the checklist back allowing for enough time to attend the exam leaving at least 2 days between it and the consulate interview?
