Got my interview letter on Thursday.

Finally got our interview date 8/1/2016!! woohoo

I called yesterday and asked why we can't schedule our own interviews and the agent gave me a long, drawn out explanation about the embassy only having a certain amount of slots for the IR-1/CR-1 Visas (among many others). I wasn't happy with the answer. It still makes no sense that people filing for Fiance visas can schedule their own appointments while people who are married cannot.

I'll definitely keep you posted. When I called, I was told that the July appointments werw filling up fast. Hopefully I'll get his appointment date soon. I'll post as soon as he gets it.

I'm waiting for my husband's interview to be scheduled and the NVC seems to be taking their sweet time. Our case completed at the NVC on May 17th andthe NVC says that they are still waiting to get notification from the embassy on when they can schedule the interview. This has been the most annoying part of the process to date. I can't understand why we can't schedule our own interviews. That process seems to be muh quicker.
