  1. I submitted my I-751 petition to remove conditions on residence on Jan 20th 2019, 68 days before my conditional green card expires Mar 29th 2019. I received a NOA in the mail on Feb 4th, 2019 extending the expiration date by 18 months. I noticed the next day that the last letter of my first name is misspelled on the NOA. I called USCIS call center and the agent told me that she put in an inquiry to my case and that I would hear back within 30 days from the service center. I wonder how they will get in touch with me as the agent seemed unable to read out letters and numbers correctly. I don't think she got my phone number or email down correctly and it took her 3 tries to read out the confirmation number for the inquiry.

Has anyone else had this experience? Is there anything else I can do? Should I call again? and also fill out an e-request to fix this error? https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayTypoForm.do Just posting here in case someone in the future experiences this. I will update if/when I hear back.

  2. I'm a phd student with one more year left on my F1 student visa. I just filed for AOS using I-130 and I-485 upon marriage to a US Citizen. The US citizen is able to provide all financial support required by the petitions. My question is : do I need to file the I-765?

I am not working off campus (or on campus) or intend to for another year (maybe two). My impression was that since I'm continuing my program without any change in work authorization, I will continue on my F1 until my conditional green card comes through, which will hopefully happen in less than one year. Once I'm on my conditional green card, I'll be ready to apply for jobs. Am I correct in my understanding? Advice is much appreciated!!
