  1. Hello,

My wife and I are getting ready for the interview. When we sent out the original package we used the DS-3025 and didn't receive a RFE for anything. The I-797C says that the medical exam (I-693), and vaccination supplement must be brought in a sealed envelope, unless already submitted. Since I used the 3025, do we still need to get these other documents or will it be sufficent in completing the interview?

    Thank you

  2. NVC doesn't do anything when it comes to a K1 visa besides issue it a case number. You get NOA2 and wait for USCIS to mail it to NVC (which takes ages). Once NVC has it they issue it an immigrant case number and send it to the embassy or consulate that you entered into the I-129F. How an embassy works the visa processing is all dependant on them, so look in your embassy forum for help regards to that. Being as NVC issues your case an immigrant number, I always called the immigrant line, however it shouldn't matter since all calls will go to an operator asking to WAC number.

I completed the K1 process about 2 weeks ago, so if anyone would like some help, feel free to PM me.

  3. So I am getting everything ready for AOS. I heard prices are going to increase shortly, so want to be able to file as soon as we get our marriage certificate. I am trying to figure out if we need the I-693 or not. Being a K1, we understand the medical exam doesn't need to be done again if within 1 year of overseas exam. When it comes to the I-693, I have read it is required regardless to verify immunizations, but I also read that as long as the DS-3026 was filled out correctly, it won't be required. I would obviously like the I-693 not be required if the 3026 was filled out correctly, as it would save a few hundred dollars. Can anyone explain to me what is or isn't required when it comes to medical paperwork?

    Thank you

Edit: I just looked through the medical paperwork we we given. We don't have the DS-3026, we only have the DS-3025. The 3025 has the immunizations on it, the 3026 was the medical questions.

  4. A personal check allows you to have some extra visibility on your petition while it is en route to CSC. When the check is cashed will basically be NOA1. Money order is fine as well, just make sure you put the correct name in the payable to part.

A visa service is not required, and I highly discourage it. They are expencive and all they do is act as a middle man. You still need to get all the documents. The process is not hard, just takes time. Members here are VJ will gladly help for free, plus there are a ton guides around showing what documents you need.

    Good luck!

  5. From one of your other posts, I am going to assume the country you are talking about is India. After doing a little bit of research, New Delhi and Mumbai do the immigrant visas. Now with K1 visas, they go through NVC really quickly, normally a week tops. When they issue you a case number, you could request to have it shipped to the closer embassy or consulate then what you listed and they should be able to help you. If it gets sent to the farther embassy, you can either bite the bullet and take the interview there, or have them send it to the closer one. I heard that doing that can take up to a month. They apparently send it back to the states before sending it to the new embassy.

  6. They said they sent it out June 8th, the day is was approved, which is bull. I really wish there was some way to give feedback to USCIS. They are terrible at answering questions, even the tier 2 guys who have the information. They tend to be nasty towards you, and are almost never helpful and try to get you off the phone as fast as possible instead of actually helping. If they helped the first time around, the amount of calls would drop significantly. I called USCIS about 4 times till I got someone helpful.

  7. All cases go to NVC after NOA2. My NOA2 said it was sent to the consulate directly. Regardless of what NOA2 says, an approved petition will be sent to NVC, get assigned a case number, then depart for the consulate. Also from the looks of it, it takes USCIS about a month to send approved petitions. Call on Fridays as it seems they are sent on Fridays (takes about a week to get mailed).
