  1. My k1 visa interview is tomorrow... I've been feeling sooo good, but now the nerves are starting to kick in.

I think I'm well prepared, but just wanted to check if I should also take copies of all the petition paper work with me to the interview?

Also, the debate whether or not to take the self addressed express post envelope. I haven't got one.. Do I need one or not?

Wish me luck. I don't think anyone apart from you guys and my fiance fully understand what this interview means.. They've basically got my future in their hands...It's scary :|

  2. Hi all,

I received my 'K1 Package & Appointment Package' via email. I have a couple of questions.. I'm waiting for a response from the office, but hoping someone here could help me

    1. Medical and Interview Appointment Scheduling Dates

My interview appointment is scheduled for 28 June, 2016 and my medical exam is scheduled for 24 June, 2016. Will there be an issue with the short duration between the 2 appointments, and the consulate receiving my medical reports in time for the interview?

    2. Validation Letter

The K1 Appointment Check List advises me to bring a Validation Letter. Is this required even if our K1 Petition is valid until September 10, 2016?

    3. MRV Fee Receipt Of Payment

I am required to make payment prior to my interview and bring the receipt with me to the appointment, however the appointment date is not showing up on the USTravelDocs dashboard when I log on to the website to pay by credit card. Could someone please advise me of how to make the payment by credit card?

  3. Hi all,

    I'm feeling very overwhelmed (again).

So, the K1 visa process has moved really fast.. Yesterday I thought I was organised, then today I got an email with my interview scheduled for 2 weeks time and my medical is now scheduled for next week... Im not feeling organised anymore, I didn't think the medical or interview were going to come this quickly!

I think I've over googled and confused myself..

Do I take any USCIS type forms to the medical?

  4. Sorry I now realise my message made no sense at all. I'm finding the process very confusing... My fiance is well worth it, but I'll be soo happy when all this is all over!!

So, I called the correct people and now have our case number :D The lady said the paper work was sent June 7th, so I'm hoping to receive it soon.

Is there anything I can do with my case number right now, or am I best to just wait to receive the paper work (paper work that I've seen people refer to as 'packet 3')?

  5. It's been over a month and we haven't received the 'packet 3' documents.

My fiance is emailing the contact email address that was advised in the approval letter he received.

I've read that I can call the Sydney NVC to find out if they have recieced my case, but when attempting to call them I got stuck on a merry-go-round of "press this number if..." and no humans. Finally I got hold of someone, but he was from a different area, sounded like he had no idea what i was talking about and told me to email the Syd NVC... Im still not happy, I want to talk to a consultant that knows what I'm talking about and can give me some answers. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

  6. Hi guys,

Apologies if I'm asking questions that have already been answered, just wanting to make sure I'm getting up to date answers

    1. My fiance is pretty confident we'll be fine with just him submitting Form-139 Affidavid of Support, but since he's just relocated from Hawaii to Florida and he works for himself as a carpenter, I'm getting nervous about his work flow and how that will affect his income, while he's settling in (plus the loss of income during the moving process). His mum is happy to be a joint/co sponsor, so my worry is put at ease.. Does she just fill out the same Form-139 and supply the same documents as asked and I just give hers along with my fiances form?

    2. We're up to the part where the petition has been approved and I'm waiting for further instruction. I've been going over to see my fiance every 3 months to visit for a couple of weeks at a time using my ESTA visa. The last couple of times I've been questioned about what I'm doing there, how long I plan to stay, asked to show my ticket home, etc.. I'm worried I'm eventually going to be denied entry because of concern of over staying or intentions of not going home at all, due to them knowing I'm trying to get a visa to live there. I've read about supplying proof/ties/commitments to Australia, but I don't have a lot of proof. Last time I arrived in Texas 3am Australian time after a 16 hour flight, very tired and not in the mood to be harrassed, so I just told the guy exactly what I was doing, I told him I had no intention of getting married right now, wasn't going to jeopardise anything, that I knew I had to go home, that I woud be going home, etc. in a direct, but polite manner.. All he was worried about was if I had brought gifts for my fiance and his family, in which I responded no, I've already given them Australian souvenirs, they don't need anymore boomerangs and keyrings :/ What is the likelihood of being denied entry as the fiance visa process moves along?

  7. Hi all,

I've been googling like crazy trying to find out if joint sponsoring is allowed with Form I-134. I keep getting conflicting answers, some sites say yes, others say it's highly unlikely a joint sponsor will be accepted (and that approval depends soley on the petitioners finances).

Also, if the alien fiance has a lot of savings, can her money also be taken into consideration with this?
