I finished a naturalization in Newark few days ago. It wasn't a pleasant journey, but I wanted to share it here in case someone finds it as useful. My timeline is:
Aug 2019 N-400 Filed
4/14/2020 Interview(Cancelled)
9/21/2020 Interview(Passed)
10/30/2020 Oath
Good luck to everyone. The frustrating part of my case was I couldn't do the same day oath while my interview was at scheduled 10:45AM. My interview began at 2PM. By the time the interview was over, there weren't seat left for the same day oath. Newark seemed to have overload at that time. I hope everything goes well with your cases. Good night!
Congrats man! I just have a question because I'm pretty much in the same position I did my interview today and I passed it but no oath! my question is how long did it take you to get scheduled to take the oath of allegiance? and did you received a mail or it was updated online?
thanks

Done with interview and oath. All under 2 hrs at newark.
You cannot go in 15 mins before interview. So be prepared wait if you are early but it's better to be there early on time.
Went up to 15th floor. Presented appointment letter and waited 20 mins and was called in. Phones were allowed.
Civic test was pretty straight forward, as was reading and writing.
Standard verification of things on application.
They gave me a receipt that I had passed. I was told finger print verification was taking time. I didnt know what that meant. Apparently it was happening a lot today. I was asked to wait.
Waited for another 30 mins. Then about 20 of us were asked to go to a room for oath. Got a certificate and passport application.
Easy breezy. Years of waiting all culminating finally. I have to say it feels great.
Congratulations! my appointment is on Nov 4th at Newark, did you get any weird questions about your forms?

Me personally I didn't mention traffic tickets who are not that serious like DUI and stuff like that!

Today is 1 year since I filled and I have not yet received any notice EVER, was never scheduled to be rescheduled either. But based on two other that received their dates this week and were early and mid Sept, you should be coming up this wee or next and I should hopefully shortly there after. I would imagine my date for interview would be late Dec or early Jan of 2021.
I just received my interview date, Nov 4th! it's a short notice but it's better than nothing
I received a mail and my online portal was not updated

In case nobody mentioned this lately:
The Newark office SUC*S! 😒
Someone here said that all people who already had an interview which was then cancelled due to COVID-19 should receive a new appointment within 90 days.
Is there any web/news source supporting this claim?
We are now approaching day 120 and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in regards to re-scheduling happens... 🤬
Any suggestions other than to simply wait/sit this out?

I'm in the same situation, filed on Sept 2019, original interview April 29th, 2019
and I'm still waiting to get rescheduled

Same thing with me, I applied on Sept 17th, 2019 and I was scheduled for an interview on April 29th 2020, but the interview got cancelled and I'm still waiting for a new one!

According to USCIS they were supposed to re-schedule all cancelled appointments within 90 days after re-opening. Did you see the above comment about making an inquiry via online account "unsolicited documents"? Good luck!
I could not find the Unsolicited Documents inquiry! but I tried to send an inquiry for Outside normal processing time and they said that my case is within the range
knowing that I applied on Sept 16, 2019!

I was scheduled to pass the interview on April 29th, I was de-scheduled and since then I'm still waiting for any positive sign!

Hi guys, I'm eligible to apply for citizenship, but I just moved to a new state and I know that I need to wait 3 months before I can apply, my question is should I start counting since the day I notified USCIS about my new address? or there's something else to do, thanks for your help

Hello guys, is there anyone in the same situation like me? My pd is nov 9 2016 and still waiting for IL, is that normal? Thanks
-
Hi guys I really need some help, so after waiting 20 months for my I130 approval (pd nov 9, 2016) I just got the letter the last week, now I'm waiting for the WL from the NVC.
I'm skeptical about my income if it fit my petition or not, in 2016 I made around 27k and 2017 I made around 22k, and this year 2018 I should make over 40k, now my question is If my recent transcript would be enough (22k of 2017) or I need a co-sponsor?
I will greatly appreciate any help because I'm a little bit lost
thank you
