  1. Ladies and gentleman,

I need your help please, My case has arrived to Lebanons embassy about 3 weeks ago and until couple of days I ago I havent received anything from them. I emailed them yesterday to check whats my status. and this is what they responded "Thank you for your email. Please take note that your fiancé’s file has reached Beirut Embassy. However, Your fiancé’s case is still undergoing internal processing. Kindly be informed that your fiancé will be contacted shortly to inform him regarding next steps.:

what does this mean people? internal processing???????????? any idea?

  2. It's non-immigrant. If it seems confusing, it's because it's confusing. The Wikipedia page on K-1s lays it out fairly well:

"Although a K-1 visa is legally classified as a non-immigrant visa, it usually leads to important immigration benefits and is therefore often processed by the Immigrant Visa section of United States embassies and consulates worldwide."

So legally non-immigrant, but practically speaking, the embassies handle them more like an immigrant visa. I think this is why you use the NVC number leading up to the interview for tracking, but the DS-160 number to track it afterwards. Once the practical work is done, it goes back to being technically non-immigrant.

whats the link to track our ds-160 ?

    thank you

  3. HEY if you signed and sent it .!!! is not going to expire because is already in their system.

if you just saved it to keep adding information YES it will be expired in 30 days.

    =)

heres why I am scared that it may expire. My fiance submitted it on tuesday. he was going to pay the fee and schedule interview/medical today however he had some urgent work that came up at his job. so he wont be scheduling the interview not before Monday. Will this cause any problem ?

  4. Hey sometimes they don't send anything to you or your fiance(e). if the case on line says "ready" that means that you can schedule an interview. after you do that you call to the doctor for the medical he needs the interview date.

Check the instruction of your consulate here.

Thank you so much for responding. have you done the ds160 yet? its a pain :(

  5. My fiance and I spent 6 hours yesterday completing the ds160 application its a pain. :(

i dont know if we submitted it too early or not. my case is already at the embassy , its been there for 12 days still havent heard anything from them. since now we completed the ds160, whats next? do we take the confirmation to the bank so he can pay the fee? can we schedule the medical and interview right now? if though we havent heard from the embassy yet?

    thank you

  6. Hello, I also live in Michigan and I called the sos. They told me yes but it has to be translated (whatever that means) but in Michigan they can apply for a drivers license once they get here. All they need is the proof of the visa and 2 proofs of residency. Hope that helps.

wow good to know you live in michigan as well. Well if thats the case then why spend more money for international drivers license when he can get a michigan DL as soon as he arrives.
