honestly I dont see the problem with buying a ticket here in Ageria. Buy it at the airport or through an agent ... or you could buy the ticket wigth your credit card in the US ... but here in Algeria the law doesnt allow for curreny to sent out the country, Ticket to US varies depending on the city he will go but if you buy a ticket after Sept 10 the price for 1ay will only be around 800USD , costs more in the summer waaaaaaay more

My children are all under 18 (ages 2,4,5) They were all born in wedlock. One parent (me) is the USC. We're not living in the US (yet) in the process of putting together the I-130 for my nonUSC husband. Thank you Nigeria for that info.

ok, thank you to be clear filing one i 130 for each person means sending in the fee for each person too? How will they citizens upon arrival? No 5year wait to file N400 for my kids? I do have a co-sponsor but looking at the income requirements where it says size of family ... does this apply to the size of my family , the number of people I'm petitiong for? Or the size of my consponsor's family? Sorry if that sounds if my question sounds stupid I want to be clear before doing anythng. Already wasted the money for the birth aboard. Thank you again everyone.

Hello everyone,
Recently brought to my attention that a USC needs to file and pay taxes if they live outside the US. Ignorance I know is no excuse but I didn't know this. I haven't worked so technically nothing to declare as income. Being supported by my non-USC spouse. What can I do now? Esp since I need tax returns for filing I 130. Thank you

Sorry it won't allow me to edit. I just read this
NOTE: If you are a US CItizen filing for a K1 or K3 Visa for your non-US fiance/spouse, and they have children, then they may bring them here under a K2/K3 Visa. The children automatically qualify fro the K2/K3 visa as derivitive status of their mom's K1/K3 status (you need only petition for your fiance/wife and list the children on that petition in the relavent blanks).Does this apply for CR1 visas or only K3? Can I add my kids on my husband's petition? As I've read K3 is absolete visa. Also where can I read about fees for the children. Thank you everyone again!

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding visas. So basically the story:Married to my foreign husband almost 10yrs, living in his native country. Have 4 children together. We applied for "birth aboard" for the kids, but didn't get it due to not having enough presence in the US from what I understood. So we want to move to the US filing I-130 for my husband. But what about my kids? What visa can I file for them? Where can I find the info on filing for my kids and husband together. Thank you very much!

Algerian couscous is different then Moroccan or other styles. The recipe above, while nice isn't Algerian couscous. Algerian couscous is as Momof1 said white or red sauce. You have mesfouf which is just couscous with fruit or vegetable, eaten with buttermilk or you have couscous with a sauce (white or red) white meaning it's only black pepper and cinnamon. red sauce being pepper, tomato, paprika and cinnamon and sometimes ras el hanont. I'm happy to help with Algerian recipes if you need.
easy recipe for you ...
-500g-1lb lamb or beef (or even chicken cut up=-2 Zucchini peeled and cut into half-sections.-2 Carrots, peeled and cut into half-sections.-1 White turnip, peeled and cut into half-sections.-2 Potatoes peeled and cut into half land-sections.-2tomatoes, grated-2 onions, chopped-1 Handful of precooked chickpeas.-1tsp paprika.1 tsp cinnamon-1 tsp white pepper.-salt.-1 / 2 tsp turmeric.1 tsp concentrated tomato paste-water or stockoptional hot pepper, cayenne ,harissa-For the couscous:-1 Kg of couscoussalted butter or oil-salt.-water.- In a pressure cooker put the meat all vegetables except zucchini and potatoes and spices to the tomato concentrate and water to cover the meat and vegetables . Optionally do this in a slow cooker or regular pot. Just the cooking time will be different.- Close the pressure cooker and around 25 minutes after the whistle, open the pressure cooker add the zucchini and potatoes then cook for additional 30m until the sauce is thickened.Meanwhile , prepare your couscous grainsPour the couscous into a large bowl , coat the grains with oil and salt. Then add enough water to cover. Allow the water to absorb the grains. fill the bottom of the steamer with water about 2 liters -2qt- Place the steamer basket above the boiling water (bottom of the couscousier) Steam the couscous for about 15m.- Pour the couscous into a large bowl, fork to seperate the grains; salt and add better.- let cool for at least 5 min and put in the basket and repeat the same steps above to steam again for 10m.some people steam the couscous 3times or even 4times, but for a beginner the method I'm sharing is easy.when the couscous is done, pile onto a plate in a dome shape. arrange the veg and meat on top. ladle the sauce on top before serving. plus serve more sauce on the side.enjoy! -
I'm sorry but I obviously know it's not Burger King and we don't get things how we want them. But my questions are all geared towards transporting my family from here to there, with the hopes of not being seperated for long. Since I do have a legit marriage and family, that would be goal. So by asking questions, I don't think I'm doing anything wrong ... Anyways ...

Hello,
I'd like to ask how much actual evidence is needed for IR-1 if you've been married over 2 years. We've been 8 years and been together 10 and have 4 children together. As the evidence mentioned in the guide we don't have joint bank accounts, nor property together (we live with my husband's family). I don't think I have any of our phone or chat records from when we were dating anymore. But do have visa stamps in my old (outdated US passport), residency here in my husband's country and photos.
Is this ok? or I need other things?

Salaamu aleikoum,
My husband doesn't have any job offers. I just asked "IF" a relative of mine that has a business could give him a work visa? And in this thread, I asked about tourist visa. Sorry, I didnt know asking questions about how to get our loved ones over the States is fraud?! But if work or tourist visa is fraud, then fine of course not something I want to get into. How would I even know if it's fraud or haram? Obviously why I'm on VJ to ask these questions ...

Canadian Wife,
Well according to what I read online ... being an accounter or analyst in California where we plan to live) my husband's country's education is worthless ... basically European, Australian and American can be transferred. Not sure if this is 100% but that's what I've read. He'd have to redo least 2yr deg in accounting then pass the exam. I doubt we could sacrifice 2yrs for him to redo his education. I'm not sure, just looking for options here.

Hey all,
wondering if anyone could give me some ideas ... if the immigrant was in Accounting and Finance in their home country (managerial level) what possible jobs could they look for in the US? Given that their education isn't transferrable here (MBA) and 10yr experience probably not either. Any ideas on related jobs they could apply for? Or even what type of training or education they'd need (minimal, obviously not going to redo an MBA) for a decent jobs? Thank you!

Thank you themimigrant for the detailed explaination and links.

Thank you for all this information. It helps me also. If you were married for over 2 yrs, in my case 8yrs (and we have 4kids) together do we really need all these photos? And evidence of relationship? Isn't being together 8yrs enough?
