  1. Even though I have been through this process with all of it ups and downs, there is a need for immigration reform. It is far too lengthy of a process to come to America. And too costly. We need to make some changes. If you are fleeing Mexico or some other South American or Central American country where there is corruption and it is nearly impossible to feed, house and clothe your family, to come to America where you hear you can make money that easily, if I was in their situation, I would be the first in line to try to survive aka go to America. If you asked these people to go through the process, they would never make it. The forms are in English (are there some in Spanish? I am not sure) and it is a lengthy and complicated process that costs thousands of dollars. If you don't have money to take care of your family, where are you going to get this extra money for the visa process? I think we all need to have some compassion.

    Whether you are here illegally or not, the USCIS and the visa process needs an overhaul. Are you happy with the processing times and fees?

    My husband 1st language is not english- as many other applicants. so should there be forms in punjabi or urdu? since I am sponsering my husband- I cant read urdu or punjabi.

    I think that was Ace's point. You are sponsoring someone and you speak english, so it is easy for you to do it legally. If these people are refuggees (more or less), they don't have a sponsor. They are just trying to survive and better their life. Totally different situation than you, just trying to be with your fiance/spouse. You have the option to choose between your country and your spouses. These people are both from a foreign country and are trying to get to what they have heard is their promised land. Man, you are mean.

    Considering we've had three years now of Democrats and the media repeating "Bush Lied" and declaring everything Bush does a failure its about time the man who was in charge for 8 years got ONE QUESTION about what he did to stop OBL. Especially since Democrats tried to kill the ABC movie "The Path to 9/11" which started to explain to those who do not know exactly how we got where we are.

    It is not a "blame game". It is history. And for over three years now, the left has been trying to rewrite it (for instance, putting the person who made it nearly impossible for the FBI and CIA to share intelligence information, Jamie Gorelick, on the 9/11 commission).

    If the public accepts the redacted history the left is putting out, the war on terror is lost right now.

The Video was edited by who I don't know but what you saw with sticks and stuff is a play that they were doing a dance a drama whatever you want to call it.. and dying for Jesus is different they don't take guns etc.. to blow people up they teach the word of God. Some people don't like it and will even kill a christian like it is a trophy. They are not evil people looking to hate people from different races their goal is to love the people to show God's love... The girl who had tape over her mouth that said life on it was a protest against abortion the baby inside can not speak for his self.. so there for the child mouth was tape with the word life on it. someone did a great job of editing the tape to give christians a bad image but, all was edited.

    Just because you don't see all of it you will get the wrong ideal but, if you have questions I can answer to this video. Christians are to show love not hatred. Like all people in different beliefs you get a mix of everything but, a true christian is to show Jesus love.

    I'm a Christian and would be happy to be a member of God's Army! Now that I think about it, I guess I already am--just have never labeled myself that way. I speak the Good News everyday! I agree with who wrote that we need to keep a watchful eye for those that use Jesus' name and do not do good works. And then tell them so-loud and clear. Name one Christian country were other religions are not welcome to practice their faith? We are a loving and accepting group. Christians would rejoice if all the world was believers and we tell people about what Jesus did for us everyday we can, but we understand that it is a personal choice to choose to believe and that can not be forced on anyone, but all are welcome. :yes:

    The mistake George W made is by saying it was solely about WMD and Saddam. Islamic extremism is a much bigger problem than WMD and Saddam. If left alone it will grow bigger and more unmanageable.

    But then what did Saddam have to do with Islamic extremism?

    Seems there is more extremism post-Saddam than before. Of course that might be because his military dictatorship kept those "internal" elements under control. Still - since unsecured borders opened the floodgates to more of these people from neighbouring countries, it makes you wonder what strategy is on display here.

    That would require giving the man more executive power-which you don't appear to agree with either. It is like parting the waters to get anything done in Washington.

  7. Who cares? Believers care. He is the leader of the Church, God's Church here on earth. I listen to what he has to say and BELIEVE. Flame me all you want. Jesus Christ is our Risen Lord and he created the Church with Peter being the first Pope. The Bible speaks again and again that it is wrong to divorce and remarry and that sodomy is wrong. But I understand that unless you are a believer and seen God's good works, you would never follow the Lord. The law of Lord doesn't change. What what truth then is truth now! It is each and everyone of our rights to choose to believe or choose not to believe, but if a politician states he is a practicing Catholic, he can't have his cake and eat it too. No Catholic can say that they are pro-choice or pro-samesex marriage. The Bible has taught us those things are wrong and it would be a misrepresentation to the Church if someone identified themselves as Catholic and then blatently went against one of the principle foundations of the Church.

    Is Bush a Christian? Maybe he thinks so, but being a Christian means that your life is shaped by the basic principles of Christianity and that you strive to imitate Christs example in all aspects of your life. That seems to be not the case with the current president. But all this depends on what you define as a Christian...

    They asked if he was a Christian, not if he was a Saint. ;)

    Key word is strive. None of us will ever be as good as Christ.

    Leading a Christian life can mean being nice to your neighbor, being a good husband, helping old people cross the road. By saying that 93% of Americans are Christian, I'm suspecting that you are taking this broad definition, but that is not actually being a Christian. Do you think he is trying to lead a "Christian life", or do you think he is really Christian?

    No. You see, I loathe social programs. They are a budget disaster. They account for FAR more money in the budget than the military does. In order to expand them, they must raise taxes and that means taking my money away to help uneducated people become helpless.

    Welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, WIC, Section 8, etc. do NOTHING except condition lower class people into 'needing' some sort of handout from the government. It is one of the worst ideas EVER.

    To add insult to injury, it raises MY taxes to pay for it.

    In 2004 the U.S. spent 453 Billion on national defense.

    They also spent 213 Billion on health care services, 270 Billion on medicare, and 250 Billion on income security(i.e. welfare). In addition $55 billion is spent on smaller social programs.

    That is a total of $788 BILLION on social programs for 2004.

    The total budget was 2.4 trillion thus making a full 33% of all spending going towards social programs, while 18% went to the ENTIRE department of defense.

    Encourage people to work, and it will get better.

    You forget that many people who collect medicare and social security have paid money into the system for decades, thus the government is just returning money to them. If this is paid out of income taxes then only because it squandered the money these people paid throughout their lifetime.

    The military budget is financed exclusively out of income taxes and I'm sure once you total that out the percentages will look different. But, I agree it's not fair because in the same way you oppose having your tax money go towards welfare, I hate to see my taxes go towards defense. There should be a system which allows you to determine to which part of government your taxes go.

    Those figures don't include social security. Its just welfare my friend.

    I've checked the budget for 2006 and the taxes collected for medicare and social security are actually higher than the $788 Billion spend on social programs (by about 100 billion). Income taxes only make up 44% of the entire budget, meaning that most of these things are paid for through other taxes. To assume that the taxes you pay are used to primarily provide social services assumes that the budget is only drawn from income taxes.

    Edit: I forgot to mention that the defense budget does not include current military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan (financed through extraordinary appropriation bills), R&D, Veterans' affairs, and a so-called "black budget." Taken together, the military budget is much higher than the 447 Billion you cite.

    I hate to break it to you, but America is not a Christian country nor was it founded as a Christian country or buillt on Christian beliefs. America is a country spawned by enlightenment thought. Its founder were deists, meaning that they believed in a monotheistic God but not necessarily the Christian God.

    What you're suggesting is - holy war - is a medieval idea that would have America's founders turn in their graves.

    These sentences have been erased from our textbooks. Was Patrick Henry a Christian?     Of the first 108 universities founded in America, 106 were distinctly Christian, including the first, Harvard University, chartered in 1636. In the original Harvard Student Handbook, rule number 1 was that students seeking entrance must know Latin and Greek so that they could study the Scriptures: "Let every student be plainly instructed and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of his life and studies, is, to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life,! John 17:3; and therefore to lay Jesus Christ as the only foundation for our children to follow the moral principles of the Ten Commandments."

    James Madison, the primary author of the Constitution of the United States, said this:"We have staked the whole future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments."

    Most of what you read in this article has been erased from our textbooks. Revisionists have rewritten history to remove the truth about our country's Christian roots.
