I have no experience of getting a i-131. The trip back home next month means much to me and our family. I have been in the US for three years, really miss my family and We finally are able to throw out a small wedding banquet for them. 

I will call for an field office appointment, hoping they can understand. Do anybody have such experience? Pls share. I have booked ticket and almost get everything for my wedding banquet done. I m really worried n uncomfortable.

I am on pending i-485 but I received my combo cards (work authorization & advance parole) last year. Since it is going to expired in coming March. I called the office and heard I could send applications for the renewal in 90days, so I got everything ready and finally the post reached the office in mid-Jan. I thought it’s not the first submission just requesting a renewal of card. And I have stated the expiration day also on the form.  Assumed they will send a new card to me soon, I need to travel back home, so I booked my travel ticket.. 

Now I only got NOA letters saying they are processing the applications. Can anyone tell me how long the office usually sends the new card to you? Is it possible the government haven’t sent out a new valid card to us before the old card expired? I am worried to travel outside without a valid combo card. What should I do next ?

Hi Everyone, 

Hope anybody who has the same case can answer my question. I received a combo card finally yesterday. Now my husband asked me about the Social Security Number for insurance. I didn’t get one before. I remembered when I filled the forms either 1-485 or I-765, they asked me if I needed them to arranged a SS card for me. I said yes and ticked the box. My question is: do I need still to go myself to social security office and apply the card or I can wait and UCSIS will do everything for me and send the card to me ?

I will put all forms in one big envelop, so if both i-485 and i-131 need a copy of my passport. Do i need to make 2 individual sets of copies or just 1 set for both forms?

Hi All, I am working on i-485 on computer, when I came to Page 9 Part 8 about eligibility grounds, why I can't type it anything for items 2 - 13b? I am currently still a member of charity organization like YWCA, does it also belong to one category and I have to fill it in?

Hi, I am filling in 1-485 and came across a question. On page 4, it asks about the Receipt number and the priority date from Underlying Petition.

1) Is Receipt Number of Underlying Petition the number starts with WACxxx on top of i-129F?

2) I don't know where is Priority Date of underlying petition, I found few dates on top of 1-129F, one on left relates 'the petition is approved for status and valid for 4 mths from the date of action'; one on right of WACxxx under the barcode; and another date inside the action block on top left under the word APPROVED.

Please help and if you are also filling all forms, keep it up !!

Hi, I came with a K1 and married within 90 days. I almost finished my AOS package the end of last year (2016). Then husband unluckily got sick and on sick leave from work till recently (Thanks God! the tough time was thru) We hurried back to the filing documents, but unfortunately learnt that almost all documents were updated except the form for work permit. I read i-485 and it become 12 pages more. I am so frustrating as l remember the time we had been preparing the package for a month, consultation on Net, legal organizations. Absolutely don't wanna to deal with piles of paper again. I have got some questions which I want to seek help here:

1) Can I file and post my old forms out now?

2) For 1-693, I had done my medical checkup (blood test, lung x-ray, skin test) with almost all vaccination shots in my hometown except a last shot of TP/TDP in my hometown. I did them 2 years ago. I remember I handed over a sealed brown big envelop received from my doctor in hometown to the officer when I landed and it was not returned to me. Is that meant now I only need to get the last TD/TDP shot with a local doctor's filled i-693 with me?

3) I am in San Francisco, due to we hadn't made up to marry or not, we got married finally in Nevada Reno. I see the new i-485 needs me to fill in the location of our marriage. Hope I don't worry too much, will UCSIS query the city where we marry..?

4) I married Feb, 2016, now file the documents, will my application be affected since I did not do AOS earlier? WIll I be asked during the interview?

Some of my friends also married overseas, but I have come a tough way till now. Hope somebody can share with me. Thanks!!

On I-94, the departure date is expired, can I still quote i-94 record number on I-485 as it means this form is not valid anymore.

And am I not eligible to apply SSN?

Hi, I arrived with a K1 visa and got married in 90 days. My husband and I still took time to compromise and adapt each other's living style after the registration. Then we decided to apply for my adjustment of Status finally, but it is already 3 months after our marriage. I know that many couples will finish marriage and submission I-485 within 90 days. Is that ok we fill in forms and continue the procedure like other couples or we need to renew my I-94 form before we move next? (As we need I-94 record number for I-485 but the date on it is expired). Please advice, many thanks.
