1. Hey, everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    Do you remember me?

I'm so excited!!!!!!! My Mom got her visa!!!!!!!!:dance::dance:

I haven't talked to her yet because she is on the way home from Moscow but I know she got approved! Our congressman, Artur Davis called us today early in the morning to let us know they got a reply from the Embassy that my mom is approved!! Such a relief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy! She is coming in July when my baby is due!!!!!!! WOW!

    Congrats Annabelle

hope your mom enjoys her stay and has lots of bonding time with her grandchild....pictures pictures and videos...so both (grandma and baby) can enjoy them as time goes by after she leaves

    Best Wishes

    Michele

  2. I'm wondering what date shows up on the EAD card? So if the USCIS case status website informed us on the 3rd card production was ordered, would the date be the 3rd? Or is it some later date?

The card we got said the 19th but the email said to production on the 23rd and we got an email on the 24th saying it was approved  ...we got the card on the 26th but was not in the system yet to get a SS number...called today and still no number has been assigned at the SS office  . So we still wait....

  3. Personally I do not care if it is silver or white (gold, plat, or titanium)

I just really HATE diamonds...my preference would be a saphire, but would take

a ruby, emerald, or topaz or some other pretty colored stone....even just a plain band

would be more acceptable to me than a diamond.....

but I guess that what makes us each special...

we all have our likes and dislikes!!!

  4. WoW wins...

Half life 2 also was fun!

63 Mage on Thunderlord...among many many others...

I played Everquest for 5 years...then they changed it :(

I started playing computer games way back with diablo, diablo2, warcraaft, star craft, Ultima Online, and then to Everquest...I hated the changes they made after Brad left also.

Have waited a long time for Vanguard Saga Of Heroes to come out (also made by Brad) but with a new husband at home don't have much time to play and the monthy fee I just can not justify right now so it will have to wait some more..so right now I am playing Sleuth and a few other free games I have found online.

  5. Hello~~Today we had our AOS interview and it went very well. We got there about 1 hour ahead and the immigration officer was pretty nice to us. He asked us to swear first and then he only asked me few questions such as my name, address, birthday, what was I going to school for and asked my hubby the same questions (name, address, birthday) and asked how we met. My hubby told him the story and I mentioned that we have been together for 5 years. He was surprised when he heard it. We were actually talking about other things that are not related to our case. Maybe after 10 mins or so, he just said that our case is approved. I asked him if he wants to see our photos because I am fully prepared for this interview. He said he believes us so there is no need to see anything at all!! It was kinda funny though. The interview was so short and easy. I guess its a good thing! He mentioned that they are still waiting for my FBI background check and once they receive it, they will send me the green card?

Does anyone has the same exprience as mine? How long it takes? I am still waiting for my EAD and AP at this moment. (applied for AOS on the end of January)

We applied for our EAD mid-Jan, NOA1 was Jan. 19th, today 4-23 we got the email that the EAD Card has been ordered for production!!! So hopefully yours will be approved soon as well.

    Good Luck,

    Michele & Omer

  6. Yes. Some people still do follow the K3 route, some don't. It's up to you.

I think what happened is that your NOA2 (the approval notice) got lost in the mail or something, but the AOS fee bill made it..

From looking at their timeline, I wondering if the NOA1 got lost and they recieved the NOA2, usually the NOA1 only takes 2-3 weeks to be received and about 2-3 months for the NOA2.

    Just a thought?!?!?!?!

  7. Will do thank you for all the information. So how is your process going? Did you guys straighten things out in Turkey?

We will find out in the next few days. We sent back the document they asked for, and the passport, on Tuesday. The only worry my wife and I have is about the fact that we just "added" another page to her passport, and it has the "married" name now, which matches the new birth certificate. But we could never tell if the Embassy wanted us to change the passport entirely, or if just adding a page in the married name was sufficient. We are a bit concerned, because I know the USA , with our own passports as US citizens, won't make changes to the passport. They have to issue an entirely new one. In Turkey, for their citizens, they don't make them have to get an entire new passport like we do and still allow them to just make changes.

But...as I wrote above, it is SO hard to get hold of people at the Embassy, even harder than at the NVC, and my wife and I are just a bit worried they'll pick on the fact that we didn't change the whole passport to match the birth certificate name, and only added a page with a photo and the married name. (which unfortunately, the passport agency in Turkey wrote everything in Turkish)

So, who knows................? I tried real hard two days ago to contact the Embassy by phone, with no luck, and also last Thursday wrote an email, which they never responded to. So, we just sent in everything regardless and are now hoping for the best, rather than keep waiting for a response.I want my own wife here.....as much as you do yours, and am tired of waiting.

I have been there......like you are now..............and continue to be until this is all done. Dealing with these government agencies, and trying to get any kind of concrete answer from them is like "pulling teeth". So, I could DEFINATELY relate when I saw your first post and your obvious frustration.

A few other things I forgot to mention.

2-3 days after the completion of our case at the NVC, I called the NVC again, and heard through their automated system that our case was fowarded to Ankara. Keep an eye out for that.

I suggest you call them tommorrow, (if no news, then Friday)...............and see if your case has been fowarded to Ankara. If it has, then I think that is one more step in the right direction, and at that point you should feel more confident you will have your interview soon.

I was able to hear that our case was fowarded just by listening to the automated system. Hopefully you'll be fortunate enough to hear that too.........so you can aviod having to try and get hold of a "live" person at the NVC, which I am sure you know is a big lesson in frustration to be able to even get hold of an operator. (but....be prepared...Ankara is even harder to get hold of if you need to).

Also, I think I need to add that I live in Florida. If you live in New York, so close to New Hampshire.........if you do indeed get an interview in the beginning of May (hopefully)...........then I think you would get mail even sooner than I did down here. We got our packet a week afterwards.......but then again, I am much farther south from the NVC than you are.

Good luck again to you and your wife.

My husband had his passport updated in Turkey so it would be good for the 2 years the K-3 visa is good for, otherwise his passport would have expired before we have his CR-1/IR-1 interview. We showed the page that added the "extra" year to his original passport and the embassy was fine with the change made to it.

Hope you hear something soon from the embassy and your wife can come home soon.

  8. I believe it is country specific. It goes a lot smoother for countries like Germany, France etc. compared to African and mena countries where applicants are often

scrutinized in detail, frequently harrassed for bona fide relationship issues.

In my opinion it benefits you being there, even if not allowed in the interview, just knowing you are waiting outside can make the difference to the conoff.

I beleive that in the Ankara website it says it prefers that the SO be at the interview. It is not mandatory but that they suggest it made me want to be there with my husband.

  9. My wife had her K-3 interview last August and will do her CR-1 interview next week. She said the entire K-3 interview process was quite formal. All of her supporting documents were checked by a clerk first, then she waited for a half hour for her interview and the interview itself was quite short, mainly concerned with checking that her medical and supporting documents were complete and in order. Has anyone gone through both the K-3 and CR-1 interview process at the same embassy? Were they similar or do CR-1 interviews differ in intensity?

I have no anwer for you...but we also are planning on going back for my husbands CR-1/IR-1 interview rather than adjusting in the USA. I was also wondering how the interviews differ. Please let us know, how things go. Did she get her medical done here or was her medical for her K-3 still good?

By time the interview is I am sure, he as well as myself, will be ready for a visit to his family and friends.

Wish you well on your interview.

  10. Oh dear, I didn't send my original birth certificate with my I129F- I didn't know Ankara required it. All I sent was a notarized front and back copy. Does anyone know how I might send this/ if it is possible to pre-empt and RFE?

No where did I read that certain countries required originals. Maybe it's different for the I130?

Ankara does not need your original birth certificate, they only need the originals from the finance/spouse receiving the visa. I brought along to the interview my original birth certificates and divorce papers, but they did not request to see them, they said they did not get a translated copy of my husbands birth certificate and I had a certified copy of that with us also (brought certified copies of all the documents he sent...just in case). I guess it does not hurt to call and find out but they mainly use your info to process the application here and use his info at the embassy.

    Good Luck,

    Michele and Omer

  11. Hi,

I am a K3 visa holder about to apply for EAD, and I'm in a time crunch because I have a job offer that requires me to start in about 3 months under the condition that I will have this EAD. I really need this job badly, and so I'm racing against time here. Could someone help me answer a couple of questions?

    1) How soon can a person start employment after the EAD application gets approved? Is the physical card necessary before one can start employment? And how long does it actually take to get the physical card after the EAD application gets approved? It seems like it takes approximately 90 days to get the EAD approved, is that correct?

    2) The note on the webpage that has the link to the I-765 application says, for (a)(9), LIFE K3/K4 category, the application must be filed at

    Box 805887

    Chicago, IL

    60680-4120

But the application itself says, that "If your response to Question 16 is (a)(9), mail your application to":

    USCIS

    P.O. Box 7218

    Chicago, IL

    60680-7218

    Which is the correct address?

    Thanks.

We sent our EAD for our K3 to the USCIS PO BOX 7218 address and it is being processed. They sent our application to CSC and sent out the biometrics the same day. We applied in mid-january and had the biometrics in early feb. still no approval or card yet but they have been touching our account the last few days so I am hoping the card will be approved soon. We are not doing AOS here we will be continuing our CR-1 visa so we did not apply for AOS at the same time as most people do.

No idea if the letter of getting an EAD card is good enough for employment or not but from what I have seen people say on here that usually within a few days of approval that their EAD card arrives.

  12. Okay, so my husband filled out the W7 and sent it to me. I went to H&R Block to file my taxes. I did a married filing jointly. They told me to send my return with his W7 and the notarized copy of his passport to the address given. I went to the post office today to mail everything. I noticed that it asked for my husband's signature if we are filing jointly! H&R Block failed to mention this to me. I had spoken to the IRS a few weeks ago (for about 2 hours) and they never told me this either! Do I now need my husband to sign before I mail this off???? This is such a pain! I guess since I am going in a few weeks for his interview, I will just have him sign when I go, but I was hoping to get this taken care of now so we can have some money for his flight home!!!!!!

    Any suggestions????????

I was told by the IRS hotline that if you husbands agrees, you can sign the form for him if he is unavailable to do it himself....this was a few years ago when I needed to do this but I would call and ask if that is still allowable.

  13. I need info from people that received their visas from Ankara...

After the interview, and visa is approved.

How long does it take for the visa to arrive in the mail?

My husband's interview is on Tuesday, March 27th.

I am going to Turkey to be with him that day, and I made

my flight to come back to USA on Wednesday, April 4th.

That gives us a week to receive the visa in the mail,

    is that enough time?

I've heard that it takes about 3 days, but I'd like to hear

    about other people's experiences.

    Thanks!

    Dayna

We had our interview on Nov. 1st, also a Wednesday.

I had wanted to come back and pick up his visa and that was not an option.

She told us that his visa was being printed as we were leaving the counter and went to the UPS table to fill out his address forms.

My husband lived in a small village in SE Turkey and mail/UPS takes forever to get there. He called UPS on Friday at the main office in Sanli Urfa and it was there, but said it would not get to his village until the next Friday as that is the day they delivered there. We had plane tickets to leave on that Friday, UPS lets go to their office in Urfa and pick it up on Saturday but we needed to show the plane tickets to them at that time.

So, if you leave in a large city it is likely you will have the visa by Friday or Saturday, if not give UPS a call and work something out with them.

    Good Luck on your interview!!!

  14. Hi,

To those applying for a visa through Turkey, how does someone get a police report/clearances? (What are the steps/procedures?) Also, how long does it take to get it?

    Thanks.

I got this answer from a different posting of a similiar question hope it helps!!

If you go to ADLI SICIL GENEL MUDURLUGU-the directorate of criminal records building in Ankara in the morning and gie the ID of Turkish citizen and pay 3 Lira per copy you get it from the same place in 3 hours.

The directorate is located in Kizilay. If you ask people when you/your spouse gets there you should have no problem finding the place.

Also the document is in English so you do not need any translation..no expenses for having that translated.

    Good Luck!!!

  15. Heck yes I'm watching!! Go Pack!!!

I'm not just a fan but also on owner!!

That's one thing that makes the Packers special....

I'm so jealous!! One day though in the near future.....I will finally get to visit Green Bay and one dream in life will be completed....

I don't think I will ever get to see a game played at Lambeau Field, but I did get to see the Packers kick the Bears butt a couple of years ago when Chicago was redoing Soldier Field and they played at U of I in Champaign!! It was so cool!!

Way back in high school our marching band got to play at a game for the pre-game and half-time shows, so we got to see the game from the sidelines!

My dad had to watch us at home on the TV, I am sure he would have come as a chaperon if he had been asked.

  16. Ooooooo boy.

Hey Janice I've seen you around but hadn't said hi. Hope your New Year will be a good one.

I think you should probably name his as the father, or else ask this question of an immigration lawyer. In the US, even though a father might not be named, it's still assumed there's one out there and he has paternal rights. I think you are going to have to get permission from him anyway to bring her over. The member mags had to do that recently.

In Georgia, if you are unmarried they will NOT let you put a name in the father's space until he can sign the birth certificate, there by verifying his paternaty to the child. A mother can not just add the paternal partner even if he asks to be listed if he can not be there to sign the original form...they would then have to have the certificate edited later to have him added to the document.

If the bc has no one listed as the father I would not list one on the form either and write on the form maybe "unknown" or something to that effect.
