  1. I have read similar post but I want to make complete sure that nothing has changed. Me and my fiancée are nearing the end of our process with the inerview less than a week away but she received an email from the embassy in Manila. The email is calling it an immigrant visa interview and is saying to bring the DS-260 confirmation page. She has already filled out the DS-160 and printed the confirmation page from that. Is this simply an error on the embassy's part? Is something possibly wrong? Or should we really fill out the DS-260? She tried to email them but they have not responded back sadly. Thank you for your help.

  2. She has already tried that but they all say no walk ins unless under a few emergency criteria which we do not fit in...Still have not received a confirmation email nor have we been able to contact anyone that can help us. She's also afraid to travel alone and go far to unfamiliar places which I can't blame her so our options are rather limited with the city being all filled up even if we could secure a slot.

  3. Thank you all for your help. That does ease some of the stress.

Has anyone had recent dealings with the Philippines passport services? We can't even get an appointment established because of their new system not working. It's becoming very troubling and frustrating. We are both at a loss.

  4. Sorry if this isn't the best place to post this but I seem to have trouble figuring out where my questions should be categorized.

Me and My Fiancee are currently waiting to hear from the NVC as we received out NOA2 last week. Unfortunately we have hit sort of a snag right now. She has yet to get her passport and the process has moved along faster than expected which is great but now I'm starting to worry if we will be able to finish before our NOA2 expires. She has all the IDs necessary to apply however the earliest appointments we can find to schedule is not until October and it will then take time from there to receive the passport. On our first attempt we scheduled an appointment for the 17th of October which is heartbreaking to even think about but our confirmation email never came. Upon calling the DFA they said that they have issues with yahoo and to wait for three days for the appointment to expire and try again. Apparently since August 17th of this year they switched to a fully online process so they no longer will help us over the phone. So we waited until last night and were able to reschedule for October 5th! A much needed improvement and we used a gmail account (both yahoo and gmail are the recommended emails to use according to the DFA site btw) but now almost 12 hours later still no confirmation has arrived. We are both getting quite nervous over the situation. She sent them an email, plans to call today when she get up, and even plans to go into an office if that does not prove effective. Has anyone else run into a similar issue and has a fiance(e) in the Philippines? If anyone has any advice or insight on this matter we would both greatly appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to read my long post :)

  5. So I received email that my case was approved on the 11th of this month and I just received my NOA2 today in the mail. In the NOA2 it says that the NVC should send me my case number in the mail within 2-4 weeks and that I should wait at least 1 month before contacting them if I still need my case number. However, I have read on other K-1 visa help sites to email the NVC or call them just a week after being approved to get your case number. My beneficiary is in the Philippines and from what I have read things can proceed forward as soon as the case arrives in the Manila embassy. So really all I would like to know is, should I just wait right now for a letter? Or should I go ahead and try to make contact come around the 18th? Any insight is greatly appreciated, thank you.

  6. They are in a different province, she works in Manila and they are in Rizal but the overall total distance is not that much on a map. Coming from the states it just seems crazy how far they will travel just for work. Though that's why she mainly will stay at her dorm in Manila. Anyway, thank you very much for all your help, I really appreciate it and you've provided a lot of good advice.

  7. Alright, I read it over again. Assuming it is the proper way then an attachment is acceptable and I-129F is what should be put in the other box. However, it does not answer my concerns about the permanent and current address situation. I'm not sure how big of a deal that will be to put in properly so long as all addresses are accounted for to the best of her ability.

  8. Hello,

Me and my Fiancee are having some problems with filling out the G-325a and I was hoping someone on here could assist. I keep finding conflicting results when I search myself so I could use some clarification.

    1. Down toward the bottom it says "This form is submitted in connection with an application for:", I know I need to check the other box but I'm unsure as to what I put in it. Some help sites say I should put "In support of K1 visa" while my fiancee puts in "K-1 Visa". Well there is not enough room in that tiny box for me to type that. Other places will say put I-129F in the box. So I just want to know what is the proper acceptable thing to put in there.

    2. My fiancee's place of work has far too big of a name and address to put in the box. Is it acceptable for her to put in the box "See attachment" and then staple a piece of paper to the form giving the detailed information on her work?

    3. Lastly, my fiancee is from the Philippines and she says that they have both a permanent residence and a current residence there. So her permanent residence is with her parent and she does go home frequently but her current address is at her dorm where she spends most of her time due to work. Also during our process there is a possibility that she will just go back home to stay. So I was wondering, would it be wise to include in an attachment a more detailed list of places she has lived giving her permanent address and current address, or should she just put her parents home as her present address at the top and put her dorm up to the current month?

Any help is appreciated, thank you for your time.

  9. Alright, Thank you all for your advice. Though, I have read over all the government sites I can find over the topic and many guides including the ones located here but I still can't seem to find any details on the more specific aspects of my questions. Regardless, I am aware that I still have a fair amount of time in regards to the financial support portion of the process now. Hopefully I will be in a sufficient position from the government's perspective that they will approve come that time.

  10. Hello,

I'm new to this forum and getting ready to tackle the K-1 visa process. Everything seems overwhelming and out of reach but I'm trying to take things one step at a time.

My fiancée lives in the Philippines and I recently got to meet her in person back in February. We've known each other for what's getting close to two years now and we are really wanting to bridge the distance between us.

However, I'm confused about a few things and worried I may not be able to get her here.

When filing the I-129F do I not need to include anything in regards to my financial situation? I know this comes into play but I'm not entirely sure where. Or is it really all to be in the I-134 packet I am to send to my fiancée and she is to use it during her side of the process?

Also I'm concerned about whether my financial situation will prove adequate. I'm still rather young and I've been progressively earning more as the years go on. Last years W-2 shows enough income was earned however I quit that job (of which I was employed for 4 1/2 years), took two months off to prepare for my trip and to visit her, then immediately started searching for a job early March.

However, I did not have resounding luck with finding something immediately. I wasn't able to start until late April, as such I am still waiting for two good pay stubs. The job is only part time and possibly temporary due to review periods. Despite that I am earning enough that if I worked the whole year at my current rate I would be above what I need to earn.

So I am wondering, is this going to go against me or should I still be alright? Also, I noticed on the I-134 that things like life insurance, bank savings, and property can be listed. How important are these aspects? Would it be a good idea to get a life insurance policy? I have a good amount of savings and I could possibly list a fair amount of property:

Sorry for the long post, any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
