  1. Hey guys,

When i first started gathering the document that are requested for the interview i went to to translate the papers then the translator told me that there is a new law and i need to do the apostille before he starts working on my papers, i said they didn't say anything about that but he said its important and he needs to get them ready before the he starts the translation.

I asked a guy who works in the embassy as a security guard and he said yeah we will need it.

After the interview i found out that they will be needed after getting the visa.

So they are not needed for the interview.

We are so sorry guys, we thought it was so important to have it before as we were told so we saw the need of telling everyone and sharing the info.

I wish you all good luck.

AJ17 thank you for sharing the info

did your visa get approved? sorry actually i did not understand what you trying to say. Now is the translator still can translate the documents without apostille or is a must? and another question. did you apostille your documents or not and what is the point of apostille the papers after getting visa if is not needed for interview purposes. sorry again i'm just try to understand and be ready, since my interview next month.

  2. Thanks dreamtor

this is just a more work for us. they should let us know if we have to do it before interview. i get confused because normally they will ask for new police record if expires only. now with this new process i'm not sure if they will ask for all documents to be certified with apostille and translated again. its really a pain

  3. Question, My country (Morocco) just started requesting apostille documents to be submitted along with the original documents and translations. Could someone from a country that requires apostille provide me with some information on this. Thank you

    Hi dreamtor,

Please how you find out that the consulate in Casablanca asking for apostille. I checked the embassy website and i did not see anything about it. Thanks

  4. I have a quick question for people who are at the NVC stage, how long it took them to assign you a case? Also when you guys filled out the application, is there a guideline available or a sample available? I want to start gathering my information before i receive the NOA2.

My PD for my husband is March 22 so I am hoping that I receive an answer sometime this week.

go to NVC visa processing website and you will find detailed information about every step with forms samples and frequently questions.

  5. I have contacted my state congressman office

And he emails them to potomac and they tell them pretty much the same thing everytime. That my file is undergoing background check clearance. It's been a while like this i don't know how long this background check takes. I also submitted a case inquiry early this month and they told me that I should recieve something from them in 60 days. I don't believe them because they said the same thing more than 3 months ago!

The same situation here PD was september 28, 2015 and stuck for security checks pending. unfortunately nothing we can do and nobody can help. just wait wait wait

from what i see on old same situations it take for them between 10 months and 1 year to be approved.

    hopefully you hear something soon
