I was on H1b too, and submitted I-485 last October 2016. I didn't submit any police clearance and my application is approved. Usually, H1b has SSN and that would use for background check. Please see my timeline in my signature.
Is your wife in United States or doing consular processing? Consular processing requires police clearance. I was in United State and adjusted while here.

No need for police clearance.

My PD 29 Sep. 2016, got NOA2 1 Sep 2017, I am F2A category living in the States as F1 visa tell getting my green card
What is the benefit that chart B moves 8 months, and does this mean that I can apply for work permit as soon as I receive the WL? little bit confused what to do next step.
Thanks
Be sure to check if in USCIS website you can use Chart B. Yes, you can apply I-485, work & travel permit using this chart. I applied too last year around October 2016. see my signature below

my sponsoring spouse quit a few months ago and till the interview last week didn't have work. however, she never claimed for unemployment benefit. I'm on H1B too, and that could be use as part of the household income. we just brought an updated I-864, our 2016 tax returns, and proof that my job is full time and will continue after immigration. The officer never asked about an updated I-864. We got approved the next day.

which field office did you go? We had our interview in Seattle last Monday. No updates online but got a notification from USPS that I have letter from USCIS. I haven't received the letter yet. Will see.

The stereotyping in general that people come from certain country would have an extreme vetting.. To be fair, same vetting regardless of country of origin. That would ensure security for the country. But then again, that would make all process and wait longer.
-
I heard from news that Trump wants vetting from certain list of countries. It's very unfair if this is true. I had my interview on Monday and until now didn't heard anything. I'm on F2A Philippines.

My priority date is August 20 and I received interview letter 2 weeks ago. My interview is on August 7.

Finally, after a long wait I will have my interview on August 7. But sadly, my spouse the sponsor doesn't have a job for the past 5 months. Though I'm on H-1B and make more than the required wage. Still, I don't look forward for the interview anymore.

@Chejemmie thanks for updating. I'm glad your journey is almost over. Congratulations for the baby! did you have to follow up for an interview?

Anyone received interview letter for F2A jul-aug2015 priority AOS?
-
-
if uscis updates the bulletin for dates for filling and your priority date is current then you can file i-485 AOS.. are you in the United States? If not, you have to wait for the NVC letter and follow the process of NVC processing..
-
@seme all the best for your interview
-
@itsdavidking I received the same letter.. I'm on F2A but doing AOS. Do you understand what it means?
-
Hey guys,
I received a letter from NVC stating..
"We returned immigrant visa petition MNL2016******* to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). If you have more questions about this case, please contact USCIS".
What does this mean? Did any of you guys who are in AOS received this?
-
i'm so happy to hear that. That has been a very long wait for you.. Thanks for keeping us posted.
-
I'm happy to hear that @seme. That's quite a wait. Good luck for your interview. I'm afraid that my I-693 will expire before my interview.. oh well, better keep that up to date.
Probably, it depends how busy the USCIS on the city where you live.
-
i hope all is well with you.. Did any of you guys get interviewed?
-
I hate that they don't take a look at papers closely. My application too is subject careless scrutiny :(. Try doing an infopass and if not you might need to appeal. Keep us posted with the denial letter.
-
i filed in october too with chart b being current. is your visa expired when you filed?
-
@jaggi was your i-130 approved? did you get married? what's the reason for denial?
-
Finally, my I-765 was approved yesterday after 118 days. AP is still the same status.. oh well..
Congratulations for the approval!

I didn't receive any RFE or RFIE.. i just happened to be of the unlucky folks whose files were left on a forgotten stack of papers. lol.
For expedite process, you need to have a job offer, proof of hardship.. It might be helpful too, if you ask help from your local congressman.
Domestic travel after submission of AOS application?
in Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas

it's good to have NOA1 while travelling since visa is expired. some state police ask for immigration status, you'll never know. the administration, has been looking into disallowing AOS on visitor's visa for marriage based
