Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to reply to my post, I appreciate it very much. We have decided to wait until after my g.f s court date to request a Visa for the child. My g.f. is also having her interview in Feb., I was actually hoping for a little later date hoping that she would go to court first but the interview date has shipped up on us so fast! I thought about asking for a a later date but my g.f. was not too happy with this idea! ha-ha I pray that all goes well with you guys and everything works out in your favor.

    God Bless You

  2. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Everyone

I have a question and I would very much appreciate your help! My g.f has a daughter that has a screwed up birth certificate. When the daughter was born the sister of my g.f. told the staff at the hospital that my g.f was married so they put the father’s name on the birth certificate of the child. (SHE WAS NOT MARRIED)

I have hired an attorney to get it corrected but it looks like the interview date will be before the court date. So we have decided that my g.f. will come here first and we will request a visa for the child later. My question is concerning the 156k form question 5. (WILL FOLLOW YOU), is this question pertaining to this paperwork meaning she will come on my original 129F within the next year? I’m concerned if she checks this block the embassy will put her on AR until after the court date and who knows when that will be! Does anyone have any thoughts or experience concerning this type of problem?

Well you are not the only one, we will also bring her 2 year old son with her. She went too DFA too give them a copy of her cenomar (certificate of no marriage) to DFA as proof of not being married. The Birth mother as the rights too take her daughter out of country as she sees fit. She will go next week too get his Passport and pay for there interview fees.

Sure we are just as worried as you are. Even Larry and Jeramie are having the same issues as we are. I hope her birth certificate will not be an issue for you. No one wants to be put on AR.

    Good luck and god bless!

Thanks for the reply and I wish you guys the best of luck!

I guess I'm just too afraid to try this until the courts correct the b.c., I will bring my g.f. first and request a visa for her daughter at a later date. We are in a little different situation than you guys because the daughter is 8 years old and she is now attending a private school to learn English so I think another year or two will help her alot. The family has agreed to take care of her until we can get the birth certificate corrected.

    God Bless You!!

Hi and thanks for the information. We have decided to wait until after my g.f s court date to request a Visa for the child. I'm concerned that if she tries to bring the child now it will only cause AR and only God knows for how long that would take.

  6. I have four questions that I need answers to and I would truly appreciate your help.

First, how will the packet be sent to my gf, regular mail or by other means?

Second question, the list that is posted with interview dates, how often is it posted and did I understand correctly that it has the interview dates three months in advance?

Thirdly, will I receive and e-mail or letter informing me of the interview date for my gf?

Last, how do you find out when your file is received in Manila. I called NVC and was told that it was sent out Oct. the 11th.

    Thanks

    1) Snail Mail letter from the embassy acknowledging the date they received your petition

    2) The interview link is not reliable, so it is best to call the Embassy between 0730-0800 am, but wait until they have your case for about 90 days before you start calling.

    3) I have not heard of the embassy emailing anyone. Most Receive Packet 4 witht he required forms and the interview date as well as the scheduled medical dates.

    4) Once the NVC send it out, it is out of their hands. The letter your finacee receives will have the received date on it.

    Patience... good luck, Ken

    NO

    THANKS

There is a wealth of information regarding this embassy here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...181&st=2430

current wait is 120 to 150 days to interview after embassy confirms receipt of your petition approval. Spouse will receive letter and checklist via regular mail a couple of weeks or so after embassy processes your received petition. Then you are in another waiting line for interview date.

    good luck

    Ok, thanks for the info!

  9. Luz and I have made a decision. Due to things that I would rather not get into we have decided to stop trying for her visa. I am going to give up my job and move there. Luz is starting right now to find me work there. I thank you all for your support and friendship. This will be the last day I will be on VJ. Good luck to you all.

    Gary and Luz

Gary you will be greatly missed here! I hope you and Luz the best of luck! You have spent alot of time helping everyone with your timelines and I appreciated your help very much and I'm sure everyone else does too.

I'm sure you already know that jobs are hard to find there and even if you find one they do not pay very well. I hope you will reconsider giving up on your visa.

  10. I want to apologize to Kirsten and everyone else for doing something stupid yesterday! I was so excited about being approved I sent a copy of my approval letter to a group of people that filed close to the same date as I did. Kirsten has already told you all the results of my mistake! I should have been more thoughtful but I think I was in shock because I was not expecting an approval so soon. I’m sooo sorry I caused her and anyone else pain because they mistook my approved for theirs.
