    Yes, same here.

This is so strange I assumed ( probably incorrectly )  the fingerprints part is done centrally and would get a response in a couple of months . I guess a June completion looks unlikely

    1) I submitted a cover letter with mine. I have done this with the K-1, AOS application, and I-751 removal of conditions. A detailed cover letter outlining every piece of evidence I had uploaded, so that there would be no question as to what I uploaded. There is no requirement to do this, which is why you won't find consensus. But if they say "you didn't submit X", I can say, "You can see it's Exhibit 7b labeled page 46 and here is the PDF in my file reflecting that."

2.) I didn't fill out the "additional evidence" or "evidence of name change" section bc they didn't apply. When yo uclick "next" it will give you the warning that failing to upload evidence may delay your case, but I think it's just a system blanket warning that if any section is left "blank" they warn you that that might not be a good idea. I was certain these didn't apply to me so I clicked next again and it lets you go onto the next page.

I submitted a long cover letter (long because i made a table of all the contents/documents that i submitted with my n400 application and categorized them) but i like it that way so that's its full proof and i won't get an rfe. Hehehe. And they can't say i didn't submit whatever either. I also wrote a short 3- 5 sentence introducing my self and my journey as a k1, getting married and doing aos and then that i'm applying for n400 under ina 319b. And then anothe paragraph explaining my why i wanna apply for it and then another paragraph explaining my schedule and another asking to expedite mine. But yeah i have just had that table/chart with the entire contents in my k1 fiance visa packet and aos packet. So i continued it with my n400. The officer at my interview for my aos was very impressed with my detailed and easy packet and tabs. (I placed codes on tabs) So yeah that encouraged me so much. But its up to you if you want or not want to do a cover letter. I sent mine by mail too so it makes more sense to have a cover letter. But for those that send it in via online.. a lot of people skip that part. But for me i feel it can help your case as an intro or something.

Thanks guys. I was having severe issues with the filing website. It wouldn't let me change some of the comments so I just filed as is without the cover letter. I did try to make sure that all my files were uploaded as they kept disappearing.

Hopefully everything is on there . They are saying it might take 72 hours before my case info is available.

  4. Hey guys

About to join the September 2020 Filers. Just had a final couple of questions

1.) Did any of you submit a cover letter along with the application. I remember making a detailed cover letter for my previous visa dealings but somehow I cant seem to find a consensus that it is required or needed.

2.) I am being asked to submit Evidence about child support. I have just one child who lives with me. Is that a standard question. I was under the impression that the online form is a smart form which only asks for relevant data ( I am hoping I didn't click that my child doesn't live with me)

    Thanks in advance

  5. Hey guys

Almost about to submit my n-400 application online under the 3 year rule and had a final few questions.

  6. Thanks for tall the help guys. I actually tried to file the taxes but the person I went to said it is not required. I also went down the rabbit hole of the green card test and substantial presence test or the irs website. I am definitely not a lawyer but my understanding of the tests were that before I became a LPR any income earned is not taxable in the first year you become a resident. Any income earned afterwards is most definitely taxable.  But to save on all the confusion I think it makes sense that I go with

"I moved on -- Dec 2017, my taxable income was below the filing threshold for that year https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040gi--2017.pdf. Hence I did not file taxes for 2017. I have subsequently filed taxes for all years ( attached)."

  7. Hello

I became a permanent resident at the end of December 2017. I moved right before Christmas and didn't even start looking for work till the middle of Jan 2018 ( my SS card is dated mid Jan). I am in the process of filing my n400 on the 3 year rule. I was wondering how you guys suggest I should tackle the following questions

    image.thumb.png.eb3606aeff4af9312276e5ff9db1f43b.png

The answer here would be Yes and I would explain that in 2017 I moved on this date in December . My taxable income that year was below the threshold for 2017 (i.e. 10,400 ) so I was not required to file a return.

I have no idea what this question means but I never considered myself a non resident once I moved. I mean my residence started the day I entered the USA right ?

By the time I potentially get an interview call sometime next year I would have filed taxes for 2020. I already have taxes for 2018 and 2019. Is this the correct way to go about this.
