I saw some people waiting outside but when we arrived there were no line outside. If no line outside, yes, you go inside.

Congratulation Baby 74! I am very happy that you approved on the the spot. yes my case is different, i had a interview last year then visa was issued , then they noticed that my DS 260 expired and now they want us to return consulate for re-oath.

Question: They requested us to bring only copy of interview email and nothing else. Did they ask you to bring any other documents? Is there any rental place where we can keep our key, cellphones etc?  If you arrive 15 minute early, then at what time they will take you up....within 10minute or you wait outside in a line?

I have 2:00pm appointment and we are traveling from alberta and just planning to book our return ticket on same day. So i just want to know if my appointment is 2:00pm then probable they will not take more than 1 hour in consulate from 2pm?

On my interview letter, they only asked to bring a copy of the email of the interview appointment. Because of our situation, the consular officer asked me if I have the FIOA. I didn't have it for the interview but I knew what was wrote on it from the CBP.

When you enter in the building security guards as to show your letter appointment and then you empty your pockets and take out coats, belt...etc. (same as the airport). The security guard at the Consular keep your keys and cell phone and give you a ticket to get it back after your interview.  As soon as you are done with the security, you go to the 19th floor where someone will guide you where to wait or where to show your papers.

It took us 1hour in and out so you'll probably be ok if you plan 1 hour max there.

Good Luck Baby 74! Best of luck for your success!

I had my re-oath interview yesterday (CR1). My appointment was at 2:30pm and I arrived 15mins earlier. My husband came with me. We were waiting at the Starbuck the other side of the street before our appointment because we knew that they will not let us enter in before 2:15pm.

I was in AP for 57 days when I received my re-oath letter.

Our case might be different from other re-oath case. We had an event on the Champlain border in December 2015 that consular officer wanted more info about what happen. At the first interview, the Consular asked a question about that event and I explained that I withdraw my application for admission. She didn't asked more questions. But the re-oath interview was mainly to explain in detail what happen at the border. He had all the detail of the FIOA from the CBP. The Consular officer was professional and went deep in detail with all his questions and wanted clarification about what happen before making any decision about my visa.

Fist, he interrogated me for 15-20mins and after he interrogated my husband for 15mins. They never asked the presence of my husband to the interview but he wanted to be there the support me (even if he was really sick with food poisoning for the past 3 days), and we knew that it could be helpful for our case if he is there to answer question to the consular officer. During my interview I told the consular officer that my husband was in the waiting room and do not hesitate to call him if they need to clarify things.

Finally after 1hour at the consulate, the officer gave us the Welcome letter (the second one ! ) told us that my visa will  be issue.  30mins after the interview , it was "Ready" and  2 hours after the interview it was "Issue".

This is our case. I might be very different from other case of re-oath that I read about, that is very short and they received the Welcome letter right away.

I'm moving with my husband in 10 days and we are so happy that now, we can build our life together ! YAY !!

    Good luck to all :)

Passports were kept in consulate after our first interview and they don't request any pictures from us but definitely we will bring our Driver Lisc with us for identification and in re-oath letter they just asked us to print email copy only.

Appointment time is 2:15PM so do you know how long does it take? so i can book my return flight accordingly. Thanks Bro!

My appointment for re-oath is in 45 mins.  I'll let you know later tonight.

Thanks for update! so its mean they will give you only 4-5 days. I am worrying about traveling  because i leave in Alberta and we have two little ones to take as well. I wish they will call me in Calgary for re-oath instead of Montreal. I hope they will waive me re-oath apptm.

Please update me once you will completed your re-oath.

I read couple of blog online and as per their experience, they will ask you couple of questions again and offer you welcome letter.

Be positive and confident and keep your answer short.

GOOD LUCK and BEST WISHES from me.

    Thanks for your best wishes.

I'll let you know after my interview next wednesday.

Crossing my fingers that everything go smoothly :)

I am in similar situation. Do you know when you will submitted DS 260? They told me yesterday that my DS 260 has expired and i am wondering about validity of DS 260. Could you please keep in touch and advise about when you have submitted DS 260 first time. Mine is over 1 year now.

I did my DS-260 in October 2016. So, It's only 4 months. I thought that the "re-oath" might be because I submitted for the AP , proof of relationship that wasn't an official document (like the birth certificate, police certificate or marriage certificate). I really don't know why is the "re-oath"

It will be straight forward. Second interviews are usually called re-oath. I am glad it is almost over for you guys.

I remember you saying Valentines day would be your 60th day since you sent documents. It seems they are following the 60-day review closely. Based on this mine I could get a response by mid March. They received my documents exactly a month after yours.

Yes, you are right. This is a re-oath interview. What usually happen in that interview? Is it like the first interview? Easier or they asked for tricky questions?

Thanks a lot. Hope it'll be the same situation for us. We just want to get done with the process and begin our life together.

I had a message from the consulate to confirm my re-oath interview on the Feb 15th. So, maybe they do that because we provided to them proof of relationship that wasn't official documents (like birth certificate or police certificate). So, they asked now to re-oath the documents sent.

We'll know the response pretty soon .

  9. Hello:

I had my interview for CR1 visa in Montreal on Dec. 12th, and I was told everything looks good, here's the "Welcome to the USA letter", and it will take 7 days to get my passport and VISA package from the courier.  When my husband and I returned home, we were in administrative processing and they requested proof of relationship, which we provided within 7 days, and now, on Feb. 9, 2017, we received an email to re-oath at the Consulate again.

When you had your re-oath, what questions did they ask, or did you just have to take the oath again?  We are anxious because we can't understand what more they could want.  They said not to bring anything except the interview letter.

    Thank you

Hey baby74, a friend of mine  went for a second interview in Nov 2016. He told me it wasn't really an interview. They asked if anything had changed like address and stuff like that. He was told his visa was ready. He told them he would be travelling in 3 days. Then they gave him his passport with the visa right there.

Thanks a lot. Hope it'll be the same situation for us. We just want to get done with the process and begin our life together.

  11. Hi

We have been in AP since Dec 12th 2016 and been approved at the interview with the welcome letter. But, 3 hours later we have been put in AP for proof of relationship. One week later, We provided a lot of documents with 23 trips in 1,5 years, lot of pictures and  skype and whatsapp conversations.

Our case been updated again today, after 55 days in AP,  but we received also an email for a second interview (next week, on February 15th).  They don't ask to bring any papers, only to bring the re-interview letter.

I had a withdraw of application for entrance at the US border in December 2015. The Consulate officer asked me questions  about it at the interview but didn't told me that I need a waiver.

So, we don't really understand what the second interview.

Someone been in a similar situation ? or  have  clue ??

I search online about the second interview and I cannot find really good information. :(

    Thanks for your help

I agree. They are playing with people's lives and if it says issued then it should just be issued. It's a good thing that we didn't make any plans or buy tickets but we told our parents already and we got so excited.

Our case been update today but still in AP. At least, someone seems to take a look at it.

It was so weird. I don't understand what could have happened. We got all excited and then we're kinda back to square one. I hope you guys hear something soon. When is your two months up?

Our 2 months will ends up at Valentine's day. Hope that we'll have an "ready" screen by that time.

I saw on the Waivers forum http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/113-waivers-i-601-and-i-212-and-administrative-processes-221g/

I don't remember which subject I saw that post:  Posted January 11 · I have read, at least for the K-1 Visa process, that those who have seen their CEAC change from READY to AP back to READY then back to AP typically have their visa status change to ISSUED shortly, thereafter (like 1-2 days). I hope the same will happen for you. It does seem that each case is different, but as for the visa issuance process, this could be a good sign (especially since your 221G was for missing documents that you've provided and not to have more extensive background checks). Good luck!!

Hopefully this is what will happens with u guys. The system to process need to be rethink and redone. It doesn't make sense at all to switch AP to ready , twice or 3 times...for the same case ! They should not play with real people emotions by changing whatever the status if it's not a final decision. People like us planned their new life, moving their stuff, quitting their job,  ....so false ready status can create lot of problems if they decide to continue to put you in AP!

    This is ridiculous !

  15. 9 minutes ago, HopefullyHers said:

Sadly I have. On Friday the status said ready then it said issued. Then on Saturday, it said ready and then it said administrative processing on Monday, yesterday. It's been in AP since yesterday.

Ohhh no !!! I'm so sorry to hear that. :( I was so happy for you guys to know that it was over for you guys. :( Hope it'll return to issue soon .

No news for us :( Nothing is moving !

  16. 11 minutes ago, HopefullyHers said:

Actually it said Ready later today and I just checked back and it says issued!!!!!! ???

I'm soooooo happy for you guys !!! Yay !!!!! When are u planning to move to FL ?? Cold winter is over for you very soon ! :))

It gives us faith now. If it's moving for you guys, it might move for us very soon ! :))

Do it was your 60 days today in AP??

  17. 3 hours ago, HopefullyHers said:

The date was updated to feb 2, but it's still in administrative processing. Did anything move for you?

Nothing is moving for us :(

It's a good thing if at least you had an update. Maybe someone is working now on your case. Did you email them ? Seems like CEAC website do an update on the case each time we email them.

I keep a copy on file [one of my cars is a collector car that just crossed the 25 year old threshold], but once it's registered in the US with plates with a state DMV you shouldn't need a compliance letter anymore legally speaking.

The letter has to be relatively current for importation purposes but once processed by CBP and the state level DMV you are fine.

But my compliance letter date from November 2015. Do you think I'll need another one if I'll pass the customs to import it in March 2017 ?
