When I try to explain to Gregory how different things are here I know he really doesn't get it / believe me some times BUT one thing that he believes and I just go right alone with is that Women have more right in the States than men do and if a man does something wrong they will be hauled off to jail without a trial! Just wanted to let you all know that the interview was successful. It was quite easy , spent less thn 6minutes at the interview window. Having ones fiancee there certainly makes a huge difference.

Well, I have more bad news again Tony's uncle was killed last night in JA! The only details I know is that someone broke into his house and shot him twice while he was sleeping!! It is just devastating. He was only 41 or 42 years old. This is the 3rd uncle of his who has died in the past year - 2 on mom's side, 1 on dad's side. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Rhonda- I'm so sorry to hear about this senseless killing. These are some serious times, I will keep them in my thoughts.

For the new filers, did you get the REF with the same questions that were on the new forms? I just got an e-mail from someone and they also waited for the new forms and got the same repeat questions. Why do you think that is?

Two more days and I am going to my home away from home. I am so excited. Will be catching the beginning of Sunsplash in Priory. Great lineup for the first night. I am still debating if I will delay my return home to stay for the entire party....

Update: I was "touched" today so... maybe my RFE is on the way. I'll keep you posted.

I have not rec an RFE yet... I say YET because it seems like I am right behind you. From what I understand you used the new forms to file your 129F the one that asked if you used a marriage broker?? and you still got an RFE (and the person who e/mailed you same thing?) confusing.

sorry ladies but i have to let off a little steam.....no offence to the newbies who just got approved or their Noa 1

i am getting so MAD...don't get me wrong i am happy for the new people on VJ who are getting approved...but it just doesn't seem fair that a lot of them sent int there petitions in like may or even june and they are getting approved and getting NOA2's while I am approved and waiting for lord knows how long until they even get to my RFE...it just doesn't seem fair...mike would be here in the states..

my family is "dealing" with it...my sister is actaully the best out of my whole family...my parents really don't want me to do this...they feel i am making a HUGE mistake ect....it has taken my mom a little over 2 years to aknowledge that i am in a relationship...as far as ever meeting mike she says she is not sure when she will ever be able to meet him...which makes me very sad and is hard for me to understand...but for whatever reason it is hard for her...as for my dad he just wants the best for me and doesn't want to see me get hurt...how about your family???

Well my family isn't dealing with it because they don't know.. While I was in JA for a month I invited my mom to visit and she came for 12 days... On the way to JA I told her "you know I met someone right" she replied... "OH"... Gregory picked us up at the airport and stayed at the house with us in the same bedroom as me so I'm sure she got the picture. I know that challenging does not begin to describe what it will be like when we marry. The think is I'm a grown woman, 37 almost 38, and I shouldn't care what my family thinks .. to a certain degree I don't.. BUT they are my family and Ihave respect for my parents, grandparents etc... that I do care what they think... sooo......

I am very sad for your mom that after 2 years she still doesn't even want to mee the man you are going to share your life with. Difficult. ARe you originally from Philly? I use to Nanny in Boston, MA & Ohio many many moons ago... LOL

I was staying at the Gloustershire hotel in Mobay with my best friend, she was out on the balcony making conversation with passerbys while I was in the room taking a nap. Along walked Gregory and started chatting with my friend, they made plans to meet later in the hotel lobby with the understanding that her "friend that was sleeping" would be joining them. When I woke up from my nap, less than 2 hrs, my friend had somehow manged to make friends with several people while standing out on the balcony.. LOL

I was like.. uh.... what?? we're meeting WHO, WHERE, WHY ?!?!?! I wasn't all that thrilled but agreed to go along so we went down to the lobby at the appointed time and there he was... Gregory. We walked to The Brewery to get a bite to eat and a drink. By the time we had finished eating, drinking we were together.

soooo... that's the basic "how we met" story... so here we are almost 1.5 years later ... and of course many ups and downs during that time.

Since I am new to the board and at the risk of making everyone repeat themselves I would LOVE to hear how everyone met their SO... please share with me. I need some good reading, it's to hot to sleep!!

1. I rec the first NOA and at the bottom is says California service center, I sent it to Nebraska, I'm guessing this means I've been transferred to CA ?

2. I reg my receipt number on the uscis website but how can you tell if you've been "touched" ???

It's gonna be hot hot hot here all weekend BUT I'm going to the Northwest Reggae Festival.. woo hooo.. 3 days of great music! The only down side is camping in a tent... i'm not really a camping in the woods type of person but since it's gonna be so hot it will probably be nice to sleep outside!

It looks like everyone's signature has a ticker/timeline that is different than the one in "My profile" how do you do that?

Are there any topics that are OFF LIMITS?? I REALLY enjoyed the discussion regarding adjusting to life in the U.S and challenges that you've had in your relationships. It's a great heads up.

I will be going to JA Sept 3-11.. woo hoo... I was there for a month May 12th - June 10th and was planning on NOT returning till the interview or to fly home together but just could not go that long without seeing my honey! I know you cannot get a "guesstimate" but by what I've seen it seems like it will take a minimum of 6 months but more liked 6-8 months (knock on wood/cross you fingers/ well you know what I mean)

I've had contact directly with a couple people from this forum and want to say THANK YOU ! I really appreciate you taking the time to connect with me and offer your support.

Looking forward to the journey ahead.

We also sent to Nebraska as required and a week later got the NOA1 stating our case had been transfered to California.

Since then we've received the IMBRA RFE and have been touched once... Looks like they're working on March cases now, so... be patient!!

Did it actually state that you had been transferred to CSC? I can't find anything about that, and I really really want to know where my case is! :-)

I mailed my 129-f to Nebraska and it to was Transferred to CSC.. I received my 1st NOA today and at the bottom of the form it says

California Service Center

Nebraska Received my application on 7/7 and I rec the NOA today, 7/17, from CSC.

I am in the U.S. sent my 129F off to Nebraska on 7/5/05 priority mail with delivery confirmation. Nothing new on usps.com so don't know if it's reached the place yet...

I was reading, and still trying to figure it out/get a grasp, on the processing times, procedures.. when I looked at the report for Nebraska processing 129 F it said.. processed @ CSC.. ?? what does that mean?

From what I've read, and I could be wrong, it sounds like some applications were sent from 1 center to another is this correct or am I way off ?

Anyone have experience with the Jamaican government?
