  1. You need to order tax TRANSCRIPTS from the IRS - which may be what you have done. The transcript will show what the IRS has determined is your correct income and tax information based on their review of your tax returns. A copy of your return just shows what you filed, but a transcript shows what the government accepted.

If you requested a transcript, then you shouldn't have a problem with that part in future interviews.

  2. Medical results are available one week after the exam. They will tell you on the day if everything is all right, but the report and x-ray have to be picked up later. Interview will be scheduled by the embassy, and it's on their schedule - no way to know how long it will take.

End of November is WAY too soon to expect to get everything accomplished and you over to the states. After your medical, the soonest you'll have an interview is a week and a day (plan for 3 weeks, but it could be longer). THEN after your interview if you are approved it takes 10 business days for your visa to be inserted in your passport. I'd bank on a New Year's Eve wedding if I were you.

  3. Thanks. The case status shows Issued and updated on 14th June. Still no tracking number from DPD.

Oh that's so frustrating! I hope you get your tracking number soon. One thing to note - when you do start to track it through DPD, if the status changes to "cannot locate" or "goods held" - call DPD. This means they are having a delivery direction issue. They will eventually call to clarify whatever issue they are having, but they won't do it right away. This happened to us. The parcel was being delivered to Donegal, which may have been part of it because it's a bit rural. If you are in Dublin, it probably won't happen to you.

  4. Can I ask, from the time visa was approved verbally in the embassy how long did it take to get delivery of pack and stamped passport. They told me up to two weeks yesterday! Congratulations :)

We were approved verbally on June 7th. We were told 7 to 10 business days for the new passport to arrive. We received an email today, June 14, that the courier has the package for delivery. We expect it to arrive by Friday.

  5. Hi,

My interview was on June 7th 2016. I don't see any update or case status change since 8th June.

I would like to know anyone get issued or visa in hand recently.

    How long it will take?

    Thanks

We received an email reading in part:

The U.S. Department of State Consulate located in Dublin has released document related to your Visa application to our courier DPD. The document is being sent via the courier option you selected at registration. The tracking number for the package is XXXXXXXXXXX. It can take up to 24 hours after receiving this notice before your shipment is available to be tracked.

Our case status still shows administrative processing. I'll update this post when the passport is delivered. We expect it by Friday.

  6. Thank you. I found a place to write a POE review, but I found it completely by accident. http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/poe_review.php

There have been folks on here who mentioned going through Dublin as the POE is a simple experience. He has only ever gone through stateside POE for holiday so have no experience at the Dublin airport. Additionally he typically flies out of London or Shannon, so this will be completely new.

I assume we will need to separate into two different lines and meet on the other side?

Even though every situation is different, it helps to be able to picture the process.

  7. Hello, Jennifer. You're basically applying together. You will start with your application, and he will have forms to fill out too. There are guides on this website that give checklist of what is needed at what time.

Have you decided to marry in Ireland for certain?

We decided to do the K-1 fiance visa because we didn't want to be separated after we got married. The Irish citizen cannot come to the US to live until the visa is granted, so if you marry in Ireland he will not be able to come over to the US to live with you until the CR-1 is granted.

Immigration benefits just meets the right to move and live in the US. Just because we marry our Irish partners doesn't mean they will be allowed to immigrate. We have to prove that we can support a family on our US salary, and they have to prove that they are "fit" to live in the us (no criminal background that disallows them, or a medical condition that disallows them).

  8. Yes you need to wait. In the meantime the USC can get the I-134 ready. You will receive a packet that has a checklist of everything you need to do. Police Certificates from every country the beneficiary has lived in, do the medical with Dr. O'Grady in Blackrock Clinic, new passport photos in the US 2x2 format, proof of eligibility to marry (if that applies to you - I am widowed and he is divorced, so we had to have a death certificate and a divorce decree for proof), long form birth certificate, and a passport valid for more than 6 months etc. etc.

When you get the packet, Connie will have to do an online document called a DS-160 that will ask for tons of personal data - former addresses, etc. THEN if you have all the documents above (2 signed copies of the petitioner's I-134 plus all the supporting document and the beneficiaries documents from the checklist) you can submit your Notice of Readiness (also an online form). You will then receive an email with your interview date. It will also have instructions of how to register for the courier service that will return Connie's passport after the K-1 has been inserted.

    Hope this helps.

  9. We are (hopefully) at the tail end of this portion of the K-1 journey and are waiting for our interview on 6th May. I agree, Ireland is really sparse for current information on these boards! I've also learned that it's very nice to look at someone else's experience and make a prediction about your own, but in the end they aren't the same journey. For example, I asked a lovely couple about their experience requesting an interview (submitting the Notice of Readiness) and their time gap between submitting and interviewing was 9 days. We ended up with a month between submitting and our interview coming up. Lots of factors can change time frames. But I digress.

The Police Certificate was really easy to get. It sounds like you've already seen the instructions on the Garda website.

We did wait until we got our packet, but there is no requirement for that. You don't need your case number to get the certificate.

You do know that the 6 months to enter the US after a K-1 is issued is measured by the date of the medical, right?

  10. OP - take a few pictures at the courthouse - signing your marriage certificate, etc. You'll want those for sentiment anyway. Don't worry about getting dressed up for it other than looking presentable. You can have your ceremony with all the trappings on the Saturday.

For some people (and I am one of them) religion is very personal and intimate, as is any religious ceremony. I would not feel comfortable with just anyone performing my wedding ceremony, so I understand her wanting her Uncle. In this situation I think the courthouse marriage and the Saturday wedding is important for her. It would be for me.

  11. It sounds to me like that addendum was added because you already have 4 people living in the unit. You don't mention how many bedrooms you have, but I've seen leases that limit occupancy to the number of bedrooms + 1. In general, too many occupants in a unit causes a disproportionate amount of wear and tear, devaluing the owner's property. I think this is something you'd need to bring up with the landlord.

    ^ This.

The addendum doesn't negate the "spouse and child" portion of the lease language, but there may be a maximum occupancy issue. Best to talk to the landlord. They may allow your wife to move in, but they will definitely charge you more rent.
