  1. Hello Journeyers,

My husband had a Conditional Green Card (he came on a K1 Fiance Visa) that expired last summer. We appropriately filed the I-751 petition for removal of conditions within the required time frame and received a notice that his Conditional status had been extended another 1.5 yrs while we wait for the I-751 to be processed.

I was filling out some bank paperwork which asked whether my husband is a Citizen or Permanent Resident. I'm assuming that he is not one until he gets his 10 year Green Card. Is that correct? Or is he considered a permanent resident as long as the conditional residency is valid?

    Thanks!

  2. Hello!

My fiance and I just received his birth certificate in the mail. His mother's first (given) name is not the one we have been using on all of our applications to date. Apparently, the name he thought was her first name is actually her nickname. Is this going to be a problem for us when he interviews at the US Embassy in Amsterdam, when he comes to the US, or when we request an Adjustment of Status? Anyone have any experience with this kind of minor error?

    Thanks!!

  3. Hello! I just joined - thanks so much for making this process easier. I searched for an answer to my question but didn't see any similar ones, so apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere.

I am the American Petitioner for a K1 Visa, filling out the I-129f form. I am temporarily residing in Europe with my fiance while applying and waiting for his visa to be processed. A lawyer I had a consult with told me that this is not a problem.

I am using a mail forwarding service for my mail, which is a physical address (not a P.O. Box). I have listed that as my mailing address on all forms and letters in the application, as it is the fastest way for mail to reach me and the forums say that I need to include a U.S. address, as USCIS won't mail abroad.

My question is regarding question 28a of the I-129f: "Address where your fiance intends to live in the US." Given that I don't have a physical address in the U.S., and am not getting a new apartment until this Visa is processed, should I:

    1. Just use the mail forwarding address as the intended address for my fiance

    -or-

    2. Change my mailing address to a friend/family's, and list that as the answer to the friend/family address for 28a, so it matches and doesn't raise any red flags with the USCIS. (the downside being that the mail would then be delayed)

    Thanks so much!
