  1. Ya, lucky so far everything is smooth. My parents just did medical yesterday.

Do u know how I can get medical for them after they come (we live in hawaii) I tried check but too expensive.

Hope end this month u will get interview day.

    Have a great day!

I have a question about medical exam. Do you pick the date for medical exam or they pick it for you? and can you get medical examination done on the same date you schedule for medical appointment?

  2. Sorry, BigCatCougar, I haven't been on this forum lately. 10 days ago, I bought the airplane ticket for roughly 750$. I also bought 5 years multi entry Visa. I did 5 years Visa because I'm prepared for the worst. You are right about plane ticket price in July & August. They are super expensive. I might stay in Vietnam till September, I am not in hurry to return to U.S. At the moment, I'm just waiting for next week to fly back to Vietnam.

According to what you say, my wife can get her vaccinations before medical examination. Am I correct?

Last but not least, I hope you will get your interview date soon! Time goes fast if you do something to keep yourself busy. Don't forget to let me know when you receive your interview date. Bro, Thanks for the tips about vaccinations and flight tickets.

  3. I'm still folowing ur guy ,hihihi.

    Congratulations contruable!!

Im happy for u can see ur family soon , I know how u are missing them.

    Hope ur interview goes well.

Have a good time in Vietnam ok.

I told my wife that she should do medical examination 16 days before the Visa interview, but my wife wouldn't listen to me at all. Originally, I didn't plan to back Vietnam to accompany her for visa interview, but her whole family wanted me to accompany her, so I listened to them. My wife is extremely stubborn; she always want me to listen to her, but she never listen to me. Honestly, I don't think I will have a good time in Vietnam, but I will be really happy to see my daughter. Even if the interview doesn't goes well, I still can bring my daughter back to U.S. because she already got her passport & aboard certificate.

Anyways, I hope the same for you too. I hope your interview will goes smooth, and have a great time in Vietnam with your parents.

  4. Congrats PDNK!!! That means contruable and Tyler should receive theirs soon or they already have. Again congrats!! I called and a man informed me that they are still scheduling for July until the 15th of this month. Then they will start around the last week of this month for August dates. I am keeping hope but we will see. I will call again on the 15th to see if an appointment was set. Good luck to you all and I hope your wives (and parents) are here soon. We have been waiting so long now. Have a great June and happy preparing!!

PDNK & BigCatCougar, NVC sent me an interview letter through email at 3:30 P.M. I was asleep at that time. Now, I'm gonna have to book a flight back to Vietnam in June. I wanna wait for interview with my wife & daughter in Vietnam.

BigCatCougar,I hope you will get your interview date soon! PDNK, are you still gonna be browsing this forum or not? lol

  5. PDNK, do you know that... back in April, I called NVC. One of the NVC guys gave me faulty information. He told me that the interview has been scheduled for June 6 at 8:00 AM.

So back in April, I literally waited a whole week, and there was no email or anything. Then, I decided to call NVC again; another NVC guy picked up the phone call, and he told me that there is no interview date assigned to my case. (This BS story was back in APril). That's why right now I am afraid that... the same BS will happen again.

  6. To BigCatCougar,

Thanks my friend. I will let you know as soon as I receive the interview date. After I receive an interview date, I will fly back to Vietnam and attend Visa interview with my wife. I will bring all original documents. My parents will be my joint sponsor, so I will use their income. My daughter already got U.S. passport & Consular Report of Birth Abroad. Therefore, this upcoming visa interview is all about my wife.

  7. My case was complete on 4/20 so I am hoping for late July or August. This process takes way too long for Vietnam. In the Phillipines the process is way more efficient. I see that other countries have their wives already here and their case completed after ours. I guess unless you pay coffee money, its a real slow process. Anyway I am assuming the interview letter comes around the end and beginning of the month, but who knows. Contruable and Tyler should get theirs soon. I'm just notifying everyone that the consulate is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Good luck everyone and keep praying. ^^

I totally agree with you. This process takes double amount of time when you compare it with other countries. My filed I-130 was way back in October 2014. Due to misunderstanding and misguiding, I literally wasted 3 months. I've received a checklist last year October. The checklist says my wife was missing police certification, which I remember correctly that I already sent it to them. At bottom page of checklist, it stated that I don't have to send an updated form I-864 to NVC. Just need to send an updated form I-860 to interviewer (wife), so she can bring it to interview. I automatically assumed that NVC also wants her to bring police certification to interview. Then, I started waiting for interview....3 months later, I called NVC, then realized that NVC was waiting for police certification from my wife.

Anyways, I'm still waiting impatiently. I lost my hope because my process was delayed. Frankly speaking, I'm not very optimistic at this moment. I'm guessing my interview date might be in August or September.

P.S. Checklist says that my wife was missing police certification, but it doesn't say explicitly that she needs to send it to NVC. It only tells her where and how to obtain police certification.

  8. I've been waiting for awhile. My case was completed back in March. I missed my daughter so much! I'm getting impatient and angry. I just want to go back VN while waiting for the interview with my wife, but since HCM interview is so slow, I don't know if I should take this risk.

P.S. I will be so pissed off if we fail our interview.

  9. NVC don't your interview date until the embassy let them know, that when they send the notice to your email. Make sure you have your email on file.

I really don't know but base on the stats im guessing you will receive your letter in late june and interview in Mid July.

I know how it feel to be waiting in the dark but you been through this long already. A littile bit longer wouldn't hurt, it worth afterward. In the mean time prepare all the paperwork for her interview and stop thinking about it then boom you receive the interview letter.

I called NVC every week to check on his case for almost 2 months then the last 3 weeks I stop, then couple days ago i got home and see the email. Stop thinking about it will be better and you will see it coming by fast. Keep counting the day make you miserable and feel like eternity.

Sorry, I haven't get back to you lately. I was so disappointed. I knew my interview letter will not happen anytime soon. I'm not being too optimistic at the moment.

  10. I have not heard of any CR1/IR1 category scheduling at your embassy. I would PM Venezuela members that just went through the embassy and ask them.

Sorry. Hang in there. Sometimes Vietnam can be slow

That's fine. My situation is different than most of you here. My brother in law (4 yrs old) has aggressive behavior. I've seen him made my daughter cried numerous times while I Skyping with my wife. As a father, I can't stand seeing my daughter get bullied over and over.
