I love AB, I have family that have lived there for 15 years! I am from NL. I also do not miss the winters or all the snow!!! We actually got married in California  We are in Ohio for my husbands work... not by choice lol. It's been hard adjusting but it's slowly getting better especially since I just got my AED/AP. 

Did you bother changing your last name in Canada? I am thinking I may wait until my passport expires next year to get a new one with the new last name. 

How have you found adjusting to life in the US? I bet California is gorgeous!! Where in Canada are you from?

Thanks so much for the reply. So it's okay to book flights back to the US with my maiden name as well? As long as I have my marriage cert.? Have you ran into any issues at all?

I recently received notification that my EAD/AP has been approved and is currently being mailed (should get here in the next few days). I want to book a trip home to Canada in May. I have changed my last name to my husband's here in the U.S but my Canadian passport still has my maiden name (as well as all other Canadian things). Should this be an issue? I am wondering what name I should book my flights under? Would I use my maiden name for travel since that is what is on my Canadian passport for plane tickets to and from Canada? I am thinking of getting a new passport with my new last name but won't have it in time for travel.  Should this be a problem leaving the U.S/entering. I will be travelling by plane and don't want to run into any issues. Has anyone traveled on AP lately? 

I received my K-1 Visa at the end of September and we just got married this past week. We are about to send in the package to update my status, obtain work permit, and approval to travel. My car is still back in Canada and I don't own it (financing through the bank of Nova Scotia). I am wondering if anyone has had experience with importing a Canadian car while they still owe money on it? What are the steps for this process?

The reason I am asking if I can file I-765 now (before we get married) and get a work permit ASAP is because I have a possible job offer (to start in two months). However, if it takes 90 days for an EAD to be processed then this will not be possible. Do you have to file EAD with AOS and AP or can you do this beforehand?

I have recently received my Visa and entered the US (last week). Yay! Our wedding date is Dec. 2nd and my K1 Visa is valid up to December 31st. I am a little confused about the process for filing the I-765 form. Am I able to file the I-275 form now? Does this allow me to receive a work permit? As well, how do I go about obtaining a SSN? What happens with my work permit once we get married? Do I refile again??

Any information for this next step would be appreciated!

How do you go about scheduling the medical exam? Do you wait until interview is booked and try to get the exam a few days prior to the interview? I will be interviewing in Montreal and just wondering if anyone has any info...

Fiance and I just sent our I-129F package in the mail last week and it was delivered to destination today (April 20th, 2016). I am Canadian. He is currently in Canada working on Masters but is finishing up in a couple of months. He has a job lined up in the states and will start job August 1st. I am thinking of going to US on a visitor's visa to be with him when he leaves Canada, which will be towards the end of July. I am wondering how long I should/can go for. I think you can go for up to 6 months at a time??? I have no idea if K-1 Visa will be approved by then (February 1st, 2017). Wondering what others have done? Trying to decide if I should go on visitor visa (either fly or drive) for 6 months straight and wondering if anyone has any similar experiences or information to offer.
