  1. Hi Everyone ?. ..so my question is thanks to the world wide web I found excellent tamplet I can use to translate my wife's legalized inextensa Birth certificate and our legalized wedding certificate my question would be if I translate everything myself can I just sign that I translated them or do I need a so called "certified expert"? Down below is an example of one of the tamplet I plan to use.

    https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Supporting_documents.html

"All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which you are applying for a visa, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that the:

    • Translation is accurate, and
    • Translator is competent to translate."
  2. Actually, the fastest way of getting it is calling them.... when I went to the tax office I had to stand in line and the lady just ended up calling the same place I would b calling to get it anyway...

    Phone number is:

    0771567 567

    N read about it here:

    In Swedish of course ;)

Takes 1-2 days to get in mail

I went to my local office and asked for it and they printed it and stamped it right there. They can print the 120 in english without calling anywere

  3. I apologize for the off topic, however, my fiancée is in the process of getting her Personbevis but don't know what to put under the reason of getting one. Although she already has her personal ID and she insisted that's her Personbevis, but I told her it's not. Anyway, she will just go ahead and apply online, but don't know what to put under the reason as there's no "immigration or travelling to US" option.

Thank you so much for your time

She need to get the "120 Personbevis" in english. It´s faster and easier to just go to her local tax agency office and ask for "120" or just say "fullständigt personbevis" Specifically ask for the english version.

  4. Hi everyone :)

My visa status now shows "Issued" on CEAC, and I know that this will change again to "AP" and "Issued" again. I tried though to track my passport to see if I could see any other status but it only says "There is no status update available for the passport number submitted". Does anyone know what this mean and has anyone else had the same? Just curious :)

  5. Thanks Lenhey for your reply.

But my case status still showing "At NVC"

It will say "At NVC" until they have scheduled an interview and send your case to the consulate/embassy. Once they send it it will say "In Transit" and once it has arrived it will say "Ready". It can take some time before the status changes but it can also be that you never see "In Transit" but instead it changes once the embassy has it so it can go from "At NVC" to "Ready" aswell. Just stay calm :) Your case is complete and now you just have to wait for the final step :D

  6. My CC was yesterday. Do you guys think I should call NVC to check if I already have an interview or is it too early? I heard they assign interviews at the end of each month.

You are correct :) They usually schedule Interviews the last week of a month and in to the first week of next. If there are slots open after those two weeks they continue until it´s full. So I think you can wait until next week before you call.

Have they started scheduling again this month? I see a few people still getting interview dates, but it seems kind of isolated. They should start again next sometime next week, right?

Yes they will start up again next week :)

  7. Hello VJ members,

I was wondering, after you get CC, they send you an email confirming it right? and then, they schedule an interview for you.

My question is: is the interview appointment letter an email as well or is it a hard copy that you get in the mail?

If it's an email, then I'm supposed to get 2 emails from NVC right? One confirming the CC (Which I got yesterday) and the other the interview.

Oh, and how long before the status changes from "At NVC" to "Ready"?

    Thanks for clarifying this

Yes you will recieve 2 e-mails. One about CC and one later when they have set a interview date for you. You will get both of these as an e-mail. The status will change to "Ready" once the embassy has recieved the documents from NVC and that will be about a week after you´ve recieved word about a set interview from NVC.

  8. I am sorry that you had to go through that. Wish they could have told you earlier about the old certified divorce decree. But hey you are approved and you will be with your husband in no time. Congratulations! :)

Yea I wish they would have written that in the e-mail that they sent to me before the interview with the rest that they needed me to take with me. But oh well, at least I know it´s approved. Just one more week of waiting and then I´ll be over.

Congrats for getting through the interview process! Awww you cried, that made me sad ? I know how stressful it can be especially since they requested additional documents but don't you worry, once they have that you will be able to finally be with your husband and it will be worth it and the greatest feeling ever to finally be in his arms for good! Hang in there, you're almost there!

Thank you :). When I started crying the interviewer started trying to comfort me :) "It´s still approved"... Instead of flying over this weekend I will go next weekend instead. We´ve been at this for over a year now so what´s another week ;)

  9. Yesterday, the 19th, I had my interview at the embassy in Stockholm, Sweden. I arrived at approximately 7.45. I saw this looooong line that went into a glas "box" but i knew that was for non immigrants. Right infront of the security booth i found the yellow pole and sign for immigrants. I was standing there for about 2 minutes and then rhe security guards called me up (got to go before everyone in the other line) He looked at my passport and under my shoes. They opened the door so i could go through the "airport" security check. They tiom my phone, put it in a box and gave me a recipe so i could collect it on my way out. Followed the yellow line up to the building and went inside. There i met another guard and he asked my errand and i said immigrant visa. He then told me to go to booth 7. There i got to talk to a friendly swedish woman and she took the documents that she asked for. She told me to have a seat and wait for my interview. 5 minutes later a nice American guy called me up and i now had my interview. He asked me to tell our story so i started talking and he just clarified a few things by asking when, where we met, how many times we've met and when the last time was. He said he was aware that we had an expedite request and said that our case is approved BUT they can't send me my visa until they recieve my husbands old certified divorce decree. Of course i started crying and he tried to comfort me by saying that "don't worry it is approved and your husband can send it directly to us and once we have it, you will have your visa"... I realized that instead of flying over this coming weekend it will instead be next week. So i think we can manage that ?. Got approved but also got a 221(g). Overall it was a pleasant interview and it only took about 20 minutes for everything. My appointment was at 8.30 but i was finished and outside by approximately 8.10.

  10. I have been reading on this forum and it has helped a lot. I recently got my interview letter, and in the list of documents on the last page, it lists code N against fee payment. I think its supposed to be a $ which means payment received. I am not sure why it lists N there instead of $. I am wondering those who recently got their interview letter also have N or actually have a $ in front of fee payment.

I have $ for paid. I have no idea what N means ?
