  1. Hi EVERYONE!

IM FILLING THE FORM I765 AND IM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE STEP 16. I DONT UNDERSTAND IF I NEED TO USE OPTION A6 OR C9?

I GOT HERE WITH A K1 VISA, THEREFORE I HAD TO SUBMIT THE FORM F129.

IM GOING TO SEND THE FORM I765 WITH THE I485 CHANGE OF STATUS TOGETHER.

i would really appreciate if someone can help me and explain me why it would be either or of the options.

    thank you!

  2. Hi everyone! I arrived with a K1 visa, I already got married and now im filling the forms for getting the green card.

I didn´t change my last name (adding my husband´s last name) yet (and I only have 2 weeks left before my visa expires).

I talked with some people and they told me to fill the forms with the name that I would like to have after changing my name because if I want to do it after the green card is done I will have to pay another $500 for making the last name change in it. And for what I read I cannot change it yet with the SS because my visa expires in 2 weeks.

What Im worried about is that when we filled the form F129 we did it with my name and now if I fill the i485 with the name i want t have they wont be able to find it. Please help! Has anyone had the same problem?

  3. Hi everyone!

I'm applying for the K1 visa and now I´m filling the DS 160 and I have some questions that I would really appreciate if someone that already filled it in could help me

    When they ask me:

    - "Has anyone ever filed an inmigrant petition on your behalf with the USCIS"? My fiance had to fil in the F129 before we send all the papers to the USCIS. Does that count as an INMIGRANT PETITION THAT SOMEONE DID ON MY BEHALF?

    - "Resided in any country/region for 6 months or longer since you attained 16 years of age"? I lived in the US for 2 years with a J1 visa. That means that I wasnt a RESIDENT but idk if they consider that a resident or not :/

Thank you very much for your time :)

    Regards,

    Lucía

  4. Thank you very much for your answers!! I would like to know if you have any official goverment website that says that because as far as I checked in the website they send you to the FBI website :/ Im 100% they know everything about me so far but i dont wanna risk the interview and not have the police certificate from the US.

  5. Hi everyone!

I would really appreciate if someone that have already been through the process can help me with this.

Im from Argentina, my finace is from the US. We applied for a K1 visa. It had been already aproved by USCIS and NVC so now papers are on their way to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

One of the things they require in the interview is POLICE REPORTS from your country and any country you have lived more than 6 months.

I lived in the US for 2 years with a J1 visa (since I didnt have a temporary residence idk if that count as "living" in the US or not), if it counts as "living", for what I checked online the only way to get a police report is through the FBI ????????? and it last from 4 to 6 weeks ???? Does anyone know if I can get that report at the police station or somewhere else that It doesnt last that long?

    Thak you very much,

    Lucia

  6. Hi everyone! Thanks again for the answers, they helped me a LOT!

We sent the forms to start the K1 process last week. Do you know how long it takes the g1145 e-notice of application acceptance?

For what I saw, other couples got the NOA1 after 2, 3, 6, 7 and 10 days so I think that we should have gotten that by now. I dont know how it works :/ Does someone know how it does?

Thank you once again for your time :)

  7. I had the same question and concern that you do. My boyfriend that is american already called USCIS, Customs and even the Consulate to make sure 100% that i can go to visit him. They all said the same. I CAN go while the k1 is in process (of course Im going with my tourist visa), its up to me to show the customs officer that Im gonna come back to my country so if you have enough proof to come back it will be fine!

    Hope this helps! good luck!

  8. Hi everyone!

I´m filling my G-325A form for applying for a K1 visa and I have some questions if you can help me I would really appreciate that :)

The part where it says: "Last occupation abroad if not shown above" ... what does it mean?

Where it says "This form is submited in connection with an application for:" should I put other and specify k1 visa?

On the bottom of the form it says "applicant: print your name and Alien ..." is it me or my fiance (American) the one that has to put his name on since HE is the one that is applying for the visa for me?

In the writting statement that I need to write the exact dates that we have seen each other in person within the last two years. Do you have any examples of it? I wrote one explaining how we met, all the places we had been together. Im gonna attach flight tickets, photos (they dont have a date on them, but I can attach screenshots of facebook uploads for example), tickets, passport with the stamps on them.

But my question is if its ok to explain everything or if it has to be more simple? and if its ok to attach photos even if they dont have the date on them.

Thank you for your time :)

  9. Thank you everyone for the answers. We finally decided that we are gonna start the k1 visa process before I go to visit him with my tourist visa. My boyfriend called USCIS, Customs and the Consulate and they told him that if I have proof enough that I intend to come back to Argentina everything is fine :) So thats what we are gonna do! Thanks for the advices to everyone!

  10. Hi! I´m from Argentina, I have an american boyfriend and we are planing in getting married. Im going to visit him with my tourist visa from may to august this year. We want to start the K1 visa process but we would like to know this before doing it:

    1) If he starts the process of the K1 visa before I go to visit him, is that gonna obstaculize my entrance to visit him?

    2) Let´s say thr answer of 1st question is NO. Can we continue with the process (interview, criminal records, forms, among other things) while I´m there (going to the Argentinian embassy or consulate) for now wasting time or do I have to do that in Argentina?

    3) Let´s say the answer of 1st question is YES. Can we start the process while I´m in US?

Of course I understand that once I get my K1 visa Im gonna have to leave the country and come back with the K1 visa.

Thank you so much for your time
