Congrats Hermione!!! Did USPS send you a mail tracker? Mine says mailed but i didnt get a USPS tracker. May I ask if u got the new green card design the one with american flag?

    Thank you!! :)

I do not think I got anything saying about tracking number. We have been on vacation for 3 weeks and meantime they sent me a letter with I-797 (Notice of action) notifying that in the next 60 days I will get my new green card. In another envelope was the green card. So I dont know which letter came first since we were overseas.

I had to look on the card again and yes it's with the american flag and statue of liberty.

Also I have to admit, I didnt follow my case status or anything after I got my biometrics done last year in May. I knew its gonna take a year at least and just waited for the card to come.

  2. I went to Social Security Office and the lady told me, I have to wait 4 weeks, before I come back to apply for it. The problem is, we need SSN for everything for the bank, insurance, change my Drivers license. I arrived on 26th of July (3days ago).

It means for 4 weeks I cannot do anything, just sit at home and wait? It doesn't make sense. I am living in Alexandria, VA.

  3. Hmmm...we submitted electronically and were initially told 7-14 days. Also the email was sent out yday even though the scan date is from last month. Why didn't they send it when they received our documents?

    EP may go faster.

My husband got 2 days ago an email from the NVC saying they got our checklist and need 30 days to review it. The scan date was 4th of April ;)

Same day I got my interview date in Frankfurt 21. of June.

  4. Last week on wednesday (ca. 4th of may) my husband called them and they have told him that its completed, but he has to send me the AOS in original and his 2016 tax return or the embassy in Frankfurt.

I just do not understand why it has to be submitted 3 times. First he submitted that with his petition I-130, then the Paket IV and now I have to take it with me to the embassy.

Dont they trust each other - the NVS and the US embassy?

I have logged in ceac.gov and it still shows that its beeing processed at NVC. Any experiences how log it takes from CC to the Interview letter?

  5. I didnt do the EP, well I did but they did not accept it saying: once you choose a processing via Mail you cannot change it to EP. But I did not choose via Mail, since they wanted before the IV Paket all documents via Mail.

I did the Medical in Freiburg/Germany and that time I even didnt have a case number. They didnt tell me that it was not possible.

Well if I have to repeat it I have to pay 142€ again, because it s not covered by my insurance.

I have checked my status at ceac and it was still "processing at NVC".

Unfortunately, yes, the clock does reset every time you send them something. the average processing time these days have been closer to the 30 day range. I don't know if Frankfurt does Electronic processing or if that's how you submitted your packets. If it's EP then you might hear sooner. If you don't hear anything from them on day 30, call them that evening and ask again for an update. It sucks...trust me I know, but just remember why you're going through this and what's waiting for you when it's over.

I am curious how you got your Medical exam done already. Didn't they ask for an appointment (interview) letter? Most people will get their medical done when an interview date and time have been scheduled so their exam results don't expire.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think if medical exam results expire prior to the interview and/or POE in the US, the exam has to be repeated. the good thing is if you do have to repeat it, you won't have to do any of the shots again since you already got them done the first time so it would be current.

I don't mean to freak you out or anything; however, if you don't already know you should be aware of the following for after you do receive your visa.....this is directly from the DOS website:

    https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/interview/after.html

When You Should Travel - You must arrive and apply for admission in the United States no later than the visa expiration date printed on your visa. An immigrant visa is usually valid for up to six months from the date of issuance unless your medical examination expires sooner, which may make your visa valid for less than six months.

NVC will begin scheduling interviews again next week.....for the month of June. If you do get CC as early as next week or even after that, you could attempt to request for an earlier interview date but I don't think it will happen before May 17th. :( I don't know how strict the Frankfurt Consulate is for requests for earlier interviews.

This probably isn't what you wanted to hear but better to know now and come up with a game plan to prepare for it. I do hope things work out in your favor. Good luck in your journey.

  6. Hi everyone,

NVC got our IV Paket on 29th of February 2016. (Scan date)

We called to NVC several times and on the 32nd day NVC sent my husband a checklist that he forgot to sign the I-864 form. He is sure that he signed it.

So he had to send the form again, which they got on 4th of April. I called last Friday and the lady on the phone says, it can take another 30-45 days. Does the clock start from the beginning each time they request something?

I have researched in internet a bit and saw quite a few people complaining that NVC looses the documents or they misteriously do not get the last page where the signature is.

We are waiting since then our Case to be completed and the Interview date scheduled in Frankfurt.

The problem is that I did my medical in December, because I wanted things to go smooth with little waiting time. In May 17th the medical will expire. But I hope the case will be transfered to Frankfurt by then.

The petition was filed end of August, 16 and still waiting for my interview.

    :clock: :clock:
