Updating timeline.

I had the honor to participate in a special naturalization ceremony today at the Department of Labor in Washington, DC. It was the first of its kind with lots of media present.

45 new citizens from 38 countries.

It was truly a wonderful and humbling experience.

Today, after a long journey, I can finally officially say:

I am scheduled for oath ceremony at the Department of Labor in DC in about two weeks. I wonder if it is a special ceremony as I received paperwork that is referring to the responses possibly being used by the Secretary of Labor.

I cannot find anything specific online. Only that it is national immigration week that time. Does anyone here have more insight?

Updating for Oath ceremony date

As stated before, I had my interview last week Monday, August 15th. I got a notification that I'm in line for the oath ceremony to be scheduled on the 17th. Never received any other online update.

Last night, I had the oath letter in my mailbox. It was issued on the 19th.

I'll have my ceremony at the DoL in DC on September 13th. I'm excited! The final step!

Had my interview today and got recommended for approval. The officer was nice and the questions easy. Hoping to get an oath ceremony assigned soon.

I'd appreciate if someone could update my timeline. It's difficult to do via mobile. Thanks!

Interview letter arrived today. Took over a week after text notification to arrive even though I'm in the same county.

Updating chart now.

Was hoping it would actually not be THAT week as I have semester break and was planning a short and quick get-away. But that'll have to wait not 'til next year. This is way more important to me.

Guys, I can't tell you not to worry, but I can tell you to please look at the timelines for previous months. There is nothing at all unusual about waiting 2 or 3 months after biometrics without hearing anything. There are a handful of such cases every single month. I hope this helps calm your nerves a little. Needless to say, if contacting USCIS makes you feel better, by all means do so, but at this stage there's nothing to worry about.

Personally, I'm not worried. Just anxious as I am generally an impatient person lol. Knowing that my field office is lagging behind just adds to the impatience for finally seeing a change in status. I know, I won't be done until another three or four months after being placed in line.

Waiting has its advantages too. Maybe I'll be lucky enough for family to join the ceremony as they are scheduled to visit from September to November.

Also, I think I got spoiled by my greencard processing times. I was all done within three months.

I'm getting a bit anxious... It's been a month after my biometrics and still haven't heard anything from them. Anyone feeling the same? I filed mine at Lewisville, Texas and my USCIS office is in Jacksonville, FL.

Applied under 5years+ rule. Actually got my RoC close to ten years ago. Had my biometrics on 5/9. Washington office. No changes in status as of yet.

I sure wonder what's taking so long. I'm working in an environment were I am already vetted by FBI background check. Been married for the entire time to the same guy, same job, same adress, not even a speeding ticket. Getting anxious too.

Could someone please update the timeline for me?

Had my biometrics appointment today 5/9. Was there 15 minutes prior to appointment. Waited a total of about 30 minutes and then had a blast with the officers. Had a hard time keeping my lips together for picture taking as we were laughing so much. Despite all the fun, I could not extract any additional info out of them lol.

Now let's hope for a speedy interview date and hopefully as funny as todays appointment.

Yeah, but not charging me yet is making me worried, everyone got their checks cashed fast.

Now I doubt if I made any mistakes. Guess I will have to wait and see.

I did not pay by check but by credit card via G-1450, but it took 14 days from receipt to charge. Priority date 4/4, charge finalized on 4/18.

All I had seen from others was payments processed within a week, so I thought it was a long time too. I started worrying about not having signed the G-1450 actually, but couldn't verify as I had only saved an electronic file and not made a paper copy of the signed one I sent out. Now, I'll never repeat that one again... copies, copies, copies are in my future from here on out ;-).

But maybe it puts your mind at ease a bit, that you are not the only one where payment seems to take forever.

Received my biometrics appointment letter on satuday 4/30. Issued 4/23 (my mail is slow). Appointment date 5/9.

No email notification or status update on USCIS either.

Just glad it's finally moving.

Hopefully the FBI check is quick as my field office's timelines for processing have increased dramatically over the last two years. As of April 1st, when they conducted an information event, the director informed they are currently working on November cases. So, it'll probably already be a close to 4 month wait from the interview to oath.

JimmyHou I received one of the two forms back that I submitted. With some but not all of the supporting documents.

Also, hubby just informed me that the I-797 with the first app# arrived on Friday. I was out of town so did not get to the mailbox myself and he forgot to tell me.

Not sure what to do with the form yet that I received back. Wait and see I guess. With 12 months processing time anyway, what's another couple of weeks?

First of all, check with your bank to confirm that the full amount of $680 has been charged and has not been refunded.

Second, call USCIS or make an Infopass appointment to explain the situation.

Third, while you're waiting for your appointment or before you resend, go to your bank and get a statement or letter showing that USCIS charged your account. See if you can get a copy of the cashed check from the bank.

If the amount has really been cashed by USCIS and the check was made out to the correct recipient and in the right amount, then this is a clerical mistake.

Most likely, USCIS will tell you to do one of the following:

- If you can show that it was their fault, they'll ask you to resend your application with a fee waiver request (official form), an explanation letter, and proof that you've already paid.

- If you can't show that it was their fault, they'll ask you to resubmit the application with a new fee.

I talked to a Tier 2 officer. Apparently, I accidentally got two application# assigned to my case.

As the first one was processing the payment, the second one got issued and rejected as there was no G-1450 attached to it. Go figure, it got used for the first application in the system. I did get an email with the correct (first) application# and status showing that my I-797 will be send out. No receipt of that one in paper form as of yet though.

I was told to ignore the rejection letter (with the second application#) as it was an error on their side. Hopefully, this information is correct. I would not want to waist time waiting around just to have to send the application off at a later point because in the end, I am still holding half of my application (the duplicate) in my hand right now. They still have the other half, but not sure, if that Situation won't cause further delays down the road, if the process even continues to start with.

As I was one of the first ones to file this month and already am being fairly late on being charged, receiving correct I-797s and instead getting incorrect I-797s, I am not sure, this will be such a smooth ride for me afterall. The officer told me the back log is enormous right now and to expect an approximate timeline of 12 months from now to taking the oath. *sigh*

Really confused and not good news, I guess.

Sent my application and supporting documents to Lewisville, TX on the first of April, got delivered on the 4th. Then it took unsually long to charge my account via the G-1450, however it did on the 14th.

Now, I received my I-797 and my case got rejected due 'the payment amount is incorrect, or has not been provided'?!?

Got the email and USCIS status tracker Shows that application has been rejected and to follow instructions on the I-797.

I got charged. Got the account statement to prove it, received the confirmation email and now I receive half of my original application back?

Where would I call best to see what is going on?

My noticed arrived today. Dated 4/14.

Was extremely excited to find it in the mailbox. Made my day!

Update on my details as well. for some reason they charged my card, however it took 5 days to process the payment because my bank was expecting a resonse from the merchant. Whatever that means. I definitely had enough funds, so that could not have been the problem.

So, in the end the charge got finalized on 4/15.

Truly wonder, it seems that it was a lot quicker for all of you to have your CC payment processed. Took two full work weeks for mine now. Delivered Monday last week, finalized yesterday night. I hope that is not a sign for the wait to come.

I should have a cut and dry case.... married a USC, still married to the same man, two kids, same home since 8 years, same employer since 8 years, no convictions. Worst thing I ever done with law enforcement was rushing them nicely to process work related paperwork.

Hi there! I'm with April filers

Definitely not an authority here, but in the removal for conditions, it seems like it was also an OR for supporting docs. I sent a lot of docs but not the IRS return transcripts - simply because I did not know how to get them at the time. I did send Tax info, the two pages or so that we have on record for each year, and I got an RFE.

After seeking help with VisaJourneyers on how to get transcripts (my hubby, the USC also did not know about the return transcripts, he thought the tax info we sent were enough), I got them, sent my RFE packet and it went through fast. Had my approval in a few days of them receiving my packet. My takeaway there was the return transcripts are super important, more so than the other docs. So this time, for N-400, I got the transcripts first and will just be brining the other OR options during the interview. Absolutely not sure if that will work. Just sharing. But since it is an OR list, let's hope they don't send you an RFE and just let things go smoothly =D

Hope it goes through for you. All 3 bullets really emphasize on tax returns. You should have 3 of them (2012-2013-2014 tax years) since you have been married to USC spouse those 3 years

For my adjustment of status I had just moved to USA so I got an RFE for tax return. Hope you don't get a RFE

I just went to the IRS website and go my 3 transcripts in like 5 min. Filed jointly last 4 years..

Really unsure now. I thought they were emphasising alot on it too, but still did not send them. We have all returns since '06 still in our files.

Should I wait for a RFE now or can I send additional information in earlier? And if so, how? I'd figure, I need my case# first and foremost. So, probably awaiting the NoA and then call them. As they charged my CC, I am fairly certain that a NoA should arrive soon.

Thanks for your quick response JGD108. I re-read those requirements like dozens of times. Even under 'a' it lists and then says 'or'. So, I'm no lawyer, but I have to work with legal language on a daily basis and it did not look like a requirement to me, but more as a listing of possibilities.

I sent bank accounts, home owners insurance and alike... just no tax returns or transcripts. I didn't do so because of what I stated above and also because I just wanted to get it out and as I had filed an extension for this year for the first time ever. I did not want to delay sending the app off because I am just missing the most current one.
