Also, how long did it take for tracking info to appear?
We received the email about 3 hours ago, but just says "We were not able to find any results." Does it take awhile to show up?
Did yours show up yet? I live in montreal so before my tracking info was even available my visa already arrived haha
-
Updated to Issued today!!
What is the next step? They email us with a tracking number?
I just got my tracking number i assume u did as well. YAY visa journey is finally ending
-
OH the whole process is like a huge waiting game, it sucks. They probably don't like to answer much at all since everyone is bombarding them about how long it'll take.
-
Is this after your interview?
-
how do we create a poll, anyone care to create one for AP status? or is there one already im just not able to find
There's one that says "Waiting for our passports in Montreal" i'm not sure if that's what you're looking for but i was reading the more recent posts in there as well
-
OH oops I read someone else's timeline as yours, i think yours will be done soon!!
-
hahaha honestly I'm very happy for Misa
. I'm b4 U since I had interview first , and they got our documents the same day but Your status updated twice where as mine only once:(
..hopefully we both get some good news faster.
I had my interview on february 24th or something actually
but yesterday someone who had their documents sent in a week after me also got the "ready" status so I hope everything goes well for you too!!
-
awesome!! so happy for you!! how many weeks was that?
it was around 5 weeks since they received my additional documents
-
Hi! Today my status was updated to "Nonimmigrant Ready"
"Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days."
I am expecting to get my passport soon, hopefully you guys as well
goodluckkk everyone -
Nonimmigrant Ready today too!
-
Our status was updated to "Nonimmigrant Ready" this evening, so we should get issued within the next week!
Hopefully you guys will get some updates soon too!
Yay! Congrats i'm happy for you! I hope this means mine will be the same soon too, you gave me a tiny bit of hope haha

well from what i have read, it can take up to 60 days after the day that they receive your last document to review your file. and no action or inquiry can be made prior to those 60 days. so i have no idea why they keep telling all of us is as fast as they say. fingers crossed its only a few weeks for everyone though
that is so long
I had my hopes up since my "administrative processing" updated extremely soon after they received my documents so i was thinking that they at least started to review my file. I do have doubts now though since the 5th week mark for waiting is tomorrow ! I wish they were able to tell us that it'd take a long time so that the situation isn't so stressful
-
did they tell you you are approved ?
Nopeee, all he said was that after they receive my documents it'll take less than 2 weeks for me to be able to pick up the visa so i'm uncertain
Please keep us posted with the progress and will do the same.
Yup, good luck to you guys!

My interview was feb 24~ but I had some missing documents, so he kept my passport and told me after receiving the documents my stuff would be ready in less than 2 weeks.
My documents were received at the consulate on Friday, March 4th.. My status updated to administrative processing on March 7th & once again on March 10th but nothing has been updated since then and i'm still waiting for my visa (the upcoming week will be my 5th week of waiting) -
Likely would have been less than 2 weeks without additional docs.
oh hmm he told me less than 2 weeks after receiving the additional documents
Exactly! I wish they would have given us a realistic estimate of how long it would take. Our interviewer said 2 days after they received the document...
I may feel a little better right now if he had said "it will be about x months".
2 days?! That is so anticlimactic & such a let down
I wish they could provide more information about the status of the application instead of just "administrative processing"
-
It's so disappointing because the interviewer made it seem like they are processing things quickly, the whole "less than 2 weeks" really threw me off
3 months is just way too hardd especially since they keep your passport and you can't really do anything besides wait. Update me if you get any news! -
I had my interview Feb 24th, but I was missing the original wet ink signatures of 2 documents & the interviewer told me after they receive the missing documents my visa should be ready in less than 2 weeks. I think the consulate received my documents on March 7th (I saw the status update that day), it also updated on March 10th (still administrative processing though) and nothing has changed since then, i'm still waiting as well. Your timeline seems to be close to mine, prior to this post I thought maybe something was wrong with my case but it seems like it may be taking long for other people as well
Everything else during the visa process happened really quickly and i had no problems up until this point so it's become a little stressful.
Waiting for our passports from Montreal

I was reading my packet and it states that you can't return to canada after arrival in the US, and it says it can take a year or more to get the permanent residency. Does this mean i can't do school in the states until i get the adjustment of status as well?
