Hey all,
I did a search and came up empty. So this is our story. My wife is applying for citizenship (obviously, I'm posting here lol). She had her biometrics appointment on the 18th of April, went, and everything went fine. On the 20th of April her status changed online to In Line. Then today in the mail she got another biometrics notification with a date of April 26th and showing that the notice was from the 20th? The difference is that this notification came from the local field office instead of the NBC. Now we applied for our case to be expedited due to my work taking us abroad. I called USCIS and they didn't really have an explanation and said to ignore it. My worry is that since we applied for an expedite they meant to send an interview date notice but sent it on the wrong form? My questions is has anyone gotten two biometric notices when they didn't miss or reschedule the first one?
What do you think?
Thanks!

My wife and I got an early Christmas present! Her green card arrived in the mail today just a month after POE. Now we can relax for a bit!

And follow up question would be how long can we expect it to take? I've tried googling and I can't find anything... thanks!

Hello everyone!
My wife just recently made it to the states on a CR1 visa (yay, finally! lol). We qualify under Section 319b for expedited naturalization and my question is do we have to wait for her to have her physical green card or can we use the visa in the passport since it acts as a temporary green card once stamped?
Thanks!

That's great news! Let us know your POE and did your wife go through with you to the US citizens line?
POE was Washington Dulles... and yes she went with me to the US citizens line.

We finally made it to the US! POE was insanely easy - my wife just came up with me and the officer checked the docs and stamped her passport. No questions, no secondary review, etc. I will submit an offical review once I sleep. We can finally breath a short sigh of relief!

My wife got her visa packet back after it was repackaged (it came ripped....) and we bought tickets today! Just a little bit left...
-
It's especially scary because we can't do anything to control it! What I don't understand is if it's so important for us not to open it or for it to rip, why send it in such a fragile paper envelop? I mean it's so full of documents it's bound to rip. At least put in one of those thicker cardboard envelops.....

Thanks Kortex!
Sorry I can't help about the re-delivery time. Hopefully she will have it back soon and she can be on her way to join you.
Found out today that they shipped it back today. Super quick turn around - they received it yesterday and shipped it back today. Just hoping that it comes back without any rips this time. There's always something to worry about, isn't there....

@JFH - My wife did her medical when she had a cold and it was fine. The only thing I think it could affect would be the X-ray if it were to develop into bronchitis or if they couldn't do any vaccines because of your immune system (they still did the vaccines for my wife). I'm sure you'll be fine! Stress will only make it harder to get better
In other news, my wife's visa packet was received with a rip so she mailed it back to the embassy last week and they received it today (thanks three day weekend..). Anyone know how long it takes on average for it to be repackaged?

Go my wife's passport back today and her visa packet has a tear. Just when we thought we were done! ?

The wait from approved to issued feels like the longest one so far and it's only one day so far! I need to find more things to distract me....
Wishing lots of luck to everyone with their interviews coming up and may everyone else get their interview dates quickly!

I hardly ever post here but I do read and research quite often. I just wanted to say thank you - My wife was approved today and this forum was a big help and a big part of it.

This is really good information. I kind of freaked out when our case switched to AP before the interview and google didn't tell me anything.
-
So as the title says the nvc visa status check is showing administrative processing before we've even done the interview. Does this happen? I did a google search and didn't see anything at all. If it's relevant, our case was expedited from the NVC before we mailed in supporting documents.
Thanks!

Update on my side:
My senator got back to me and confirmed that I shouldn't send anything to the NVC. I got a email from the embassy yesterday saying we can schedule an interview now.
-
Yeah the timeline is a typo on my side. I need to fix it
-
It says "in transit
Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."
So I guess it's too late to send documents to nvc? Also they didn't provide us with an interview date? Is that also down to the embassy now?

Hi,
So because of a recent situation, I applied for an expedite via my senator. The senator contacted the embassy and the embassy agreed to the expidite. I was planning on sending documents to the nvc this week before I heard the expidite was approved (my affidavit of support and my wives civil documents). I looked today at the state department website and the current processing location changed from NVC to the embassy location. My question is, since the expedite do I still send those documents to the nvc or do we just take them to the interview? All the fees have been paid and my wife filled out the ds-260.
I'm just confused - if the current processing location is the embassy location instead of the NVC what do we do with the affidavit of support and civic documents. Does it turn into basically a DCF situation? I wrote my senator asking but I figured I'd ask here too.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info!

Firstly I did search so if I missed the answer sorry in advance!
My question is, does the joint sponsors forms go in with my sponsor forms I send to the nvc or do we just take the originals to the interview?
Confused where the joint sponsor comes into play and how.
Thanks!

I can update to say that my case online was finally changed to "sent to state department". Looking through the app it seems like they updated a bunch of cases.
(Also this is off topic, and if there is a better place to ask please point me there, but do you know if interviews tend be scheduled at the begining or ending of months or is it simply throughout? I swear I read some where that they tend to schedule near the end of the month but I want to confirm. Thanks!)

So I have a question. We submitted my wife's documents in May and in the mail today I got three notices of actions in the mail - all identical saying that we were approved. But online it still just says case received and we haven't gotten an email either. Any ideas? Has anyone heard of this happening? All the information in the notices of actions is correct
Edit: actually two are identical and the third is idencitcal in everything except for the date of the notice of action which is a one way difference.

Quick question,
I've been reading about DCF and we qualify so we think we will go this route. My question is, if I have my uncle fill out an affidavit of support, who does he mail it to? To me, to the consulate, to an office in America? Also in terms of processing times do I need to have all of the documents ready to go (including the AoS, criminal report, etc) from the beginning?
Thanks!
Received second biometrics notification?

UPDATE: We went to the center just in case and they said that it was a duplicate and that they didn't need her prints. Then we got a phone call today that my wife's interview is scheduled for the 26th. Two days from now!
