what is this "third n/a" that everyone is reffering to? in the immigrant visa portal place?
Go to https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/
Click on DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application
Sign in. Look for Affidavit of Support Fee. If your case is at NVC, this will say "PAID". If your case has been cleared by NVC, this will say "N/A".
It worked for me. I logged in about lunchtime yesterday, and it still said PAID. I logged in at 8pm and it said N/A. I called the same night and they told me, "Good news, your case was cleared today."

Hey, friends. I've been lurking in these threads for a couple of weeks. I figured I would let y'all know that our case (for my wife and daughter) was cleared today!
Our scan date was October 5. I've been calling them every Monday for the last 3 weeks. They told me this week that it should be cleared by Friday. I just logged in and got the "Third N/A", so I called and they said it was cleared.
Hang in there!

What they told me is, "We currently have a high volume of cases, and they are taking at least 6 weeks to clear."
I don't know why the website says 2 to 4 weeks. 6 weeks is the number that matters. Basically, if it's been less than 6 weeks since your AOS documents were received, they aren't going to give you any information. They'll say "Your scan date is XX-XX-XX, call back when it's been 6 weeks."
Our case took 8 weeks. I suggest calling a week after you mail off the documents, to verify your scan date. Then wait until it's been 5 weeks, and call once a week after that. If it's been more than 6 weeks from the scan date, you can request a supervisor look at your case.
Good luck!
