  1. We had the interview earlier today at Santa Ana office. Approved on spot. It was on time. ( actually my husband said it was 10 minutes before our appointment ?) The officer just asked general questions (checking information on the forms mostly) and checked if we have the original documents of the birth certificate for both of us and our marriage certificate. He asked how we met, timeline and what I was doing before, any new documents we want to submit. It was a friendly interview for about 30 minutes. Last thing, he asked if we both were wearing the wedding ring/band.

I asked for the stamp on passport. The officer that interviewed us gave a document requested for the stamp on my passport but the staff at the documents counter on the first floor told us to wait for the actual card by mail. And if we don't get in within a month then just go back there again ?

So, thank you so much for all VJ members and good luck for everyone ?

  2. Not at all.

After the oath, he asked for my passport and he asked my husband:

    - What is your full name?

    - Date of birth?

    - Where do you work? And what do you do?

    - What is your address?

    - What is her full name?

    - What is her date of birth?

    - How, when and where did you propose her?

    - When and where did you get married?

    Then for me:

    - What is your full name?

    - Date of birth?

    - What is your address again?

    - What is his full name?

    - What is his date of birth?

    - Do you have any additional document?

So I showed 2 photo albums, and he just asked why we chose get married in Las Vegas.

Then he said that by the way we talk and by the pictures he was going to go ahead and approve my Green Card because for sure we have a real relationship.

Then he explained that it expires in 2 years and we should fill the form I-751 in 2 years.

    That is all :)

✌️Thanks a lot for sharing. And good luck, wish you guys the best ☺️

  3. Thank you! I could feel the good vibes from VJ. We got there at 9am, our appointment was scheduled for 930, we got called back together at 10am and were done by 1015. They asked me for my bio info then asked my wife for hers. Looked at our passports. They also asked us both to give the full name and birthday of the other. Asked questions of my wife about past J1 visa and if she completed the 2 year homestay requirement and then the standard are you a criminal questions. They asked if we had anything new to add and we gave them a copy of our house contract that we bought together, copies of our health and life insurance, light bill. Looked at my old passport with my first trips to Guatemala. We had a picture album from the last 9 years that we flipped through with her and told her who everyone was and the trips we had taken together and the trips to Guatemala and her to the US, pics of me with her family, her with my family, when our mothers met each other, my dog in Guatemala with her niece, pictures of us here in Columbus with friends. After we finished the album (about 60 pics of 1000s that we have taken) she looked through a photo book she gave me when we got married and also glanced at our wedding photo book. Gave everything back to us and then said she had everything she needed to approve our application and that we should expect the green card in 2-3 weeks! No stamp but we are extremely excited and relieved. Good luck to all still waiting!

    ? Congratulations

Interview yesterday took about 10 minutes. Way easier than we expected! :)

    Approved right away!

    HAPPY!!!! :star:

    ?? any tricky question?

  4. Can you please share with me the certified part in detail? like what should I write there to show that I can read and understand English? Do I need to go to the post office to have it certified or something?

  5. Hi

For me Visajourney has helped me a lot, informative and friendly community ? I could save around $2,000 lawyer fee and that is the best. Anyway months ago I knewnothing about this AOS stuffs and I just simply learned and followed people here (looked at their Signature mostly) like, what forms they used, support documents, fees, etc.

You just need to serch the keyword you want to know and read read and read ?

It wasn't so bad if you make a mistake. It's just delay your processing timeline. Like me I missed something and wasted a month before I received my package back from USCIS too. I misunderstood that I needed to file I-130 separately to Phoenix. Don't! If you file I-130 together with I-485, you have to send both of them to Chicago!
