Not yet though, but would it ideal to do so?
Yes! That's the first advice they give you here in Visa Journey.
Call NVC since they might have it already. They won't be sending emails or anything. You definetly NEED TO CALL.

Hi I was wondering if after approval you got the "Sent to the department" status on the website? I received my approval letter saying my case was sent to NVC but status is still in "Approval." Did yours change or not? It's been 17 days since my NOA2.
-
Still the same status on the website
I just called USCIS and spoke to a Tier 2 officer who told me that the website isn't to be relied upon now as it may be out of date after approval, and NVC receives the case within 30 days of NOA2 and I should check with them after 30 days of NOA2 (very standard response). I kept asking if she could tell me if or when the case was actually sent to the NVC and she wouldn't tell me, making me think it hasn't been sent yet but wouldn't bet on it. I'll call NVC either later today or tomorrow, just in case they have it already.
You called USCIS! That's good, at least he/she told you that we shouldn't rely on the website. I called today but they didn't have my case yet. I'll keep calling though..Don't worry I'm sure in less than a month we'll have our case and invoice number hopefully. It's so frustrating.....First waiting for NOA2, then waiting for case to reach NVC, then case complete....Woah!

You can message me if you want. Blessings!

Yes, that's what I'm hoping is happening with my petition too, that the status hasn't updated but it's already on its way to the NVC or already there. I called on Monday and got the usual six-week talk. Will call again early next week. Good luck to you as well!
Thank you!
God bless

Does your status on the USCIS status show approved or sent to the Department of State? Ours got approved on the 3rd and we're also waiting for the status to change to sent to DoS.
I'm waiting for my status to change to "Sent to the department of state" but nothing yet
They do advice here on VJ to start calling two weeks after your NOA2 because sometimes they don't update if it's been sent or not I guess. I'm calling tomorrow again.

My approval at USCIS did take 4 months also, so don't worry and just remember it's better at 4 months and some weeks because 6 months sucks!
I just called NVC no case yet. They did say to allow for 6 weeks since date of my approval notice. But I received notice they sent to NVC late last week, so we hoping. Either way doesn't matter...
Waiting on police reports and need to know if have to get any court records. Hubby wasn't a angel in his early 20s.
And I'm waiting to know what income I'm putting down. Not sure if my raise is going through this month or next. Though my boss did sign letter with old income just in case and original is in England. If a new one is needed the scanned copy will have to do. Lol He can show both along with pay stubs. And he doesn't have signed 864EZ for any scenario. (Signature page has no other info on it if prepared by petitioner.)
Good news is found an apartment with Dal while he was here for vacation. We both liked it. But with the prospect of moving while so close to end of process we got a PO Box for this to ensure nothing gets lost. And going to keep it for next 4 years until citizenship process done then no more immigration process... at least on the USA side.
Same here...I was approved at exactly 4 months at Nebraska. It's been 2 weeks since approval but no change in status or anything. This is just a waiting game! I have called NVC twice but they don't have my case yet.

NVC willl assign you a new case number starting with the 3 initials for embassy like ours is CSB for casablanca
yours will be for Mexico followed by 2016 for the year and then a series of numbers
when they assign this number for you, it is the one you will use
just sent June !st be patient, it is only the 13th, takes a while to get put into the computer and assigned / others will say to call in 2 weeks but it is more like a month as have over 100,000 applicaitons at NVC
thank you and you are right..I have to be patient lol Just that I was following advice from VJ

Hello
I got my i130 approved on June 1st. My priority date was February 2nd, 2016. Now my status online just says that my case has been approved but I received the letter a couple of days later and in the letter it says that my case has been sent to NVC. Which one is correct? I called today and they still don't have my case. The lady told me to give her my case number and I just gave her the receipt number. Oh and in my NOA1 the case number is all together like this: LIN123456789(Just an example) and on the approval notice it's LIN-12-345-6789 <<---Is that how I should give out my case number? Or it really doesn't matter?
Sorry I have so many questions! I'm new at this

Not everyone's petition gets sent to NVC right away. As you can see from my timeline in my signature some have to wait. NVC seems to be getting backlogged again so you'll learn or at least be forced to learn patience during this whole process.
Once your status changes to "Your petition has been sent to the Department of State" then wait about 1-2 weeks and start calling about once a day to see if NVC received your petition. Remember they will tell you it can take p to 60 days to receive it from USCIS. don' t panic. These kinds of paperwork that has sensitive information in it is more than likely being sent via DHL, which means NVC should have it in their building in a few days; however, it depends on how long it takes for them to scan your petition into the system for the phone rep to confirm that they have your petition. Once they have confirmed they have it then wait another 1-2 weeks and start calling to get your case and invoice numbers.
Long winded answer to say, "no don't be worried. be patient."
I wish you a smooth and quick journey
Oh dear...Patience, patience and more patience lol
Thank you!

Hello guys
So my i130 was approved on June 1st. Now I called 3 days ago to see if they had received anything and nope NVC doesn't have my case yet. My status hasn't even changed to "Being sent to the department of state" it just says "approved". Should I be worried? Or just be patient? I've seen people get approved and 8 days later get that note saying that their case is being sent to NVC. Any advice is welcome!
Thank you all.

My i130 petition was approved on June 1st. I called NVC today and they haven't received it. Should I just wait and call next week?
-
Thank you all
I will call them two weeks after I receive that notice!
Hope I can get my invoice number fast
-
Your advisor is probably right in the sense that so many people just start calling NVC rght away or within a week causing unnecessarily the high volume of calls. Calling soon doesn't speed up the process while not calling soon doesn't delay it either.
Thank you! I'll just wait then
-
I've seen the NVC stage post here in the forum and it recommends us to call NVC a week or two after receiving our approval to see if they have our case already or to receive a case number. I called my adviser today and she said that I shouldn't be calling because in the letter it tells us to wait 30 days so I shouldn't expect anything before that. I'm confused!!!!!!!
What if not calling delays everything!?

Bendiciones

My case was just approved 2 seconds ago!!! God has answered my prayers! I will update my timeline later
Congrats!!!!
-
For Mexico everything has been really quick. I got my Case complete 4 days after my scan date.
Just be sure to have all your documents ready and the process will be very quick.
Thank you
So I guess all depends on me!
-
Start calling them about a week after your petition has been sent to NVC. Once they have recieved your case they will tell you on the phone that it will take up to 42 days for your case # to get assigned. But just keep calling about once a week; there's a good chance to get it earlier.
Congratulations ☺
Thank you
So after my case reaches NVC everything goes by faster? I see you got your interview in like two months and a few days from approval!!
Hope I get mine that soon.
-
So since my case was just approved today when should I start callling NVC? Is that after I get the "Your case is being sent to the department of State" Notice?
-
Your uscis case status will change from "case was approved" to "case was sent to the department of state". After that you have to keep calling NVC to find out if your case has arrived.
This is our case
I130 approved: May 6th
Case was sent to NVC: May 11th
Case was received at NVC on May 13th
Then we got a case number and IIN on May 27th
I hope this can help you.
Thank you!!! Very helpful

Hey there! I know it seems really unfair because we all just want to be with our husband/wives
and some countries just get expedited. The process is too long and frustrating. Hope you hear from Nebraska soon <3 I don't know why they slowed down.
