Hello there, I am submitting DS 260 for my das who is a Mexican citizen. One of the questions is if he was ever in the military. Since he grew up in Mexico, at 18 he had to enrolll in 'servicio militar', which as you might now is nothing but a formality, not really training as it is understood in the US. Do you know if he must answer yes to the original question?

Just starting this process for my parents today. So I will be following your steps very closely.

I have a question regarding insurance. My parents are 65 and 71 and although pretty healthy I want to make sure we get the insurance situation ironed out. They have never worked or lived in the US (only visited as tourists) and once they move here they will be retired, only receiving a very small amount as pension from working in Mexico (probably $2,000 together monthly). Would they be able to qualify for medicaid, even if I act as sponsor and make above the salary requirements.

Also, once they receive their visa, they should be able to move to the US immediately, correct? How soon after they arrive should we file for I-845? Can they remain on their new visa status indefinitely? I am not very clear on this change of status.
