Doesn't hurt to ask about where your case is, so sure, send them an email. For our case, they received our packet 3.5 on January 7 and emailed the Interview form on January 24. So give them a little more time.

Hi,
So i got a reply from the embassy saying that they emailed the packet 3.5 on my fiancé's email ID back in December and that I need to submit to to their office the documents mentioned in the package to get assigned an interview date. Since she created this ID specifically for this immigration thing so guess she didn't check it after creating it. From what ive read about the process, I was supposed to have the package mailed to my address or is it also routine for them to email the same???
Anyway, ill keep you guys posted and thanks for all the help so far
I was going to tell you this yesterday, but my laptop shut off for some reason. I filed the case for my fiancee, so I was the petitioner. I had received the email about the 3.5 packet.
In any case, you got it now, and you should fill it out asap and send it to them so they can get started on your case, it'll take them around a month or two to process it and send you an interview date. Spoiler Alert: It'll be coming to your Fiancee's email so tell her to keep a look out.

On the date of his interview we had all of these documents in a folder and more. They actually kept his folder with more than 300 pages of documents.
We did all we can to make it easy for them with contact information as well. Also my work contact
Oh... okay. Ummm, Well, it's been 52 days since his interview, so I guess you have to wait another week before sending them another email inquiring about your case. I hope they have some more information on your case for you. Inshallah you'll be reunited with your loved one soon.

The same week of the interview i contact the congresswoman and she emailed the embassy and stated this is a normal process and to wait at least 60 days.
When we asked why was 221g was given answer was need to do background check
If I were in your position, the first thing I would do would be to make this background check easier for the embassy.
So, I would get all the school records of where my fiance had attended school. I would get all the travel records of where my fiance had EVER visited. I would get all the police records of any city that she had ever lived in. I would get all of her employment records or anything else that I could think of. I would get all of that together, and write a letter to the embassy that I want to assist them in their background check. I understand that they have to do their own research but I have nothing to hide and I want to help make this process easier.
Again, that's what I would do. Not necessarily what anyone else would recommend, but just something that I would feel helpful doing.

Congrats my friend wish you guys the best..
remember me.. interview was a day after yours Feb 17..
I am.still.under Ready for interview last update was March 18..
I.have not.contact the embassy.
What should i do any advice?
Since we are a day apart.
Hi LP,
If I remember correctly, your fiance was placed under Administrative Processing and given a 221g sheet. In my opinion, that was the main difference between our cases. My fiancee was told that she was approved.
In any case, do you know the reason as to why he was placed under administrative processing?
I've often seen quite a few cases get fixed when they fulfill the requirement given to them. For example, someone is placed under AP for not having enough evidence of the relationship. The very next day, they go home and collect all the pictures and phone records and send it to the embassy. When the embassy receives it, they keep working on your case. So, I think your first step would be to find out WHY you were given that white 221g sheet.
After doing that, I would determine my next step. Whether I should contact the congress woman, or if I should email the embassy, or take some other step. I really hope that your case starts to move fast. I know the pain of being without the person you love.

I promised myself that once my fiancee and I had her visa issued, I would create a thread and hope to answer questions for anyone else who was like me who wanted specific answers but couldn't get them.
Before you go any further, the first thing to understand is EVERY CASE IS DIFFERENT
My specific case had the following details.
We filed the case on October 5th at the Texas Service Center. I live in Los Angeles, CA. But I read somewhere online that if I send it to Texas, it would be better. Anyway, I received letters here and there. I received an RFE which was a request for more evidence. I thought that was weird because I had sent like 10 pictures of us being loving and cute together. It turns out that all they wanted was a letter from her saying that she wants to marry me. So we sent that out the very next day. That was processed pretty quickly too. The USCIS worked very efficiently in my experience.
Fast forward to her Interview, this is the part that made both of us worried. We filled out the 3.5 Electronic Packet and sent it to the Islamabad Embassy. They sent us an email with her Interview letter on January 25th and scheduled her interview for February 16th.
Her interview went smoothly, she took a ridiculous amount of pictures and chat logs and call history and pictures of gifts and my airline ticket stubs and credit card statements and anything else that she could find to prove that we were a legitimate engaged couple. At the end of the interview, the CO said, "Everything looks fine, you'll get your passport back in 3 weeks."
Now the waiting started. We waited 7 weeks and sent them 2 emails in those 7 weeks. I made a table of the event to make the tracking easier. If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask me.Date Event Status Days Since Her Interview
December 16 Case Creation Date Ready
February 16 Actual Interview Ready for Interview
February 19 Status Update Date Ready for Interview 3 days
March 9 Status Update Date Ready for Interview 3 weeks & 1 day – 22 days
March 18 Status Update Date Ready for Interview 4 weeks & 2 days – 31 days
March 29 Status Update Date Ready for Interview 6 weeks – 42 days
March 31 Status Update Date Ready for Interview 6 week & 2 days – 44 days
April 1 Status Update Date Ready for Interview 6 week & 3 days – 45 days
April 4 Status Update Date Ready for Interview 6 week & 6 days – 48 days
April 6 Changed to NIV Ready 7 week & 1 day – 50 days
April 7 Administrative Processing ISSUED 7 week & 2 days – 51 days
Final thing, Don't lose hope. That CEAC status doesnt change much.
-
CEAC is extraordinarily unreliable. Our case has been on READY for Interview since late January. My Fiancee had her interview approved on February 16 and the case updated date changes every now and then, but the status is still stuck on READY. It's annoying. Hopefully, we get some good news soon. Best of luck to you, buddy.

Mine is i130,F2A visa ..I also need to fill out ds160 form? ?
oh snaps... I dont know about that. You would be better off asking someone who's in that same process. I thought you were doing the k1 visa.
-
Oh dam that much..still I didn't get any email from my embassy ??
I got an email from USCIS on December 3, 2015 that they approved my case and will forward it to the NVC to send to Islamabad. My electronic packet 3.5 email came on December 30, 2015. And then the interview letter came on January 25, 2016.
DS-160 is for K1 fiancee visa. You need to fill that out. As a side note, the affidavit of support for the k1 visa is I-134 which is like 2 or 3 pages. Not the 12 page one. I think thats for a different visa.
-
I got case case complete..now NVC will send info to the embassy I think or I have to send???
The NVC will send all of the information directly to the embassy. Then the Islamabad embassy will send you an email with instructions to fill out a 3.5 Electronic Packet. That email will have your ISL number. You will then go fill out your DS-160 application and print it out the last page and send all of your supporting documents to the embassy. When you send it, get a tracking number and track it. After that, you'll get your interview.
-
Sido how can I know that my documents embassy is recive or not??
The first thing I did was track my mail. If you sent it through a courier, they must have given you a tracking number or something. Use that. Other than that, you can email them too. I hope you get it soon!

Hey Siddo.
I didn't get much status updates either. Maybe two or three and all close to the issue date. Once it changed to NIV and the next day it changed to ISSUED. Your timeline say you also got ISSUED?
Nah, I wish it said Issued. It hasn't moved from READY since before the interview date. It hasn't changed to NIV or anything. The NIV thing says NO STATUS. The IMMIGRANT side says READY.
It's confusing because the CO said that we'll get the passport back in 3 weeks and then they do this. It's ridiculous to give hope and happiness and then do this stuff. Wouldn't it be much nicer to just be honest and say 2 months?
-
It feels nice to see your timeline RKX.
Doesn't feel like we're so alone in the process.
It's honestly a pain to deal with this thing. Do you have any insight to why they don't change the status often?
It's still stuck on READY since before the interview.

The embassy received our documents on Jan 7, and I got the interview email on Jan 25.
Honestly though, take everything they tell you with a grain of salt.
On Jan 15th, I sent them an email asking them why we still hadn't received our interview letter after our status was changed to READY.
They sent back an email saying that they hadn't received our documents yet. I knew that was inaccurate because I had tracked my mail to them and I knew that someone named A Khan had signed for it. Good luck. This process sucks!

Relax Ramsha. Your passport will come in a couple days. Once your status says ISSUED then that means that they're just going through the process of stamping it and putting it in the mail and then actually delivering it. You shouldn't email them anymore because every time you email them, they have to review your case, and that MAY or MAY NOT take extra time. But I would be very very very surprised if your passport doesn't come to you in the next 2 to 3 days. I can probably bet you $100 dollars that your passport will be delivered before Wednesday of the next week. So just relax and inshallah you'll be posting VERY soon about how happy you are that your passport just came.
Yes, I went through your same process and I had all of these questions too. The Islamabad Embassy is terrible when it comes to generic email replies that don't offer any information.
