Hello guys! We had our interview earlier today. It was quick and the IO was pleasant, very easy to talk to. ^^
Also, I got a notification that new card is being produced. Yay!
-
Hi JessDak. Do not worry. This will not be the issue. They will reorganize your application the way they want it when they receive it.
Good luck on your journey!
-
I just received a notification that my I485 is scheduled for an interview.
Drinks on me tonight!

Finally got my NOA today. It took over a month.
I see some of you got 3 NOAs, I only got one but it looks like it includes I-485 and I-765. The Biometrics appointment is also on the notice, i didn't receive a separate letter.
Do i need to call to find out about the I-130?
Also the biometrics appointment is 2 days before our wedding!!!! This is not convenient at all, but we would rather go than risk being delayed even further. The fact that we have to travel 2 hours to the nearest centre doesn't help either.
Hi! I think what you have is your Biometrics appointment letter; you should also call and ask about your NOAs because you didn't receive them.
If it helps, the receipt numbers are usually MSCxxxxxxxx1 MSCxxxxxxxx2 MSCxxxxxxxx3 (if processed at the NBC).
So maybe you could find out what the receipt number for your I-130 is (my receipt number for the i-130 is between I-485 and I-765).
*EDIT* As I have seen on your timeline that you are adjusting from K-1, you didn't send in the i-130 because you don't need it and you meant i-131.
You only need to do biometrics for I-485 and I-765.
Welcome to Georgia! I suggest you arrive early for your appointment. The wait to get in could take longer than the biometrics itself.
-
OK, I filed concurrently for I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-131.
My Biometrics was only for I-485-I-765.
Should I be worried?
You'll be fine. Biometrics isn't needed for Advance Parole.

Congrats on this one step forward you GC!)
Thanks! Hope you get your NOAs soon!

Good morning guys. A quick update, I just got back from my biometrics appointment in Atlanta ASC.
We had to go early because Atlanta morning traffic is crazy! We arrived about 7am for my 9am appointment.
I was third in line but had to step aside since 8am appointments were priority.
After the 8am people got in the rest of us were lead inside. I was done before 9am.
Now to more waiting
-
Hi! Give it a few hours or try again tomorrow. It takes a while for them to update. Hope you'll be able to check it soon!
-
Hello everyone,
How much time does it usually take to get a biometrics appointment letter?
My concurrent I-130/I-485 package was
- received at USCIS Chicago: April 4th
- Checks cashed & emails received: April 11th midnight
-Hard copy NOA received by mail : April 15th.
I was expecting my biometrics letter sometime this week - but I didn't. I'm a little worried. Should I be worried?
Hi you'll probably get something by this coming week. Don't worry. It takes a while to get the mail, depends on where you're living.
-
Nice!
When is your appointment? I hope to hear something soon too!
on the the 27th!
Based on your timeline it shouldn't be long for yours to arrive!
That's great! It's kinda fast
Yup! Hope you get yours too!

I remember only filling out the customs declaration card last December; and upon arrival you will have to use one of the self service kiosk to scan passport, customs declaration card, and input necessary information. Oh and it will also take your photo. Then it will print a slip that you present to the CBP officer.

Hi guys! Just like to share I have received my biometrics appointment letter today.
-
Hi April filers! I guess I'm joining you guys. I first sent AOS packet 3/14 but USCIS returned my packet 3/24 for uncompleted I-485 application. Which was... not true. So I resubmitted everything 3/24 and today USCIS have cashed application fees. I'm so glad they did. That means they're not going to return my application again.

Oh man
Oh no!!
So sorry to hear that!
Did they return your entire package? Do they explain what needs to be corrected??
They returned the whole package. I don't really understand why. It says
This is in reference to the I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, you submitted. Your I-485, fees, and any supporting documentation is being returned to you for the following reason(s):
The application/petition has not been fully completed. One or more of the following field(s) were not completed:
- Application TypeWhich I did. Everything was in order. I have selected option (a) for application type.
I reprinted all forms, signed, checked, and went to USPS. Hopefully everything is ok.
-
Now I know why I haven't heard anything from USCIS. They returned our application.
It seems I need to make a correction.
-
Mailed on 3/15, still nothing. Anddddd the uscis customer service rep couldn't seem to wrap her brain around why I was calling and what for, despite me explaining that I wanted to see if she could find our stuff. Said she can't look anyone up, not even using his A number.
Whatever. I'll keep waiting, it's 10 calendar days today.
Haven't heard anything too. USCIS received the application on the 16th. I hope we get an email today. We're going crazy. Best of luck!
-
Joining this thread as I just sent off my AOS, EAD and AP applications today
Finally mailed AOS package today...wish us luck
Good luck to you guys! Still waiting for our first NOA. Getting jittery to be honest!

Hello, I have been having a hard time finding correct information about the ITIN filling procedure. I have contacted two H&R Block acceptance agents, a private CPA Firm That has acceptance agents, The IRS both over the phone and in person. So far none of them seems to have a clue;it's shocking. The first one asked for my wife's drivers license and National ID (originals only) and also the marriage certificate (which is not mentioned anywhere in the required documents in the IRS website. The second place said they wouldn't do it because my wife should be here for them to accept her passport. I left in less than 5 minutes, because I wouldn't let someone who has no clue file my taxes. Then, after calling the IRS, the person on the phone stated clearly that she doesn't have that information and that should look at the website. I scheduled an appointment with the IRS tax assistance center, the lady there said that I would have to get a certified copy of the passport (which is, like everyone knows, somewhat a hassle to obtain in many countries). she also said that I can amend the return and include a W7 with it, which doesn't make any sense.
After that I called another H&R Block acceptance agent and she seemed to be helpful, until she said that I wouldn't be able to amend my return from MFS to MFJ.
You Guys are my last hope before I give up on filling jointly. The difference in the refund I will get If I file jointly is significant. Also for USCIS, it better to file jointly.
Does anybody have experience with the possibility of amending the return from MFS to MFJ? Can anybody advice me if I should just give up on it and file MFS? It has become very frustrating to call and meet tax professionals who only contradict each other's and leave us confused at the end. I mean, If I called the IRS themselves and they said that they don't have that information, than who else would know. I have faith in this forum, as I believe that peoples' experience is the best teacher and the best source of information. Please help! it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi Joemilli! My husband and I went through the same thing in regards on trying to obtain an ITIN for me.
First from what we were told at the TAC is that we can't apply for an ITIN because
- We got married this year, so my husband can only apply for joint filing for next year.
- W-7 should be filed together with the the tax returns.
- They need to have the passport(original) either at a certified TAC or you can send by mail and they'll send it back to you in a while.
I think an accountant would know if you can file jointly even if your spouse is not here in the US. I hope I helped in a way. Good luck!
-
I will be sending my husband's AOS package next week but I'm wondering hiw many passport pics is he suppose to include. We're also applying for the EAD/AP
Hi! I sent 2 for the I-485, 2 for I-765, and 2 for the I-131. So that's 6 passport photos in total.

Looking at my email all the time hoping for an update but i know theres about 3 more months of boredom before i can get any job... Since I plan to join the Navy, Ill have to wait for the greencard before i can really start my life

Hi fellow March 2016 FIlers! Packet sent on 3/14/16 and USCIS received it yesterday. I hope I got everything right since we did the application ourselves.
Any suggestions on what to do while waiting? It's driving me crazy since before they got it I can refresh USPS tracking site.. and now nothing.
