My fiancee recieved a mail that our K1 case has been forwareded to the US Consulate in Nigeria. Please what do we do next?.

Hello, my fiance (us citizen) recently missed our RFE deadline as he was trying to obtain a new copy of his birth certificate that took forever to arrive. We recieved a letter that our petition has been denied, what is our next step? This was our first time applying for the visa. Can we just apply again from the start? As I have read that we have to send a letter abandoning our last petition?

My fiance has his K1 Fiance Interview tomorrow. We have looked over all the requirements that it says to bring but when it says to bring evidence of our relationship I was wondering what they are looking for in particular. Will they have the documents that we sent in the original packet to USCIS with the intent to marry and how we met or does he need to bring it as well? Because if that's the case, then I will have to mail them to him and reschedule the interview. I guess we are just getting nervous because tomorrow is the day we have been waiting for since March 2015. We just want to make sure we have all that we need.
