  1. I got my diploma verified thru WES as well. I contacted my university and send them the consent letter which they sign and attach the diploma and transcripts and send it directly to WES (this was what WES required). I got my evaluation in less than 2 weeks after my university submit the documents.

(You have to submit your on part of the documents...check on the WES-webpage).

Can your wife not contact her school in russia?

The issue is that WES doesn't accept anything from russian schools anymore, only from ministry of education in russia. And russian ministry of education can only verify by sending them the original diploma by fedex/dhl and praying it comes back

  2. So we just came back from the interview in Garden City, NY.

We got seated in the office. My wife needed an interpreter, through the speaker the special assigned interpreter helped her.

Well here are the questions we were asked.

    1. Your wife's/husband's brother/sister names? What they do?

    2. Asked me wife's mother's name...

    3. asked my wife, address.

    4. When she arrived into the US? But she asked it in a tricky way.

    5. She asked her when we got married.

    6. All NO questions.

    7. Asked where we got married? I said vegas. She said why? I said get away from NY style.

    Documents asked...

    1. Copy of my passport or birth certificate/naturizalation paper...

    2. Proof we live together, I gave them my bank account statement and health insurance statement

    3. Marriage photos (she took 2). She asked photos from russia, but we didn't have any really because my wife gave them away in russia.

    4. Marriage certificate (certified) - showed and she gave back. And she wanted a photo copy of it.

    5. Aked for an employment letter, I didn't have it, instead gave her 5 pay stubs (you need to give 2 montths worth). I think she took that.

    6. Doctor's letter from vaccinations. She opened I believe and read it.

    7. She didn't ask for my 2006 tax return (I submitted mine for AOS), I Believe they already had it.

    8. Both of our passports.

Where did you get a doctor's letter regarding her vaccinations? From your regular doctor or immigration doctor??

    Immigration.

  4. Hi my wife got here through K1 visa and after now 5 months, it is going to be our first interview for residence. I was wondering what should I expect? Will will be interviewed seperately? My wife english level is like low-medium. She can understand everything basic and speak basic, but techno jumble, she doesn't understand. She should she get a translator? What should I bring?

    Thanks!!!
