  1. If you check the step-by-step guide on filing the K1 on visa journey, it states on the section "What to send your fiancé" on #3 that a new letter of intent is needed from the US fiance. You might want to check with the embassy to see if it is needed. It does need to be an original with a signature. I don't think the embassy asked for it but I included just in case.

Here is the link to the guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

I had gathered my affidavit of support in August and September and mailed it in October. My fiancé (now husband) didn't have his interview till the beginning of November. I would think you would be fine.

    Good luck!

    Thank you ?

Hi, my fiancee signed and mailed our forms about 1.5 months before my interview (the affidavit and such) and there was no issue with the 1.5 month old signature (it seems that that is the question you are getting at?) Hope this helps! And good luck

    Thank you ?

    Thanks everyone!

  2. But u need a signed letter of intent from your fiance also with recent date included or close to ur interview date as the one u already sent with ur petition was months ago. So the embassy wants new letter of intent from ur fiance to know he/she still wants to marry u within 90 days of u enter to usa

Is there official source for this where I could read it on?

The embassy didn't ask about it from the email. And I'll make the updated one for both of us. When my fiancé did the petition, he only sent them one letter which included all of the points, he made it for both of us, there wasn't even my signature in it.

  3. What about the signed letter of intent from him with recent date or close to the interview date?

What about the signed letter of intent from him with recent date or close to the interview date?

Letter of intent has already been sent during petition process. It didn't mention any date, just the intent to marry within 90 days after I get there. The petition was approved. And now I'm on step 2 K1 visa process. The embassy sent me email already last week to fulfill the requirements. I'll make updated letter of intent from me when I do interview.

I can't make interview appointment if I haven't gotten any documents from him. So, no interview date yet cause I'm still waiting his documents to arrive.

  4. What is important is the Tax returns for the current year, so you should be fine. 2015 tax returns are good enough. Your fiance should have ordered IRS transcript for 2015 but I think the returns should be fine with the bank statements even if they are two months old. He can always fax you copies of newer statements if needed.

    Thanks for the info ?

Your fiance can download his bank statements online. Usually the file is in pdf format so he can always email you the files. I think the IRS transcript is also in pdf.

For other things, your fiance can scan the document and email it to you.

    Thanks for the info ?

  5. Hi, I'm currently waiting the documents from my fiancé before I can set appointment for K1 visa interview at the US embassy.

The thing is, he sent those documents on regular mail and no tracking is available after it was shipped from the US. He sent the package on April 12. It's been a month and I still haven't gotten it. Most likely it will take 1.5-2 months to get here then.

Say if it arrived in June, would those documents still be valid for the interview?

    Thanks!

  6. I'm in the middle of K-1 process. We got NOA2 by email on March 30, 2016. And my fiance got NOA2 by mail on April 4, 2016. It's said that he should receive a notice from the NVC when they get the case.

How long does this usually take?

How long from they get the case until they assign a case number?

Do we need to call them to know the case number or they will let us know once they assign it?

How long do they take to send it to the Embassy after they set the case number?

Thanks so much! So far the comments on visajourney have been really helpful. :)

  7. I remember there was one case on here of a K1 that had a marriage ceremony after visa approval and before POE, and somehow the officers found the photo album in her lugage and denied her entry on the basis that her visa is not valid anymore.... but it's very rare to be denied entry when on a immigration visa, unless you are really stupid and bring drugs or something.

Is it possible for me to bring 3 or 5 month supply of birth control pills since I may be not eligible yet to get a health care service in the US? I'm a doctor in my home country. And I'd like to bring my health equipment too such as stethoscope, sphygmomanometer, glucose test device with the lancets and the strips, minor surgery equipments such as scissors, clamps, tweezers, etc because I plan to take the exams to be a doc again in the US after I get married with my fiance there. Thanks for your advice.

  8. it was genuine, I was married for 20 years before my ex-wife cheated on me and I got a divorce to start over. I also wanted kids and she couldn't have any.

My fiancé was intimidated by them and the asked her questions about my first wife that was 30 years ago and she didn't have the answers coz I never really discussed all the details with her as I though it wasn't relevant.

I thought the k1 visa after all the work and interview they ironed out all the wrinkles and confirmed the relationship was genuine. but the CBY were suspicious and kept asking her and insisting she was lying to mainly get a green card for the sole purpose of working and not getting married.

She never admitted to any of their accusations and they just made up their minds this was not a real relationship and revoked her entry.

If I knew they would be doing this I would of never let her fly alone and would of been there with her but now im just f****!

Wait, you said you done the k1 visa 20 years ago but you married your ex-wife which was brought by the k1 visa 30 years ago? I'm confused... But I guess I know what you mean.

  9. your not going to believe this after 13-14 months of waiting...

After 13months and skyping everyday, we finally got our Fiance Visa approved and scheduled the first flight out to be together.

After traveling for 25 hours and entering CBP in LAX they just had to burst the bubble. Accused her of lying and said you are coming here to work, liar. And she really got scared when they said we can put you in jail for 5 years if your lying. Took away her cell phone so she couldnt call me, i spent 2 hours in the airport looking for here in miami but she never showed since they were holding her prisoner. They called me later but only told me she was being sent back on the next plane home and no other info they would provide.

I had to wait 3 days before I could finally speak with the frail girl who's dreams and life had been shattered .

At this point i'm not sure what to do as I am really screwed.

They pushed her to sign a 5 year ban not to re-enter the country when she did not admit to any wrong doing.

Only there accusations that she is lying, marrying an us citizens to come here get a job then divorce him.

Took away her cellphone, locked her up in a closet, held her for 15hours and only gave her a cup of water and noodles to eat.

sent her back on the next plane and she had to wait in Shanghai for another 15 hours with no phone, would not give her any water or food for 15 hours.

Never fly on China eastern, they are obviously not nice people.

    Totally screwed! Did nothing wrong!

Oh my god... I'm sorry that you have to go through this situation. Did they give any options or informations to you regarding this situation?

This was the K-1 visa?? Your timeline say I-1??

I have never heard of this before!

yeah I'm confused too about this.
  10. We receive today bad news, we just find out that our petition for I-129F was denied, they sent us by mail a letter with the explanation and the options that we have, I really feel down because I don't think only in myself and my fiancé, my main concern is our daughter, now she is going to be depress and sad, and that's make me feel so bad, we don't know the options that they say until we receive the notification by mail, I hope that you guys can be approved and I wish you all the best, God bless you all!

Hi wmelo25. Thanks for updating me. I'm so sorry to hear about your bad news :( .

Anyway, what were their reasons to reject it? You could message me if you didn't wanna post it to public here. Although folks might find it useful to be informed about it. Thanks for your wish for me and my fiance. Stay strong!!

  11. Oh, I'm sorry i misunderstood, well hopefully we're going to hear some news in a few weeks in Jesus name??

Hi wmelo25, my fiance just got a reply about the case inquiry. They said that the case is currently being reviewed, and we should expect Notice of Action within 45 days. Notice of Action can be in approval, denial, transferred, RFE, or Notice of Intend to Deny form. So, hopefully we would get the good news!

  12. Woow that's crazy, you have been waiting 11 months already since you guys filed?, I trying not to think about it either but sometimes is not easy, especially with a daugther waiting for me over there...

Not 11 months. It's 6 months in total since we filed the I-129f. We got sent RFE letter about 2 weeks later, and they received the RFE back a month after we filed the I-129f. So we counted from the date they received our RFE, then it's been 5 months.

  13. So, we are in day 30th since they receive our RFE and we haven't get any answers about the NAO2, I really don't know what to think anymore, I have read that they take 60 days to respond, but I see many people getting their approval quicker than others, I know every case is different but I also read that CSC is one of the fastest USCIS office, so that's why I don't know why they are in delay, this's the 4th month for us, I wish that we can hear good news ASAP...

It's been 5 months since they received the RFE for me,and been 6 months since my fiance filed the I-129f. And we haven't heard anything from them. Tell me about it. Read some that CSC took longer than other service centers but again I can't be so sure about this. Some folks got their decision in days, weeks, even 6 months after the RFE. No idea about the cause of delay. Now I just try not to think about it too much and just live my life the best I can. Always look for something to do to distract myself.

  14. Thank you so much for your support, I do really appreciate it, yes this waiting game is crazy, I guess we need to have more patience which is not easy at this point, I just hope that we can get good news this week or ASAP and be approved, we have been together 14 years already, our daughter is 13 years old, they are my everything

You're welcome! Good luck for everything! ?

  15. Right now it seems slow indeed, but once you're I-129F is approved, things will speed up.

So I would suggest looking into this http://jakarta.usembassy.gov/visa/fiance_k1_visa.html

Open the website on a PC or FULL SITE option.

Then it'll direct you to the Embassy's requirements on interview day, medical, etc.

    Good luck

    Blooms

Thank you! ? and yes I've been preparing for that too so when the time comes I can fulfill the requirements really fast. Have a great day!

  16. I know every case is different, but mines is totally different than anybody else because we have a daughter in common and we were married before for 6 years, but we decide to separate because I came back to my country to finish my career as a civil engineer and now that I finish we want to come back together again like before, that why we are desperate and I feel kinda sad because everytime that I talk with my daughter she ask me when are you coming back home dada and is very hard to answer because we don't know when and how long is going to take this all process to get done, we pray to the Lord every single day that this situation can be done ASAP... As a father is not easy for me

Oh wow! Yes it's a complicated story. But I hope yours will go pretty smoothly because of the previous relationship history and has a daughter as evidence! I'm with you, I keep praying that this will be done ASAP. This waiting game with no certainty has been getting on my nerves and sometimes it gets to me soooooooo much as if I was about to go crazy for the long wait. Making posts and vent about it apparently helps a bit. ?

  17. We're in the same boat, we receive the NOA1 on Nov 27 2015, ending jun 2016 we receive a RFE which was sent it 2 weeks later and they receive it on Feb 17. 2016, since then we haven't hear anything about it, next month in going to be the 5th month already

If I counted it from we filed it the first time before we got the RFE then it has been 6 months already now. I hope you hear from them soon! I'm waiting their reply on our case inquiry regarding the long processing time so I'm so hoping that there would be a light at the end of the tunnel by April 2, 2016 knowing something about it from them.
