@Json have you gone for your passport at the dhl please kindly update me thanks
He received a call saying they needed a copy of his birth certificate to complete the packet to send to dhl. They must have lost it. Anyway I imagine that’s delayed things, plus Thursday was a US holiday. he was suppose to receive the passport by today. hopefully early next week he will get the call to pick up the passport.

Update: Hey guys! It took 5 years but my husband is coming home! He hasn’t met our youngest son yet as I couldn’t afford to visit him after his birth! It’s been a long hard road and it’s finally coming to a close. He went for his interview this morning and his visa was issued! He is to pick it up in 2 weeks time! Please be encouraged and stay committed there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi I just have a huge doubt about the extreme hardship letter that needs to be submitted with form I601 and I212. Is it recommended to have an attorney do it for me or can I do it myself? Ive heard this plays a big role in determining whether the waiver gets approved or not. Please anyone... I'm in a huge dilemma and I have to send it by next month with the forms
My husband and I couldn’t afford a lawyer so we researched (a lot) and did it ourselves. Took us longer than a month to compile all the evidence though. We submitted the i-601 and the i-212 at the same time and they were both approved with no requests for additional evidence. There are some YouTube videos which show sample waivers. Maybe view those and see if you think it’s something you can do.

Our I-212 and I-601 are approved and it has been over a month. We haven’t received an email stating my husband should pick up a dhl package for further instructions. He is processing from Ghana any advice?

Hi Json, may I know what do you mean by you got an email from your senator office?
I wrote my state senator and completed a request for assistance form. A representative called me back and said she would get an update. The next correspondence was an email saying that my husband was approved on June 26th.

I did not expedite. The senator’s representative requested an update and our next correspondence was an email saying my husband was approved! Our receipt date was March 2017. According to my email the waiver was approved June 26th.

My husband called and felt the officer was discouraging him from trying to expedite the case. The officer stated that we are in the final months and an expedite could actually prolong the process. The person also stated an expedite could take about a month. Has that been the case for anyone in this group? The expedited services took a month or longer to complete? Our receipt date is March 2017

My husband and I completed our I601 waiver and I212 application independently. We submitted both documents on March 20th. Yesterday May 2nd, I received a voicemail from the attorney's office we used in years past. The message stated that the US consulate had been trying to reach my husband to schedule an interview and they stated the interview would be at the end of the month!!!!!! We have yet to receive an approval letter/package )which is what I read other people receive) by way of DHL. My first question: is it safe to say we are approved since the interview was scheduled? My husband went to the embassy to see if they would tell him more information since we didn't get a letter. Security would not let him enter and advised that he just show up for the interview. So he is going into the interview blind. My second question is: are there any standard documents that he should take or actions that he should make prior to this particular interview. My husband has been out of the country since October 2013, don't want to mess this up or prolong it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My husband overstayed for less than a year then for years he went through administrative processing well the end result was he was ordered removed by a judge but agreed to voluntary depart, which he did. That was in Oct. of 2013. In the mean while I reapplied for him and underwent my interview all which was approved. He recently received notice that his interview date would be April 11 of this year.
The officer who interviewed me said Frlix probably wouldn't need the waivers as his Barr would be almost up. Our attorney says differently. Doing my own research I was inclined to agree with the officer but after learning of the interview date I got a little spook and thought what if the attorney is right! I recently went to a local USCIS office and spoke with another immigration officer to discuss whether or not my husband was under a 3 or 10 year bar. This immigration officer said the same thing as the first officer, he told me that my husband would not need a waiver if he stayed out of the US for 3 years as he is only barred for 3 years. Well the three years is up in October yet the interview is in April.
Which waiver do we need? Do we need a waiver at all? Should we ask the embassy to push he date back to October? Will the embassy reschedule for reasons like this? Is it possible that the officer will approve my husband 6 mos. before his bar expires? What the hell do we do?
Also if it's your belief that we need the waiver can/should my husband submit the waivers at the start or conclusion of the interview?
Finally, my daughter and I have been visiting my husband for the summers. I would obviously forfeit our summer plane tickets if it would help our case to go the interview with my husband in April. Don't want to do that if there's no chance of him being approved.
If I've left out any pertinent information please let me know. I just need some knowledgeable advice.

@kwadwo, he is home 😊. Wishing everyone to be reunited with their loved ones. Don't give up, this wasn't an easy experience by any means, but seeing my family together again made it all worth it.
