Ok guys !!! thanks for the advice...

Hi,
I recieved my EAD/AP card like a 2 weeks before I got my actual Perminant Resident card. I am going to be flying back to UK for 3 months and was a little concerned about carrying both as I heard the Perminant Resident card is difficult to replace a lost/stolen one. The EAD card expires next August 2017 and I will definitely be back in the US by then. Will it be ok to just take the EAD card and show that on re-entry to the US?

Had my AOS interview in LA on Monday, for want of better words, I passed with flying colours... A little of my case history
Dec 2010 - Met other half been back both of us been and forth across pond at least 2 twice a year
Dec 2014 - left UK with K1 to Cali
Mar 2015 - Got married in Vegas
Mar 2015 - had to leave US back to UK before filing AOS as we had arguement - so I went to Canada in order not to overstay & treat myself to a nice Vacay!
May 2015 - Came back to US on VWP, stayed for 3 months then went back to UK - punished her with loneliness for arguing with me!!!
Jul 2015 - Left for UK
Feb 2016 - Came back to US
May 2016 - Filed for AOS
Jul 2016 - Biometrics
Aug 2016 - Recieved EAD/Travel Card
Sep 2016 - AOS Interview - Passed
The interview was a hell of a lot easier than expected, literally was in there for no more than 5 mins... All he asked to see was photos and my SSN which I forgot to bring!!! He asked her questions about her job and rent... He asked me why I left K1 process & went to Canada & what I planned to do for the future in the US... Then said GC will be in mail, 2 year conditional...
Tips, TELL THE TRUTH, DON'T BULL@@@@ THEM...
If you are going to the LA downtown office, $8 dollars parking which is opposite the actual building (look for the big blue sign), airport style security on entrance.
Good lucks

AOS last week, approved, GC in the mail!...

You're gonna need your EAD card, Passport and Social Security card application form that you can find on this link https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ss-5.pdf
Just fill out the form and take it with those documents to the nearest social security office. You can use their website to locate an office nearest to you.
I haven't gone through the process myself yet, as I'm waiting for my card to arrive, but this is what I understood from the form's instructions.
Thanks...

Hi,
My EAD/Travel Auth have been authorised. I assume they are in the mail, what forms do I need to file for an SSN?
-
I assume they were legal, as they were planning on coming back again and the bakery they worked in was a very high end expensive restaurant.

Hi,
I met these couple at a party last night and I completely forgot to ask them what type of Visa they came to the US using. They were French nationals, both in their 20s and their duration was only in the US for a year with a few months to go. They were both working in a bakery.
I have had a look through the visa list to match, but I can't seem to see one that would put them into a category. I will never meet these people again so I can't even ask!

Thank you for your help guys. I was wondering, assuming the AOS interview will go well, do they give you the card there and then or is there more waiting to do? I really need to get my Cali driving licence and start work as I am going crazy staring at the wall!

May I add, the 'we' is me and my USC spouse...

Hi,
I came on a VWP and filed AOS/EAD/Travel Auth. I am currently out of status for my i-94.
I was under the assumption that the EAD/Travel Auth was going to be before the AOS(i-485) interview, however after nearly 3 months of waiting today I recieved a I-797C Request For Application to Appear for Initial Interview which is exactly next month. Is this unusual?
The form also states that we need to bring supporting evidence of relationship, but due to not ever being able to work in the US, all I have is a US Bank account (with deposits and withdrawels) with my address, I only have a prepaid phone so I don't even have that as a utility bill. Is this enough????

Sorry, I should have said I came here as a spouse on VWP, then filed to AOS using i-130 & i-485.

Hi, I came here on a marriage visa. We got married on a previous visit to the States. We filed for AOS/EAD/Travel Auth during my I-94 but that has since expired although we filed before it expired.
At what point can one apply for a California driver's licence also?
-
Having filed my AOS/EAD/Travel Auth in May, I was wondering what is the next step to getting an SSN? I am still awaiting the EAD/Travel Auth in the mail, I understand AOS takes much longer, however, at which point do I receive an SSN? or how do I got about getting one?
Regards

I currently have a UK driving licence for more than 10 years. My I-94 would have expired by now, although I handed my AOS before it did expire.

Hi,
I have recently completed my Biometrics session in South California and was wondering what would be the process now in applying for a California Driving licence? Anyone had any experience in this at all ?
-
You should seriously consider playing if you don't already. Returning on vwp was clearly with intent to immigrate, but cbp let you in. That's lucky ! You need to file I-130 and I-485 and with this kind of luck you'll get approve pretty fast.
As for the others who came and adjust from vwp, there's a major difference here. Intent cannot be proven, but when you leave K-1 process unfinished and come back on vwp, I'd bet my socks that intent is pretty clear.
Are you serious??? Because from the moment of my last exit of the US on my K1 to this Entry on VWP, I have entered the US on VWP but left obviously without filing AOS as I still had stuff to sort back home... The CBP officer even had this info on his computer and we went through it, that is why I asked him if their is anything I should be aware of before he let me through, I honestly had no problem if he had sent me back, I just wanted to be straight with them.
-
As you're in the US already you can do the adjustment.
In my opinion though that CBP officer should be disciplined, one of their jobs is to prevent people doing exactly what you did and this one not only allowed it but gave you advice on it.
One question though, on your previous K-1 entry. You got married within the 90 days but did you also leave to go back to Blighty before the 90 days were up too?
Yes, on my previous K1 I left before the 90 days... I did not overstay...
-
The immigration officer told me to sort my GC out ASAP, he did not ask for information regarding a return flight out of the US... I even asked him do is there anything you think I need to know before you let me through, he said just make sure you get your AOS sorted...
If you enter the US on VWP with the intent to not leave your entry was in violation of the terms of VWP.
-
Ok, so do I need to go back to the UK then? As I was under the assumption I could apply for AOS while being here.

I am confused by this statement
"If you are already married, and your spouse came to the US on a tourist visa with the intent of immigration and marriage, then he/she should return to his/her home abroad, and the I-130 (or along with an I-129f for a K-3 Visa) should be filed with the relative outside of the U.S. to avoid denial, deportation, or even being banned from re-entry to the US."
Do I have to go home ????????? I was told that I need only an i-485, is this the correct guie...

Hi all, a history of my visa journey...
I came from London on a K1 last year 2014 dec and me and my fiance married before the 90 day period was up but due to unforseen circumstances I had to take a flight back and sort an unrelated issue. This stopped me from adjusting my status but I was informed I could come back and AOS on VWP. Now I am back in the US and have been here a week, on VWP (exp end of May). We have the i-485 form but we are confused as the process seems a different than when we looked using K1.
We spoke briefly to an attorney who she knows personally and he says I just need to fill in i-485 and that should be it. However, I would like a 2nd opinion from someone that has possibly been or is in the same situation. Is there anything other than the i-485 I need to send along with this application. Do I need another medical as 1 year has certainly passed since I took it back in London, (I have the records with me though). I can't seem to find a specific guide to this on VJ for this instance.
Many thanks for taking time to look at this question.

I filed I751 removal of conditions through attorney last March 2020 and I have yet to received anything, just two notices of actions asking me to wait. However I have changed address and the attorney has asked me to do it online as they have said:
