  1. I'm filling out the newest version of form I-130 for my husband. Section 5 question 2 asks about previously filed petitions. Last year we applied for a K1, but decided to go a different route and got married- basically abandoning our K1. I'm assuming for this question I put my husband's name under "name" (since he was the beneficiary), my question is what do I put under town and state? My address when I filed it? Where I sent it to? My husband is still in Canada so he has no US address. Also, assuming I should just put "abandoned" or "withdrawn" under result?

Thanks for any help! I wasn't sure how to input this info with new 130 form.

  2. Hey if anyone out there knows....I needed some clarification on whether or not you can get a work permit with a K-1 visa. I have read some things that say that isn't allowed anymore, but the USCIS website says you can file I-765 for a 90-day permit based on a K-1, and then apply for an extended work permit with your AOS.

Does anyone do this? I'm wondering how long it would take to file/get a work permit on your K-1? Could you continue to work while you file for an extension with AOS and not have to stop working? any information or links on this would be awesome...

I currently don't have work (hoping to soon) and my fiancé is hoping he can get work really soon after he arrives in the US from Canada. Thanks : )

  3. I wrote a half page continuation to 34a outlining how we met and got to know each other. We met in 2013 and see each other every weekend- should i just write two sentences saying that and then "see attachment"? right now i just have "see attachment" without anything else. sorry the answer is probably already out there somewhere!

  4. I'm completely new to the site so forgive me if I post this in the wrong place!

I was hoping I could get help with a few different questions I have for filing the I-129F for my Canadian boyfriend.

    1. I'm going to be 18 in one month but am hoping to send my paperwork in before that. if I include a notarized parental consent affidavit, and maybe a copy of Washington state law that says I can marry with their permission, will this be enough?

    2. I see my boyfriend every weekend (for the last 3 years) since he lives 3 hours away, so I don't have a lot of evidence like plane tickets, itineraries, or anything. I have lots of pictures, a hotel receipt and my boarding pass from one trip we took, also my dad is my pastor and he wrote a statement that he will do our wedding, etc. Should we ask the border guard who knows my bf to write a note saying he knows us? Maybe letters from people we know?

I'm not sure how much info the USCIS is looking for, and what can just wait till the interview. Thank you!!!!!
