Just got back to my husband's work assignment in the UK after a whirlwind 72 hours in california. The oath was amazing!!! Looks like quite a few of us were at the AM session in LA Thursday?? All in all there were 3071 naturalized that morning I believe, from 143 countries. Truly incredible. I loved how quick it all was, too. The ceremony itself was 30 minutes, very precise and punctual.

Friday I spent the day at the passport agency in San Diego getting an emergency US passport for our travel back to the UK saturday, and I must say, it TRULY hit me that I was a US citizen when they handed me my beautiful blue US passport that afternoon!! So exciting!!!

I still can't believe it all!! Good luck to everyone coming up on interviews and oath ceremonies, and congrats to everyone who is officially American!! Woohoo!!!

For who's done their oath at the LA Convention Center, is there any limit to how many guests we can bring?? From the LACC's website, it looks like the event is open to the public...

Success! Rescheduled oath scheduled for August 11 in LA. Can't wait!!

I still haven't gotten my rescheduled oath ceremony, and the soonest Infopass appointment wasn't for a couple of weeks.... tried walking in, but the farthest I could get was the guard at the front of the building, who I gave a copy of my letter and oath ceremony notice to and begged to pass it along to the right people.

I'm starting to get anxious, but hopefully I'll hear something soon!!

Don't worry, we had a terrible interview experience too, a very aggressive IO, but in the end the supervisor signed off no problem! I'm sure it'll be the same for you!!

On the other hand, though.... guys, I need your help!!! :-O

My interview was last Tuesday. I was freaking out for the same reason as Shounok, wondering if I was going to be approved or not because my IO was so terrible, but then Friday afternoon I got a text saying straightaway that my oath had been scheduled! I was super happy, especially since I knew there was an August date coming up for Santa Ana/ Los Angeles oath ceremony a little less than 4 weeks out at that point, so I was positive that I had been put into that one!

Well, bad news... just got our mail, and our oath ceremony was scheduled for..... (drum roll) YESTERDAY!!!! What the heck!?!??!

The letter is postmarked last Friday, i.e. the 15th, and the ceremony was for July 20 at 12:10 pm. We don't even get our mailman dropping our mail off until **5 PM**!!! I am so upset that they would schedule the oath so close, and then rely on USPS to get us the letter in time!!!!

Obviously I immediately overnighted a letter explaining that we didn't get the oath notice until too late, as well as the original oath ceremony notice, to the Santa Ana office per the instructions on the letter. I also made a copy of both and am going to hand deliver it to the guard in front of the building, to see if he can get it inside any faster. But I'm super stressing, after all the crazy stories of people having to reschedule their oaths and never hearing anything back!! Why would they have scheduled it like that?!?!

Anyways, if you have any advice or anything on other things I can do, please let me know!!! Apparently I could have been a US citizen yesterday.... oh well, my time soon will come! ;-)

Interview was today!

I think it went okay??

I brought a ton of documents and evidence. The IO didn't ask for any of it, just my passport, green card, and driver's license. I passed the tests, but then the IO got pretty aggressive about my religion. In the end, the IO printed out a letter saying that I had been recommended for approval, but said that he was going to pass my case to another officer to take a look at. I still haven't gotten a status update saying that I'm inline for an oath, though... how long after the interview does that usually take?

Also, the IO never asked me to sign my passport photos. Is that something that is usually done at the interview, or at the oath?

Not sure if it helps, but we're in the OC office too! You can check out our dates to get an idea for yourself. Our GC date is June 7, 2013, priority date March 14 or something around that, and we got scheduled for an interview in Orange County about 2 weeks ago, for July 12. You'll be getting yours scheduled any day now, I'm sure! :-)

I am actually OUT of the US right now though... without my passport My husband was transferred abroad for work. Supposedly the UK only needed my passport for 10 days to put a visa in it. With the impending Brexit thing going on though, they told me after they had the passport that it was now going to be 6-8 months before they could process and give back my passport.

I spoke to a really awesome Tier 2 officer yesterday, who put in a request to reschedule my interview and detailed the times we could do. The local embassy out here can get me a second passport, but needs a few months to do so, so I'm hoping they'll give me the interview in August or September. We shall see! Never a dull moment ..

However, thus far the rescheduling process has been very smooth! We'll see if it continues this way!

Please check out the picture below towards the bottom where it states that "PLEASE keep this appointment, even if you do not have all the items indicated above". They would probably issue a RFE and process your application, which might take less time than having to fit you in an interview again.

Interview scheduled for July 12th. Debating whether to try and reschedule or not, as I don't know if I'll have my passport back from the UK Home Office or not. Yikes!

Darn! Just got updated as "Interview is scheduled". We are out of the country for the next 2 months for my husband's work... looks like we're going to have to be making a few trips back home now for the interview and oath!

Officially in line for an interview!!! Great posts on the subject by the way. Ours follows the timeline perfectly! 30 days before our GC date would have been Saturday May 7, so it got pushed to the Monday following the weekend.... awesome!!!

The move is the reason why they expedited my application. So I had to prove it.

Is the move for the military?

We are moving abroad as well, and our request to expedite was denied. So we're hoping/praying that our interview will be before we leave in a few weeks XD

She didn't ask for anything really I volunteered it( proof that we are moving overseas for 3 years) as soon as we started. We walked into the office, she swore me in, asked for passport and ID, then did the writing, reading and history test. She asked me these questions:

1.What group of people were taken as slaves...

2. Highest court?

3. Why were colonists fighting British?

4. Who makes federal laws?

Then she asked questions about the application, had me sign the bottom and as she was printing something out she stamped approved on the application. She then told that I have been approved and "they" scheduled for the oath ceremony at the Boeing Musem of flight on the 21st which is annoying because they do same day oath. Hope this helps

I did my biometrics over a month ago, in March, and our case still shows as "case received". Hopefully both of ours will change soon!

When is the first time that your online case status changes? When you are in-line for an interview? We had our BioMetrics on 4/22 and our status still simply says "case received"- does it stay with that status until we are "in line"? Thanks

That's what I'm worried about too. :/ They said to just call in every 1-2 weeks and speak to a Tier II officer to see if anything in my status has changed, because we aren't receiving our mail, and my case status online is still only showing as "received"!

Unfortunately we haven't been receiving mail for about 6 weeks now... something at our post office is seriously out of whack. All of our neighbors receive their mail. Our postmaster has no idea where our mail is going, and thinks it's disappearing in a black hole. I'm hoping it gets resolved because I'm super nervous that we're going to miss my interview or something! We almost missed the biometrics, they were able to tell us about it and fax it to us right in time!

I still never got my NOA, which according to USCIS was sent out over a month ago! I called and they tried resending it, but I never received the re-sent one either... however, they faxed us our biometrics letter (also never received via mail), and we were able to do our biometrics with the faxed letter. When I called again, they said that since I had already done the biometrics, the NOA didn't really matter, and that there was no need to have them try and resend it again.

Yes, we did! We put both my name and my husband's name on the money order, just to be safe.

They wound up sending everything else separately: our application, a rejection notice, and instructions on how to proceed in one envelope. And the check separately. So maybe they sent both packages out for you on the same day, and just the check made it a day earlier than the rest? I'd call USCIS tomorrow just to be sure... :/

That may be the case as only my husband's name is on it and he still has his previous address on the checks so that may be the problem. But they kept all your other documents until you returned the payment?

Not sure if this would be the case for you guys, but our last application was returned because the check only had my husband's name on it and our joint address, and not my name on it. They asked for a check with both of our names on it or a money order, and we were on our way. We still kept the same priority date though!

Hey guys I have a quick question. I mailed my N400 package on March 29th. It was received at the Dallas lockbox on April 1st. I received no e-notification or anything like that nor the NOA1. I just got home and found they returned the check in the mail with nothing else inside saying why it was returned. Neither is the check marked void to say it was electronically cashed.The check is in my husband's name don't know if that would be a problem. The funds haven't been taken from the bank or anything and it seems they still have the package as it hasn't been sent back. I'm going to call in the morning but I just wanted to know if anyone else experience this.

We did our biometrics on 3/30 as well, and still haven't received any update to our case status... in fact, our case status still shows as "Case received"! How long until the case typically goes to "in line"? I was under the impression that it was pretty soon after doing the biometrics?

Our case status still shows as Case Received as well, even though our biometrics are already done....

Did my walk in biometrics today! No problem whatsoever for coming in 2 weeks early; just had to wait 2 hours because their systems went down, and none of the USCIS workers there could figure out how to log back in until a supervisor could drive in from on her break.

I think I'm the only one in this situation, but just in case anyone else's biometrics get lost- I was able to talk to a Tier 2 officer, who resent the notices, and when we confirmed that THOSE had gotten lost, as well, they were able to fax us my biometrics letter. I brought the faxed copy in, and had no problems at all.

Thankful that everything seems to be back on track. Hopefully my interview letter isn't lost, too!
