  1. Thank you for your reply.

I forgot to mention they did include a green paper saying this application was refused and to lay the green paper on top of the package when i return it.

I vaguely remember something that the fees are higher if you are filing after 90 days, but for the life of me I cannot recall it exactly. maybe a dream haha

So, i guess I will just mail the exact same package back to them, with the green paper on top and call it good? Maybe I will add an attachment what happened.

  2. My whole package and money order has been returned, 9 days after I mailed it and now we are past 90 days on our k1 visa. Is she here illegally?

I wrote the single money order for $1,225, because I thought $1,140 for i485 and $85 for the biometrics.... well I didn't realize those updates fees took effect AFTER 12/23/2016.

Now, all my paperwork has numbers printed on the bottom, similar to a routing number on a check and I'm wondering if I have to redo all my papers.

More questions I have, since now my wife has been here past 90days don't we have to pay some extra fee or such? Also, I imagine now we have to pay the updated fees since it is after 12/23/2016?

  3. Fiancée coming on k1

Future mother in law coming on a tourist visa.. Cannot speak English (I taught her "no English" and "daughter translate" lol)

And unfortunately I read I cannot help them in the visa line, as I have to be in residents line

We have the passports, visas, itinerary, letter for mother in law briefly stating our situation with my contact info and saying how I'll support her, she also has her return ticket printed and bank account statement, plus letter from her employer stating she needs to be back by Dec 15, and a marriage certificate to show she has a husband to go back to.

Idk what form the mother in law might also need??? Something they hand out on the plane for sure, is it the white form?

Could some kind soul give a quick run down on what my fiancée and her mother will go thru at CBP checkpoint and customs? any paperwork I might not have?

Wish I could go with them in the visas line, would be able to help them communicate. When they signal my fiancée or mother in law up to the desk/window should they both walk up together since the mother in law needs a translator?

Sorry, just having some last minute panicking here, back to trying to sleep.....doubt I can

Thanks visa journey for tolerating these questions

  4. So, she doesn't speak English but my fiancée will be entering with her via k1 visa, and she speaks English. I plan on writing a short letter describing their situation and moms travel plan.

The mom will have her passport, ID, Visa, return ticket, credit cards and maybe bank account info. I was thinking of writing a second letter saying how I will sponsor them for all their needs.

I'm confused about the I94... Nothing we have to fill out for that?

  5. You two sound like every other couple here. You have met each other in person more, and have even known each other longer than many members here. You seem to have all the evidence you need, and It's the good in person evidence.

Front loading is providing anything extra. Follow the k1guide on this website. In person evidence is huge, I would load up on that. That and chat history.

Yea, you're right about your age, gender and religion being a red flag. I'm sorry you have to deal with other people's bullshit. I like to think you will be judged by the same standards as the rest of us, love. Double, triple check all your paperwork.

Just a thought but if I was you then I would hint at being a moderate Muslim(if you are), and I would never say the word terrorist, don't even say "I hate ISIS". I would try so hard to describe my feelings for her, and show them she owns me and heart

  6. We are unsure whether or not to send in the form (Notification of Applicant Readiness DS2001-HNK) since it says to do so after we have obtained ALL the documents on the checklist. Well, she started the process for the police certificate but the people at the Certificate of No Criminal Convictions office told her they will send the certificate straight to the US consulate in Hong Kong ..... we will actually never obtain THAT document in our hand.

I have called the consulates Hong Kong number, and was told to fill out a visa inquiry form and wait to send them the DS2001-HNK until the consulate receives the certificate..... which may take up to 45 days.

I will call the US number tomorrow as I've had better luck speaking to native English speakers.

Was just hoping someone else had been in a similar situation, I feel she is safe to send them the DS2001-HNK as long as they have the certificate in hand for the interview.

  7. We are hoping for my fiancée from Hong Kong to arrive and be married by Oct/Nov/Dec. When should her family apply for a visa? Her mother would prefer to come and stay for as long as possible to see her only child settle in to a new country, a 6 month tourist visa is in the realm of possibility for her, correct?

Bonus question- We are considering a small courthouse wedding to meet the 90 day requirement, and then having a large ceremony in the summer of 2016. At that time in 2016 would the government see this ceremony as a legit wedding and issue visas to her friends/family normally as if it was a "real wedding"?

  8. I finally came to Hong Kong to meet my love and we got engaged a couple days ago.

Today I got news my Grandfather is very ill and he very likely won't be alive by the time a k1 is approved.

I really want them to meet in person and they want to meet eachother, what would be my best hope to make that happen soonest? Should we wait a month(s) to fill out k1 petition and just focus on a b2 right now?

For what it's worth fiancée isn't in school or working right now and lives with her parents. She will have a job, and does have plane tickets to vacation in Japan this June, so she would have to be back in Hong Kong for that.
