  1. I put this in another forum as well but here goes....

My I-129F was approved August 7th and is set to expire soon....

My fiance got a good old fashioned case of "cold feet" but we've decided without a doubt that we want to continue with our lives together.

How do I ask for an extension on my approved petition? Do I contact the embassy in London directly?

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  2. Please help!

My I-129F was approved August 7th, and is set to expire on December 7th.

To make a long story short, my fiance had a good case of "cold feet", and we've just decided without a doubt to continue on with our K-1 process.

Here's my question: Obviously there is not enough time to get his police record etc., and finish up the rest of the paperwork and exam by the 7th of next month.

What do I do? Do I contact the London Embassy directly to request an extention on my petition?

Has anyone ever gone through this process before?

Thanks so much in advance for your help!

  3. They were open on the 3rd...they opened the doors long enough to approve my I12-f

Thanks for not throwing it in the faces of those of us who've been waiting for more than 100 days... geesh..

I did have a touch today (july 4th).. so is it even remotely possible that they are working on a holiday????

  4. Nope. Nothin'. Nada. Nil. Nuttin'.

NOA1 Mar. 27th and a NSC to CSC transfer.

I'm fresh out of optimism when it comes to our government... I'm guessing that IF they DID actually send my RFE, the USPS truck carrying it rolled over on the interstate and burst into flames or something of that nature.... would be my luck lately.

  5. :reading::reading::thumbs:

You woukld think they would process ones that are complete and ready for further processing instead of waiting for RFE replies for applications with earlier dates. They gotta go with what they have they are backed up already and more waiting only would make it worse.

    Thats my 2 cents

Right on! Who cares about the ppl who've been waiting for 120 days cuz of the goverment's screw up. Might as well make em' wait even longer cuz they (the gov't.) couldn't even send out the RFE's in the proper order too...

  6. The real tragedy to this whoel RFE is that people in my situation (NOA 2 approved months ago and interview cancelled) are waiting on nothing. Because I have no criminal record all I am doing on the RFE is signing my name. Nothing but signing my name to a piece of pre-printed paper with my case number and fiances name on it. I don't have words to express the months of agonizing pain and lack of reasoning behind this horrible implementation of IMBRA.

I can't imagine the emotional letdown of thinking you were "at the finish line" only to have to start the race all over again.....

But... at least your petition was processed. I've been waiting since march for them to even start mine. It could be worse.

  7. Not that I am not happy for everyone getting the RFE's, especially the ones from Nebraska, but I am at the same time a bit upset at the moment. I have a NOA1 date of 3/24/06 from Nebraska and I still have yet to recieve my RFE, however I have noticed several people here with NOA1 dates of May from Nebraska that are getting the RFE's. Seems like perhaps California is working from newest to oldest!!! :crying::crying::crying::crying:

    My thoughts EXACTLY!

Anyone wanna try to reason why mail can get from California to Illinois faster than it can to Colorado or even Minnesota?????? I LOVE THE US GOVERNMENT! THEY ROCK!!

  8. The logical thing to do would be to keep processing them in order of NOA1, but AS the RFE's come in.

Meaning...everyone on March 7th wouldnt have to wait for EVERY single person from March 6th to submit an RFE back. But if there was a March 6th with an RFE in, they'd go before a March 7th with an RFE in. Make sense? I mean, you have to consider that there may be people not quite as diligent as us, who will take months to respond to the RFE. USCIS is not going to wait for that person. Its entirely impractical.

    Just my thoughts

The problem with this is that they are SENDING RFE'S OUT TO PPL WITH NOA1'S IN APRIL AND MAY BEFORE THOSE FROM MARCH! (sorry had to get that off my chest) Other than that tidbit of info your theory makes sense.....

    Thats not entirely true.

Our NOA date is in March and we recieved the RFE from CSC yesterday. Might be good to note that we originally filed in CSC as well.

You have to remember that not everyone who is in the K1 pool is on or responding to this site. The sheer number of visas petitons out there versus the number of members in this forum that read and post regularly is drastically disproportionate.

I think we dont necessarily know the pattern yet, but we should be hopeful that expediting and release of the backlog is beginning to happen!

    ;)

Please note that I did not say "ALL"... but IMO if even 1 RFE went out for someone with a May date before a March date then it's one too many.

  10. NOTHING for me either.

I think the NSC to CSC transfers are getting royally screwed. I no longer care if I get it before I leave tomorrow. If I fedex it tomorrow or in two weeks I doubt it will make any difference whatsoever.

I'm feeling your frustration kitkat.... What is the point of even giving or noting a receipt date if you aren't going to process the petitions in order? You may as well just throw em' in a big pile and grab one with your eyes closed. But then again that could be how CSC works?

BTW I noticed you, luvalimey, and I all have the same timelines....

  11. I know its of little consolation, but at least if you are stuck in security checks you know they are working on your petition and making progress towards your NOA2...

Those of us (especially from CSC) who are still waiting for RFE's due to IMBRA have had our petitions shelved.... 90 days and counting here... I just pray that we don't have the ADDED delay of security checks on top of everything else... :(

I'm pulling for you Cali, as I know we all are

  12. I do not see how it is illegal if you do not talk about it with him and he just comes here to visit. he is not lieing or missinforming anyone in the USG; his intention is to come to visit on the VWP. Once he is here you convince him to stay and marry asap and it seems legal. Then just do a aos here. The law says he must be truthful so if his intention is not to marry just visit and you use your womenly arts to change his mind after the fact how is that illegal???? and you do not have to be apart. But I guess I would run this by at laest 1 lawyer if not 2 and see what they think.

    Good Luck,

Encouraging someone to do something illegal is against the TOS of VJ

To all those using the statement that it is illegal to enter the US using the VWP to marry, are incorrect. It is not illegal to marry in the US whilst on the VWP or on a visitors visa. What is illegal is intent to immigrate when one entered the US. However if one is granted entry (not lied) and is otherwise eligible, one can apply to adjust status after one gets married.

It IS illegal to enter on the VWP and get married IF you had the INTENT to do such. The OP asked the question with the INTENT to marry while the fiance is here on the VWP.....

  13. Anybody notice that they are now processing I-129F's received as of May 29th in Nebraska?

Sometimes you just have to laugh at the "bassackwardsness" (newly made up word  ) of the USCIS dontcha?

Just thought I'd give all of us in the CSC transfer club a little chuckle.

On a better note, they did update the CSC processing times.... it's now at Feb 15th

There IS a light at the end of our tunnels.. we just can't see it yet.

  14. I agree with you 100% The fact that the receipt date/receipt number on the NOA1 remains the same hopefully tells us that the transfer does not change the order. Whether or not that happens in reality when they are bombarded with RFE returns remains to be seen. But there is NO way we are back at the beginning and starting from scratch. By the way Crlsgrl, we have the exact timeline, step for step!

Wanna be my "timeline buddy"? I'll race ya! :D
