Hi All,
We just recieved our NOA-2 last week (May 23rd). I have called the NVC to see if anything has changed but nothign yet. As far as I understand, we wait for the NVC process to be complete, they send a letter to my fiance in South Africa and to myself, then we are able to make the appointment at the US Embassy correct? Anything durng this time we can be doing or contacting to speed up this process? When will we recieve his case number? Only after NVC is complete? The doctor appointment...can he make the appointment now without his case number or can we use the I129-f recipet number? Any advice?

Hi All,
We have made it through the NOA-2 phase and waiting to hear from NVC so we cna make the interview appointment. Does anyone know if Johannesburg is the only location for the interview? There is an embassy in Durban, which is closer to where my finace lives, so was hoping that would be an option. Also the doctor appointment? There is one in JHB but we have come across other info saying perhaps Cape Town...it appears the embassy's website are not up to dat (surprise!) and am finding new information from real life circumstance..
Any one have experience with either of these scenarios in South Africa?
Thanks!

Good luck on your immigration journey.

~Inquiry about K1 Process~
Thank you for your help!
On my instructions, I do not see anything about co-sponsor. I have read a forum saying that it is no longer an option? Any idea on this?
Concerning your first question, I agree with Pitaya. Don't think too much into it. Think on what is your situation going to be when he arrives in the US. Promises of jobs (even though you know they are real) don't mean much for the K1, specially because we need employment authorization (work permit) for it, and it takes a few months for it to get to the fiancee/spouse.
You need to focus on your parents filling out an affidavit of support and having enough money to provide for all 4 of you
And where is that gonna allow you to live, which is your parents house. If you move before he gets the visa, you just need to let the embassy know (I did it during my interview). And if it happens after he gets here, there are also ways to let the immigration know.
Good luck on your process
Thanks,
I have lots of savings as does he, can I submit bank statments or the sort to show I am financially secure?

Hey All - I am about to turn in my K-1 Visa petition at the end of this week (hopefully)! Mty fiance is from South Africa. We have been together for almost 5 years where the last 3 years I lived with him in South Africa / Mozambique. Due to me being abroad, I have a few questions.
1. Since I am JUST entering into the USA (January 2016) I am unemployed, looking for work and living at home with my parents. Jarrod, the fiance, has been offered a job in Atlanta (3 hours from my parent's) upon the issue of his visa / work application. When the 1-129f asks "intended location," I only have my father's address. So should I add a note with his letter of intent of employment saying we will be relocating when he is approved and I will therefor update my address at that time? How should I handle this?
2. Because I am looking for work, the G325A asks for employment info. By saying I am unemployed, will I be jeopardizing our application? I am in grad school (correspondence) as well.
3. Anyone have experience with the South African K-1 visa process recently?
Thank you for any and all information!

Our petitions and documents finally got to the Joburg embassy but they said the earliest appointment for the consulate interview was not until October! We have been speaking to them for weeks and every time we were told that it wouldnt be that long of a wait. There has got to be a way to expedite the process a little...it has already been 8 months starting the process and not seeing each other.
