Did you get infopass?  Where is your local office?

I did not as I got my green card renewed for 10 years. Local office would be Newark and due to case spike here, probably not wise to go into the office. The agents told me normal processing time is 14-17 months. I just see many users here getting their interview dates and wondering if I might be the only one and my application is lost somewhere.

  2. The thing with this form is it has to be notarized. Therefore the form needs original signatures and all family members involved must be "present" in front of the notary. You will also have to write the date and time the form was signed by each member so if your in-laws are located in another country, you may not be able to use them as they cannot be present in front of the notary. I used my mother, father and brother as my three members. Remember, getting the form notarized basically makes your marriage statement "authentic" and you do not want to defeat the purpose of it by raising red flags when you get people to sign it who cannot technically be present in front of the notary. Make sure the notary puts a stamp and the official seal on the form. You can find professionally written forms online via Google.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties. I will list additional documents I used. It may help.
    • Affidavit of Marriage Form (I had three immediate family members sign the affidavit, had it notarized, and sent photocopies of their IDs)
    • Statement of Authorized user of credit cards (yes, Bank of America and CitiBank, will allow you to add your spouse as an authorized user to your credit card account without SSN# ... not all financial institutions will allow that)
    • All records of communication including WhatApp chat log, facetime/skype logs, and emails

Honestly, they like to rely on joint finances (bank accounts and credit cards) the most during these cases on the sense that couples in a fraudulent marriage will not share finances. I hope you overcome this obstacle.

Thank you Incinerate.246. I will definitely start finding out today whether Capital One will allow me to add my husband as an authorize user on my credit card. I did not think of immediate family members writing a notarized letter, I believe that's what you meant by affidavit of marriage form. Question about that, does the family members have to know only of our marriage or did they had to have attended our small civic wedding as well? And the immediate family could it be from both sides or only my side? Thanx in advance. I appreciate everyone's kind words and suggestions.

Thanx MrsBurgz. I understand that could be the red flag but the fact that the consular did not ask for proof is what we are confused about. So hopefully they will reconsider and have my husband come back with whatever proof they request.

Question, what other documents could I send to my husband when they do review the case again? He has Boss Revolution phone calls from October of last year, western union receipts, I was going to send him whatsapp chats but it was just alot to put together but I will this time once they give him a date to review the documents. He has our wedding pictures as well as a few casual pictures we took when I went to visit him. If anyone on here can give me more ideas as to what they submitted to proof bona-fide of relationship I will appreciate that.

  4. Thank you! It is a great feeling to know now I can now see her. This forum community is great tool for us. Helps to ease any anxiety and also was able to avoid paying thousands for a lawyer. Good luck everyone!

Thank you for sharing her experience. I am also hoping that everyone here goes through this smoothly. I am really glad that the interview was painless for her and she will be her soon.

    Congratulations!!

  5. Her experience was painless. I had her take copies of both packages I submitted (USCIS I-130 & NVC), wedding album, and all her original required documents. Although they did not ask for anything more than the required documents, it is nice to have extra documents just in case. They asked basic questions nothing complicated.

    • What city/state are you planning to migrate?
    • What does your husband do?
    • Who is in his family?
    • How did you guys meet?
    • How long did you guys see each other?

After these brief questions, the officer said "Congratulations, your visa has been approved". It seems the couples who have a harder time are the ones who had a previous marriage, a significant age gap between the husband/wife, and/or have previously applied for other types of visas around the time of the marriage/engagement. If none of those apply to your relationship, you can expect a similar experience. I wish you the best to you and your wife. I am sure she will do fine. Good Luck!

Could you please share your wife experience? My wife will be having her interview Oct 14th.

    Thank You.

  6. Hey guys,

My wife just had her interview this morning (10/3/16 @ Mumbai Consulate). It went well and I am glad to say she was approved! Thank god. I would like to thank Visa Journey and its' members for making this process less stressful. You guys have been a great help. I wish all the luck to rest of you guys who are awaiting the same results. Hang in there. The process took a long 8 months to complete but I'm glad to say it is finally over.

  7. Hey guys, we had a CC on 8/19/16 and have an interview date of 10/3/16. However, we have not received any single email or letter notification as of today. We called to confirm this info with NVC but they keep telling us to wait for the email however, our case is indeed complete and we do have an interview date. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I am getting concerned because my wife will need this notification in order to schedule a medical appointment.

  8. I will try to clear it up for you. I physically mailed out the package at the postal center on 7/19. We called a few days later and NVC said they received our package and our scan date is 7/21. I have been tracking the case ever since via NVC case status tool and it always said "At NVC". on 8/19 the status was giving us an error status. That's when we decided to call on 8/19 and they said your case was completed today and currently waiting for the interview. We NEVER received at any type of notification. No email or letter. We called on Monday again so see why we did not receive any notification and to see when we can expect an interview. They said it takes a week from case complete to receive an email and no interview was scheduled and it can take 60 days to get an interview date. Today marked one week and we received no email so we decided to call again and they told us the reason we never received any email was because we have been scheduled for Oct 3 interview and we will receive a different letter confirming everything.

I am positive the case was not completed a week earlier since we tracked it each week. We did not expedite the case at all. I wish we received a formal written notification but we never did. As for why they scheduled ours and not yours I am not sure =\. If you recall, during the I-130 stage they said they go by PD which was not true because people with a later PD got approved before I did. And there are still some Feb I-130 that has not been approved yet till this date. I am sure your interview date will be coming soon. When i receive a letter in the mail I will let you know. Just hang in there, you are almost to the end.

Hi Incinerate.246 - Congrats on your interview date.

I called and asked NVC regarding my interview. They still don't have my interview date.

Is your CC really 8/19 or is this the date you received an email letter from NVC? Generally, NVC send out CC letter a week later. The reason I am asking this is because your timeline dates don't add up. Your timeline says NVC received your case on 7/21 but then you are sending them IV packages on 7/19. So, I am thinking your CC might be a week before 8/19.

NVC told me that they schedule interview based on CC date until they run out of appointment slots. Only for approved expedited cases or cases that have some exceptions are scheduled ahead of other cases.

Did you expedite your case or have some sort of exception? Also, can you please confirm if 8/19 is the day you received you CC email or that's the actual CC date? Please confirm.

I am really losing my mind here :-(

    Thanks in advance..

  9. Hey guys, its been a week since our case was complete but we received no notification via email. So we decided to give NVC a call so we can ask if everything is ok and when can we expect an email. They told us we will be receiving an entirely different email soon because we just got our interview date. Oct 3rd at Mumbai Consulate! CC was 8/19/16. Grateful for a fast interview date. Hoping the best for everyone.

  10. Get a head start on the police clearance. We made the mistake of waiting last minute and ran into delays due to not updating her Indian passport (wanted us to update her passport to married). It caused us a month in delay.

i called nvc today they siad they have reecived my package at the center and will take upto 2 weeks to enter into the system

  11. Congrats guys! Out of curiosity did they schedule an interview date or is that still pending?

Hi guys! I just got an NVC's email that info my case was completed.

My scan date was 14th july. Good luck for all! :)

Congratulations. I can imagine the excitement. Same here. Just got my case complete email confirmation about an hour ago after a telephone conformation a week ago. My scan date was July 26th. I wish everyone best of luck to everyone still waiting.

  12. I see. Thank you for informing me. It still shows as "PAID" on my case but no matter. We know its completed so now we just have to wait for an interview date. Good Luck to everyone we should start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now.

Yes you might get email notification saying your case is complete and now in queue for the interview. Mostly they will start scheduling again this week or next week for October interviews.

Instead on the AOS fee stating "PAID" it will change to "N/A" when your case is completed. Good Luck on the journey.

  13. Im curious to know where and how people see the "3 N/A". My online case status still says "At NVC", however the representatives at NVC via phone call confirmed our case was complete on 8/19/16. (We made two phone calls, one last friday and one again this morning to confirm the results). We are still waiting for the interview date. They also told us it takes about one week from case complete to receive any email notifications.

  14. Thanks!

    Congratulations!

Yes you right. My case ID starts with BMB and the representative said they are waiting on Mumbai. I am a US citizen so I hope the wait is not too long. Hopefully we all hear something before the end of the month.

Yes, I am also waiting for Mumbai consulate. They should have already assigned you a consulate. If your first three letter of the case number is BMB than you have been assigned Mumbai consulate. Even I think Mumbai is backed up but it is true that US citizen gets privilege over green card holder. Hopefully we all will hear something soon.

  15. Thanks. I believe we are most likely going to be assigned to Mumbai Consulate. I hear there is long wait time for Mumbai but it seems they give interviews to the spouses of US citizens faster over a green card holder. I am not sure how true this is. Are you Mumbai as well?

Congrats on getting CC 2 days earlier than excepted. It is a big relief. I am also waiting for the interview. Are you waiting for Delhi or Mumbai Consulate?

  16. Hello everyone. I was checking our case status online and it showed "Application Error". Se we decided to give NVC a call and to our surprise the representative said they completed the review process yesterday and now sent over the package to Mumbai and currently waiting to schedule an interview date. CASE COMPLETE!!!!! We have not received any notifications yet but I am so glad the process is coming to an end. We had a scan date of 7/21 so the people around our date can expect a case complete soon!!
